I think the target of these posts is the Imperial Cass County attitude of some people who live there. Not you.

Careful, you'll expand their ego even more than it already is. I like to shop locally anyway.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Why the impatience? We will all know soon enough.

It rained off and on all game. Not good for QBs and Kickers. Probably played into the hands of our All-World Defense.

What is wrong with questioning a partnership with a business that has a reputation for shady practices? I thought you would want to protect "hard working taxpayer's money"?

CCHA? AHA?

I don't know about the NCHC, but adding another Division I program is a good thing.

I think they are dead serious about establishing a Division I program.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I have been frustrated with this team's lack of success recently. The over-reliance on the transfer portal, the harping on "culture" while we keep losing games and leads, the recent dip in recruiting quality and other things. But there is a reasonable case to be made for optimism this year: Last year's freshmen will be sophomores and should take another step forward. This year's freshmen look very talented and will get better as the season goes on. The portal additions look solid (not spectacular, but solid) and should help shore up the defense until the young guys figure it out. Now that being said, these guys have to get on the same page quickly so the team doesn't get too far behind in the standings and PWR. If we have another season like last season, I will be concerned and frustrated because that means the coaching staff didn't really make the changes they needed to make. But I am willing to give the coaches and players the benefit of the doubt until I see reason not to. I don't think things are as bleak as you believe they are. We'll know more by Christmas. -
Frisco is the ultimate goal. Most of us just want to take some positive steps forward this year.

Did we have a brief dip in recruiting? Yes. Does it look like we are rebounding in that department? Yes. Will we get every high-ranked recruit we go after? No. Obviously we'll know more once October rolls around, but there is reasonable cause for optimism and expectations for a bounce-back year are not out of line. -

No, FIRST HALF of the first round. The "blue chipper" standard is a high one, one our program apparently is not capable of reaching anymore. (sarcasm) -

Remember, if they aren't picked in first half of the first round, they aren't "high end". (sarcasm) -

Dearth my butt. Having a team full of early first round picks sounds great, until they start signing contracts after one or two years. A mix of 1-2 year guys and 3-4 year guys is best to maintain continuity from year to year. I think the recent dip in recruiting is starting to turn around. -
I have the same gut feeling.

Prediction: If the NCHC doesn't try to grab St. Thomas, the B1G will. And that cannot be allowed to happen.
-
I imagine they kept the rights to use it.

Who is going to take NDSU with their geographical challenges? And being the next Idaho is not very attractive.
-
FBS is insanely expensive. The only way any of the Dakota 4 (UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU) are moving up is if they do it together and use their leverage to form a new FBS conference. Otherwise, it ain't happening.
-
Bison rubes honestly believe they are a hot commodity in collegiate sports and that conferences are lining up at their door. News Flash: Neither one of those things are true.

Yet NDSU was the one who needed a state bailout for athletics.
