looks like someone over at REA saw that the womens vball team is currently on top of a so called "Big Sky Conference" and decided to embrace the fact that UND is something other than the NCHC and decided to paint on the member schools logo's on the south wall at the Betty? Better late than never but banners would have been nicer and i can't wait until REA finds out that Idaho (no not Idaho State they are already in the BSC) will be joining next year so a couple of logos painted over will have to be shifted down a bit.

you would be hard pressed to find two nicer guys than chris and jody and maybe there lies the problem....maybe the fat maybe needs to be trimmed a little at the ralph and betty and you need a hard ass to do that and chris and jody might be too nice to go around firing a few unneeded employees to improve the bottom line... i'm just saying that if you talk to casual und fans (and i have the last couple of weeks) and ask them how much do you think the the ralph/betty make for the athletic departemnt each year and most if not all just say "millions"...granted myself and all the people i have asked haven't and don't run event facilites but there seems to be a big discrepancy between perception and reality on this one....

no to most and yes to some....i'm just saying that if 500k is all they can generate with two buildings like that for the und athletic department there is something wrong over there...and if ralph were still around he would do something about it...

children of millionaires that "made it on their own" are few and far between....

first just because she's ralphs daughter doesn't mean she has the business sense and foresight that made a "normal" kid from trf into a millionaire...the silver spoon in her mouth might get in the way of saying something meaningful during those board meetings...second is i doubt she and the trust have the love and passion for und like ralph did.

i think your confusing und the education side with und the athletics side...last year the und athletics department had 19 million in revenue...the ndac a little over 16 million....i think with all the advantages und has over the ndac i would have thought that number would have easily been twice that..

ask..don't ask..hire an accountant....ask someone to hire an accountant?? if REA give soooo much money to the athletic department you think that number would be front and center on their webpage in big bold numbers..... 34.3 MILLION DOLLARS DONATED SINCE 2001!!!! i bumped this thread up bc i think with und only generating a couple million dollars more than than the ndac i think is horrible considering how many millionaires have passed thru just the mens hockey side in the last ten years not to mention atheletes and non-athletes that have passed thru the business and engineering schools in the past 40 years...mr. mean/mr. chipman to name a few???

if and that's a big if 3 more big10 schools add womens hockey the wcha would be dead on the womens side and und would drop womens hockey....

i know the womens team is needed for title 9 stuff but if the team was eliminated cold the 12-15 (or more?) schollies they have be spread out to the softbal, tennis, vball teams and then save the money of the high cost of running a hockey team?? just wondering

part of the reason i am making a big issue with finding out how much rea gives to und athletics is bc the next coach of und fb should be tim tibesar but its gonna take 250k plus to get him (if we can get him at all) and if rea can give a little more to get the fb team up to d1 standards lets get it done!!

i guess they have three different 990's...bottom line how much does rea give on any given year?? you would think that they would do that large fake check promotion to highlight how they give but if they don't are they ashamed of how little it actually is???
