  1. Then lucky news for the US.

    SIOUX @ DU

I think that I'd rather have the big body in front, because we don't draw many penalties from the other team during our PP anyways.
  3. They don't consider the head to head meeting as a first tie-breaker?

    DU and UND

Wpos, I don't remember if it was you giving the UND players crap for checking from behind, but I saw that first one against the Gophers and UND has been called for many of those "turn the back" calls. Sorry I have to bring the guy up, but in watching Kessel live he turns his back a lot when taking a check. In fact I'm seeing this from many players and I think the NCAA has created a more dangerous precedent with these calls, because the players are putting themselves in a dangerous position to get the call. Also, I didn't even hear of that 2 minute checking from behind call due to a player being away from the boards until like 2 weeks ago. I believe in Duluth a UND player got kicked out when the opposing player was no where near the boards.
  5. They did have the words on the ring for the school song on Saturday.
  6. The problem is that Latvia should beat Kazakstan. That means we need another tie or win to end up in 4th. I don't think we can get it.
  7. Good point on opening up that other land. I wasn't directing my post at you, but at those who are critical of the ramp.
  8. Don't forget about his City Council days. Some how he won his ward. Made an ass of himself on Channel 3. Made the ratings for City Council meetings go through the roof, then his ward re-called him.
  9. The reported attendance figures at the Al has been discussed quite a bit, but the games I went the to there were never 3-4,000 empty seats in that place.
  10. I wish they had the parking ramp when I went to school. I think to many of you live on campus and haven't done the commute. Had to park at the Old Englestad and then walk a looooooong ways in the -20 weather. They didn't even put that mini lot between the bridge and memorial until like 2002 due to all the complaints about parking. Every year that was the #1 issue brought up by student senators and nothing was ever done. I guess I don't know if it is needed now or not, but the location is right near the Union and Library and most classroom buildings. So the spot is as good as they could get. I know originally there was some talk about putting a structure behind Tabula, but then you'd still need all those people to cross University.

    Duluth at UND

Have to agree. We can't afford a loss with Denver on the horizon next weekend and our PWR hurting.
  12. But Oshie wouldn't have to sign early.
  13. I believe the intermission length was longer because it took the teams over two minutes just to walk to the locker rooms one way.
  14. Looks like UW will win this game. Tech just tied the Gophs at 2 in the beginning of the third.
  15. That ice looks like it is really fast.
  16. But it's so much fun. And we're not the players and we need to know who to root for when watching the games.
  17. Just checked and Maine did move up. Right behind us. We need Vermont to beat Maine tomorrow night. Actually, it's not a bad idea to root against those teams behind us as well. It'd be good for teams like Ferris St., Maine, and especially SCSU to lose. DU corrently is behind us, but has a much stronger finishing schedule than us and a game to still finish tonight.
  18. We've moved up five spots so far (nights not over) tonight to 12th. So we've gotten some help finally. We now have all the comparisons back against the CCHA teams except Omaha and Miami. We still need UW to win tomorrow against OSU as that should strengthen the league as a whole. Not sure how much it'll help us since we lost our only games to UW. Oddly enough Maine dropped after beating a TUC on the road in Vermont. Unless that game hasn't been factored in yet.
  19. Is this an official game against OSU for Wisconsin? If so, the WCHA really needs a victory by UW, otherwise we could see a lot of CCHA teams in the tourney.
  20. Did I read one of the WCHA notebooks correctly that Frazee is in academic trouble? Will he be able to play again this semester?
  21. I was just going to ask about that. Does anyone think that a loss might be better heading into tourney time? I think a loss might be the big motivator and take some of the pressure of finishing undefeated. But I'm with you dd, hopefully this is all the motivation they need.
  22. Favorite name: Braaaaaaaaddddd BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMBADIIIIIIRRR!!!! (Brad Bombadir for those that can't take out the extra letters)
  23. Assuming we get to host regionals, where would they be held? Weren't they at the Betty last year? Was attendance/sell outs a problem?
  24. Haven't been in the Betty's, but isn't it only used by bball and vball? Basically leaving the other weight room for all the other sports. Or did they get rid of the weight room in the Hyslop since the Wellness Center is being built?
  25. Refurbishing Hyslop is/was not an option. It was a interesting facility to watch basketball from, but the place has way too many issues. It's been remodelled so many times, that it's impossible to find a path from one end to the other. The film room/lounge for the men couldn't even fit the team. Practice times were horrible no matter what sport you were due to space. The classroom part either had rooms that were too big or too small. Not to mention it was always 90 degrees up there. Weight room was small and locker facilities for regular students on other end of the intramural building. That place is just becoming old. What's the cost on remodelling the BSA? 15 million? I'm guessing Hyslop would be that if not more if you're trying to all the extras and not just the main gym.
