For the PWR two ties would equal a win and a loss, but with the second tie breaker in WCHA tourney seeding being total league wins, two ties would hurt us in our head to head against teams like Denver, Omaha, or St. Cloud who we have an equal head to head record against, which in the end could put us on the road for the first round of the WCHA playoffs, or just make our first round series that much tougher. Come WCHA playoff time we are going to need to win our first round series most likely and maybe a game or two at the X, so the easier the road the better.

Assuming every team has 3 weeks left in their season before conference tournaments begin, that means there are still almost 200 regular season games left. There are way too many scenarios that can play out in those 200 games when it comes to the pairwise. It is impossible to know where UND is going to end up at the end of the year because there are so many comparisons that are out of their control. Read up on the pairwise and you will come to understand that its meant to be a tool that is used once all of the games have been played out.

I believe if you are a top 4 seed you get the game, but otherwise it comes down to a bid to the NCAA by both teams. I am assuming Fargo would get it since they can offer up a better bid since they can put more butts in the seats.

When I went to UND in the Engineerihng program they recorded all of our classes so that the distance students could watch them online. The distance students were required to follow the same curriculum as the on campus students such as same homework assignments, same tests that were proctored at Universities outside of Grand Forks, involved in group projects with on campus students, etc. These distance students would then have to come to campus in the summer to complete all the hands on labs that we did during the previous semesters. These distance students would spend roughly a couple weeks on campus in the summer going to labs 6-8 hours a day to complete the same work that the on campus students had completed during the past semesters. On top of the work equality the distance students have to pay alot more (used to be roughly twice as much per credit) to attend UND. In the distance student fees things such as the wellness center fees were also included even though these students were never going to be able to use it. To sum it up the only difference between a distance student and an on campus student is the "distance" aspect of it.

If you are more concerned about the clarity of the picture on your television than the quality of the team on the ice there are other programming options for you on the weekends. You could jump on the Gophers bandwagon, watch reruns of "Gilmore Girls", or ask DaveK if you can borrow from his library of games.

Well, I am sorry for being "the straw that broke the camel's back." Let me know how much you were going to pledge so that I can make it up to the school for my out of line actions accompanied by the fact that they don't carry UND sports in high definition. I am so ashamed of myself. I think that we have it pretty good as UND fans. I am not one to sympathize with bison fans, but they had 2 home playoff games this year that many people were unable to watch because of their cable provider not carrying ESPN3 and having no local television stations to pick the games up. We, on the other hand, are lucky enough to watch the hockey team play exhibition games versus teams like the Russian Stars.

You have repeated the exact same argument 3 times. It is called Dahlstrom Motors and if you can't stand watching the games in standard definition or the local commercials as you have stated over and over and over again, why don't you just watch something else. Nobody is forcing you to watch the games.

How many of those wins are actual D1-AA wins. I am sure the title of the arcticle made a certain someone happy being that it referred to the league as D1-AA rather than FCS.
