This would kill March Madness forever. The intrigue of the tournament would be gone. And the TV contracts they have been able to negotiate will be worth far less.

Nope.

Better be, it's taken them a long time to finish it.

I think @scpa0305was being sarcastic.

My stance on this is clear: We are a blueblood program in college hockey. Anything less is unacceptable (Copyright @Goon 2022, ALL Rights Reserved). I can accept mid-major status in basketball. I CANNOT accept mid-major status in hockey. That being said, this year's crop of freshmen look great and will give us some much-needed scoring punch.

Any good news today?

I would gladly move my seats if it made the arena a better home ice advantage.

Corporate hacks are generally clueless and short-sighted.

Why bring logic and reason into this?

I sense political thread drift. Please don't go there; this is one place on the internet where I can keep my sanity (what's left of it, anyway).

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this news. -
For my money, AEW is way better. But this is good news for Grand Forks.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

These infernal development camps have the potential to tank our season before it even starts. Cross your fingers everyone. -
In that case, we better have a city-wide vote on getting rid of them.

Having a couple of tough opponents each season does NOT make the entire schedule "solid". You bring up "P5", then list schools like Marshall, Cal, UNC, BYU, UNLV and Syracuse and then hope we won't notice?! And don't forget all the golden oldies like Duke, Wake Forest, Boston College and Georgia Tech. USC and Stanford are sometimes good and sometimes not good, so they vary from year to year. Ditto for Wisconsin. FSU and Miami are a shell of their former selves. Clemson, Alabama and OSU are tough opponents, no doubt, but there is still too many soft teams in their schedule on a regular basis. People think the academic standards of Notre Dame are too high for them to land enough blue chip recruits, but I don't believe that for one minute. It's the lack of a conference home that is limiting them as a program. The whole independent status thing worked when they were one of two or three teams on television every year, but now everyone is on television and conferences have their own networks. The Irish cannot be big-time players in college football as an independent anymore.

SiriusXM has almost everything you could imagine to choose from.

No, we are just fine with 6-5 and 5-6 here (extreme sarcasm).

USC is sometimes good, sometimes not. Right now, they are not good. Clemson was on their schedule during the pandemic year (they were 1-1 against them). Georgia and Ohio State are solid opponents, but there are still too many cupcakes on their schedule for them to whine about "lack of respect". The SEC is in a whole different solar system compared to the rest of FBS; why do you think the B1G is adding schools on the west coast? The number of players drafted in the first round from the SEC is insane. Not saying I like it (it is not good for the game overall), but it is what it is.
-
Duke, Wake Forest, Boston College, Georgia Tech......those type of games drag their quality of schedule down. If they belonged to the SEC or B1G, their schedule would be much better and they probably would find it easier to recruit. But since I hate Notre Dame with a passion, I hope they never do it.
