No, FIRST HALF of the first round. The "blue chipper" standard is a high one, one our program apparently is not capable of reaching anymore. (sarcasm)

Remember, if they aren't picked in first half of the first round, they aren't "high end". (sarcasm)

Dearth my butt. Having a team full of early first round picks sounds great, until they start signing contracts after one or two years. A mix of 1-2 year guys and 3-4 year guys is best to maintain continuity from year to year. I think the recent dip in recruiting is starting to turn around.

I have the same gut feeling.

Prediction: If the NCHC doesn't try to grab St. Thomas, the B1G will. And that cannot be allowed to happen.

Trey Lance has a very small sample size, so I wouldn't write him off just yet. If he ends up with a team that is willing to develop him, he could still do something in the NFL.

Who is going to take NDSU with their geographical challenges? And being the next Idaho is not very attractive.

FBS is insanely expensive. The only way any of the Dakota 4 (UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU) are moving up is if they do it together and use their leverage to form a new FBS conference. Otherwise, it ain't happening.

Bison rubes honestly believe they are a hot commodity in collegiate sports and that conferences are lining up at their door. News Flash: Neither one of those things are true.

Yet NDSU was the one who needed a state bailout for athletics.

What none of the Dakota 4 have is a conference willing to accept them. Either they all work together and form their own FBS conference or it won't happen.

Can we get back to talking football and not what someone really meant?

Both NCHC and Summit League now have a relationship with CBS Sports. I smell Josh Fenton's influence here.

I've been predicting this for several years now. The P5 and G5 schools are classified as FBS, but they have little else in common.

I honestly don't have an opinion on Wentz. That injury is what torpedoed his career. Best of luck to him.

Perhaps collegiate athletics needs to crash and burn before it can be changed for the better.

Getting kicked out of the MIAC was the best thing that could have happened to St. Thomas. They will become a factor in Division I during the next 5 to 10 years.

It's the worst run conference in the history of collegiate sports.
