  1. Need to sell my 2 NCHC Frozen Faceoff ticket packages due to my wife being 7 months pregnant. I am just looking to get my money back. I paid $301.26 for the two packages and am looking to get $300 (I have my receipt). Please contact me if interested. Thanks! Section: 126 Row: N Seats: 19 & 20
  2. I am sure you do, as you get to host a Regional or Frozen Four 3 out of every 4 years at the X with the current setup. If the X was in East Grand Forks I would feel the same way.
  3. This topic turned really weird really fast
  4. You should have just copied and pasted the box score you just read that all from rather than waste all the time looking back and forth while you wrote that. My bad, i guess a two goal lead with 1:30 to play is not a close game and is insurmountable even though the team trailing just rattled off three goals. Oh wait, wasn't BU down by 2 goals with less than a minute to play the year before versus Miami in the NC and came back and won? Anyways...... my point was that Yale has competed well at the national level the last few years along with Union. All three of those schools have proved themselves to be relevant in the college hockey world. Its no longer a national title thats up for grabs between Hockey East, the WCHA, and the (now former) CCHA. That last few years have shown that any team, from any conference, can win the tourney even if they back into one of the last at-large bids of the tournament. Its all about getting in and finding your mojo once you get there.
  5. If you haven't heard of Union, Yale, or Quinnipiac until two weeks ago, you must not follow much college hockey. Quinnipiac has basically been number 1 all year long. Union made the frozen four last year as a #1 seed (#3 overall in the tourney) and were a #2 seed in the tourney the year before. Yale was the #1 seed overall in 2011 and in 2010 took UND down in the first round of the NCAA before they battled with BC to a 9-7 defeat in the regional final (by far BC's toughest game of that tourney). BC went on to blow out both RIT and WIsco that year in the frozen four.
  6. Amen. The consistently good hockey that Hak has produced in his 9 years have gotten me through 9 winters by looking forward to every Friday and Saturday night. I am just as bummed as anyone else when UND doesn't win the final game of the year, but I wouldn't trade being entertained for 6 months a year and consistently being in the hunt for a national championship every year for one great season coupled with 5 seasons of hockey that fall well below the standard that UND has set for itself.
  7. I will try make the question easier to understand. Would you rather: A.) Be guaranteed a NC in 2019 and miss the NCAA tourney in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 while having a .500 team that finishes middle of the pack in the league. B.) Consistently be in the top or at the very top of the league every year, win league tourneys, and make the NCAA tournament in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 with a chance (but no guarantee)of winning a title or multiple titles in that span.
  8. If you knew it was a guarantee to win a NC in 2019 and that UND would be a .500 team and miss the NCAA playoffs for the next 5 years prior to the NC, would you be ok sitting around and waiting for that or would you prefer to watch a team that competes at a high level every year and is in the mix for a NC every year?
  9. If Hakstol had 1 National Championship and missed the tournament the other 8 years, he wouldn't have a job at UND. If UND missed the NCAA tournament 8 times out of 9 years they wouldn't be able to recruit the talent that they are getting now, therefore they wouldn't even be in the upper tier of teams competing for National Championships year in and year out. I know alot of nutso fans have a belief that the arena and tradition recruits itself, but that is far from reality. Hakstol is a great coach and a great recruiter that will get a title one of these years. For those of you who can't enjoy the ride until we get that title, get off of the bus. Do you live in Hakstol's brain, or how else do you know his answers to your questions since he is "most likely of the same opinion as I am." I have a hard time not laughing at some of the material that is posted on this board. Do people truly think like this?
  10. Let me get this straight. If we could go back in time and change who won the 05' title game out of UND and Denver (Hakstol's first year as head coach), then have UND miss two consecutive NCAA tourneys (06' and 07'), and then have UND win 1 game in their next 6 NCAA tourneys, you would be happier today with Hakstol as our head coach? That is absolutely nuts. Gwoz's resume during Hakstol's era isn't even on the same level.
  11. Gwoz's NCAA Record at Denver 95' 1-1 96' DNQ 97' 1-1 98' DNQ 99' 0-1 00' DNQ 01' DNQ 02' 0-1 (#1 Seed) 03' DNQ 04' 4-0 (National Title) 05' 4-0 (National Title) (#1 Seed) 06' DNQ 07' DNQ 08' 0-1 09' 0-1 (#1 Seed) 10' 0-1 (#1 Seed) 11' 1-1 12' 0-1 13' 0-1 So, aside from the 55 week stretch from the end of March in 04' and Early April of 05' Gwoz's teams really haven't had "it". Gwoz was 8-0 between 04' and 05' riding a very hot goalie in 04'. The other 17 years of his career his team was 3-10 in the ncaa tourney with 7 years of not qualifying for the tourney and 7 years of losing in their first game of the tourney (3 of those first game losses as a #1 Seed). Please explain to me how this makes his teams have "it". I would take Hak's consistency over this any day. Only 5 out of Gwoz's 19 seasons at Denver he was able to win a game at the NCAA tourney. Again, he and his teams sure have "it".
  12. Jim, I am assuming in this scenario where UND finishes 12th, atleast one of the autobids is taken by a team that would have qualified as an at-large bid given that 12th in the PWR doesn't give you an automatic entry with 5 autobids out there?
  13. Trying dealing with Cableone for a couple years and then let me hear you complain about Midco. Cableone is a joke.
  14. This is what was written at the top of the page. Looks to me like he posted them. Either way, they are his picks. "The Fan Bloggers from around the WCHA had their own vote on the players and this is my ballot that I submitted for the Second Annual 2012-13 Blogger/Website All-WCHA Awards Poll, that is put on by A Tradition of Excellence Blog."
  15. I agree. That makes absolutely zero sense.
  16. I am torn with the CC St. Cloud series. On one hand St. Cloud knocking CC out as a TUC would really help us in the pairwise/NCAA Tournament positioning, but on the other hand if St. Cloud walks out of CC with 4 points our chances at a piece of the McNaughton shrink to almost nothing considering a split is probably the most probable of outcomes this weekend. It could come down to what's the better choice, winning the league or having the last change in a Regional final against a possible BC, UNH, or even Minny opponent given the rest of the season falls into place for us.
