  1. Why does this image instantly pop into my head when I see the new UNLV logo?!!
  2. Or they know something NDSU doesn't. And if that's the case, it might be NDSU's loss!! (Of course this is purely based on non biased opinion and not that I want NDSU football to fail all the time at everything).
  3. It's never to early to schedule football I guess!!
  4. He said something about the NCAA giving a conference a 2 year window to fill if a sport dropped below the 6 for the autobid. So if Fort Wayne leaves (or any other school that puts baseball or soccer below 6) the Summit would have 2 years to find another school that sponsors those sports to fill the void. **This is according to Douple, assuming he knows what he is talking about (huge risk)
  5. That would leave the MVFC with 6 schools (Ill St, Ind St, MO St, UNIm S Ill, and Youngstown). MVFC could still remain!!
  6. Still trying to see where it says if a conference doesn't have 2 other mens sports (besides MBB) that it loses its autobid in ALL mens sports. Obviously they would lose it for that individual sport. But, if they don't meet the MBB + 2 team sports requirement of 6 schools, where does it say they lose the autobid for all?
  7. Thanks for the clarification Sic and Jdub. As usual you guys are spot on with your information. Much appreciated by all on here.
  8. So why doesn't cross country or track and field (indoor and outdoor) count as the other 2 sports that must have 6?
  9. I never got the whole ripping on the Summit for being the "NCC 2.0". Back in the D2 days, the NCC was the best, most competitive, dominant conference in all of D2. And that was rue for many sports. Especially WBB and FB. Nothing wrong with having a D1 version of the NCC cause the NCC was a great conference. And so can the Summit!!
  10. There is no way Iowa had an offer to a kid and he picked NDSU over Iowa. Sorry. Iowa is not losing recruits to NDSU. Not happening.
  11. Mid major 7 footers transfers aren't always a dominant as you think they should be (Shanks).
  12. I think NAU will benefit from an easier schedule much like we did last year. Will likely only have 1-2 conference loses all season. If we expect to repeat, we will have to win at least 7 games next year I think.
  13. Kids born in 2002 are committing to schools!! Crazy! Another year or so there will be kids signing up to play for the University of Minnesota that weren't even alive the last time they won a National Championship!!
  14. Miller nails it here... "Even if it is done, it’s a poor reflection of the program and the UND administration the way this has carried on. How many Division I men’s basketball coaches do you hear getting mini extensions to buy more time for negotiations?"
  15. Re signing a coach is an easier process than hiring a new coach. Maybe even easier than promoting a new coach. Of course I don't know to what extent the budget cuts are having on Jones' new contract. Of course it is affecting the amount and timing of it. My point is that even dealing with the cuts, this deal should still not take this long. The biggest reason may be Jones trying to negotiate a bigger deal than Faison or UND want o give him.
  16. Totally agree. Everyone knew Jones was on his last year of his contract. Faison should have had a plan in place well before the contract expired. Sure the budget cuts threw a wrinkle into it. But still, a contract to sign your head mens basketball coach should not take this long.
  17. Re-signing a coach in a major sport at UND for a team that won the regular season title and earned their first trip to the Big Dance should be a big deal. Typically a school would make this a big news conference because they want to show off the accomplishments of a program and reward it by giving a long term contract to its head coach. But because UND embraces PR nighmares, they will most likely announce it with a press release at 4:30pm on Friday before a long weekend to avoid supposed "controversy."
  18. So the 2 month extension ends this week. The new deal should be announced this week you would think.
  19. We all know who was the King of the Big Sky last year!!
  20. I actually like that it doesn't go all the way around. The contrast of the stripe and the Wild logo workd on the front. Wht the stripe and the numbers on the back being the same color, it wouldn't look good at all. Of all the NHL jerseys, the Wild definitely made the most drastic change. And it looks awesome!
