  1. I moved to Denver a few years after the Scouts became the Rockies. Was glad to still be able to see NHL hockey. I still have some Rockies gear.
  2. With the actual attendance being around 15,000 or less in most arenas based on the empty seats I see on televised game that sounds like the perfect size. The Pengys need to move where there is already a fan base. The current NHL product is so bad it can't be used to create new fans in traditionally non-hockey cities.
  3. Born near Valley Forge, PA. Became a huge hockey fan when the Flyers came into existance in 68. Moved to Denver in 78 then near Lexington, KY for 4 years ending up in FL, Orlando area, where I still reside. Have Lightning season tickets and go back to Philly once or twice a season for games there. I became a Sioux fan in 97. Met a fellow Flyers fan from ND in 00 which resulted in a visit to GF in 05 for the WJC. I love and miss cold and snow so it was a nice visit.
  4. Thanks for sharing. I know Fedotenko is recovering from hip surgery. How's he look?

    Dru trial

Fear of getting caught and punished works for normal people like me and you. For someone as sick as Rodriguez it's a compulsion. He's been in prison but he wasn't thinking about being caught and put back in prison when to kidnapped Dru. He had enough previous convictions that IMO he should never have been released to do to anyone else what he ended up doing to to her and what he had done to others previously. If I was a juror this penalty phase would be the hardest part. Finding Rodriguez guilty of kidnapping and murdering Sjodin seemed pretty clearcut. I don't live in your area so I haven't had all the information you do so determing where she was killed would be a very serious consideration under the law. As Shep pointed out if she died before crossing the state line it's not a federal case and the death penalty no longer applies. The jurors are bound to follow the law, not their feelings that just because Rodriguez is guiilty of murder he should be put to death.
  6. Guess I'll keep this question this thread... I see this morning David Hale is still unsigned by the Devils. Can someone please remind me what kind of defense he is?
  7. Stevens was a headhunter. It's one thing to go after a player skating with his head down(shame on them) but it should be expressly prohibited to make hits to the head which Stevens did quite intentionally(shame on him). He would always come up high with his elbow or forearm. And as someone else pointed out he would hit a player after the puck was long gone. Too bad karma didn't get him sooner than it did.
  8. Ummm...this chick Flyerfan never called him Rod the Bod. *barf* Hands of Stone was fitting except in the faceoff circle. Lindros and Brindy were among the best in the NHL.

    News on Toews

Don't see this posted here and I apologize if it was and I've missed it... Saw this on another board...

    News on Toews

This may help explain a little further Toews at the prospect camp... Chicago Blackhawk notes/Daily Herald Neither player can spend more than 48 hours in training camp or they lose college eligibility. Tallon said the decision would be made soon whether to sign both or let them play another year in college. The Hawks may need Toews to play right away if Tallon can
  11. When he was a Flyer Brindy always showed up to camp in the most fit of any player. He always won the training runs. I doubt his training has changed any since going to Carolina.
  12. You're right. Wouldn't they have to be signed before stepping on the ice with the team?
  13. When the Oilers won on Wednesday I figured the series would go to a Game 7. I think the Canes will rebound and win at home.
  14. They were not grandfathered in. Helmets for officials were not legislated until this year. Kerry Frazer and Mick McGeough are the only helmetless referees in the NHL. They all will have to wear them beginning next season. Visors will be mandatory for new refs and linesmen beginning in the 07 season. Officials helmet rule History of NHL officials equiptment
  15. I always figured Crosby was lacking something in the manliness department. Tough break for a kid.
