Why is 39 year old Brian Freaking Gionta on the men's team? There wasn't anyone better? Is Chris Drury on this team too? SMH! Heads need to roll at USA Hockey.

I just wanted to set the record straight for everyone who thinks I was one of those people. Nothing personal. And you are correct, there were people saying that. And I disagree with that premise as well.

What is that supposed to mean? I know some people on here said they would accept years of mediocrity for one NCAA title, but I am sure I never did.

Very few people actually said this. I never said it (you can go research it if you want). My position was (and still is) that it is a false choice (national title vs. consistent success). The two are not mutually exclusive. This is not a zero-sum game. I definitely am concerned about the past two years, but I am also not convinced we are headed to another 1991-94 situation either.

He also started during our 7-0 home win vs. Omaha on January 6th.

Yeah, NDSU is still in a hole. But they are more competitive than they used to be. And they will probably get better in the next 2-3 seasons. And when they do, I want a team that can beat them.

If this happens, we need a change at the top. Chaves picked one heck of a time to take over this athletic department. WBB on the rocks. MBB on the rocks. MH struggling for the second straight season. FB on the verge of going backwards after some big steps forward. I really hope this prediction is wrong.

Go back and watch the 2016 NCAA title game. Cam made some big saves when he needed to. Our D-Corps were good, but not perfect.

I agree 100% USD and SDSU have established solid WBB programs. NDSU is finally climbing out of the hole they dug themselves with the disaster that was Carolyn DeHoff. UND runs the risk of being a distant #4 amongst the Dakota Four. Unacceptable.

If Cam is back in net for Friday's game at Omaha, you can bet on a loss.....with a few soft goals thrown in for good measure. I don't know what happened to him, but he is not the same guy he was two years ago.

That is the Mismash we expected to see more this season.

Hak wasn't a "failure". But national titles are what separates the good programs from the great ones. And, fairly or not, Hakstol will always be viewed as our "Doug Woog". Every great program has down years and/or periods. That is all I was saying. But nice job bringing Hakstol into it.

The seat is definitely getting warmer for Berry with each bad loss and bad weekend. One other way to look at it is this is just the law of averages sticking its nose in. We were bound to have a down year at some point. We just don't want it to turn into 3 or 5 down years. With all the advantages we have (winning tradition, numerous alums in the NHL, NCAA title two years ago, best facilities in the world), that should not happen. And if it does, I think Berry knows his head will be served up on a platter.

For recruiting the players, of course he should get credit for that.
