  1. I picked a good weekend to have kidney stone issues.
  2. I was thinking the same thing.
  3. But we're getting it done in the classroom and in the community, so it doesn't matter. (sarcasm)
  4. Because, because, because.......Bubba.
  5. Cripes.
  6. I am still sidelined with kidney stone related issues, so I'll be watching at home. Go Hawks!
  7. Don't bother trying to figure him out.
  8. The results (or in this case, lack thereof) speak for themselves. No amount of sugar-coating can change that.
  9. I guess I was thinking about all AD functions, not just conference realignment. I agree with you on this.
  10. So Armacost is running the athletic department through Chaves? I thought Presidents delegated these things.
  11. Chaves is part of the problem.
  12. Stability? Stability is pretty much extinct in college athletics (especially FB).
  13. That's a false choice. You don't have to give up one to have the other. You sound like you are advocating the Rutgers model, where wins and losses are almost 100% irrelevant.
  14. Have you seen how much bigger the budgets are for FBS schools vs. FCS schools? It's insane how big the gap is between FBS and everything else below it. Travel would also be much more expensive.
  15. Moving up from FCS to FBS is a lot more complicated and expensive than moving up from D-2 to FCS.
  16. Emojis are your friend.
  17. Most of college athletics is funded by "someone else's money". If we aren't willing to up our fund raising (which involves "someone else's money"), we might as well adopt the Rutgers model and not care if our teams are any good or not. Either adapt or get left behind.
  18. Sounds like it. It is good that alumni support the institution that gave them their start in life.
  19. I did support dropping the number of sports we sponsor. The old number was not sustainable as a Division I institution.
  20. Strawmen my a$$. I point out shortcomings in the athletic department and you call them strawmen. Whatever makes you feel better.
  21. I get that, but not all private schools have a UST level of commitment from their alumni.
  22. UND has had a strong academic and research foundation for quite awhile. When do you think it will "work its way into the athletic on-field performance"? Is that something that will happen organically?
  23. $6 million a year? At Quinnipiac? That is stunning.
