  1. Right?!?! An ill advised hold behind the Miami goaltender. Not smart.
  2. Miami defender swept Calder’s stick away from him as he bent down to pick it up. That should’ve been called.
  3. I think Gabinet does his team no favors by front loading 10 consecutive home games with 8 of those games coming against weak to average non-conference opponents. DU, Duluth, and UND come to mind as doing a nice job of mixing in some really tough competition and are willing to play some of these tough opponents on the road. Gabinet and Co., rack up some gaudy numbers in the beginning but does their non-conference schedule really prepare them well for the grind of the NCHC? We shall see.
  4. Omaha loaded up their non-conference with cupcakes. 8-2 in their first 10 games and all games at home…Long Island, Alaska, Maine, LSSU, and Miami. Finally play a bonafide power tonight and get beaten handily.
  5. Savoie with at least 2 goals tonight. He shouldn’t have even been playing tonight.
  6. And as a CC fan, I gotta say that theirs is the worst in the conference. I was hopeful it would improve with the new arena but no, it’s still bad and the camera people clearly don’t know the game of hockey as they’re almost always a day late and a dollar short in covering the play.
  7. Thanks. I just needed to clean my spectacles and look again and it was there for me.
  8. Anyone else having issues finding the game on the nchc.tv schedule?
  9. I say it spoiled my day tongue in cheek. I laughed too when they made that crack! These guys are funny and entertaining. A good listen for sure.
  10. At about the 41 minute mark, this kinda spoiled my day…Johnson asked what the other top schools were that he considered before choosing Michigan.
  11. Revenge or tie breakers. We own the tie breaker if I correctly understand that methodology.
  12. Totally! And I like how Jamernik simply pushed the puck over to the DU player to touch and then immediately pounced on Savoie rather than picking up the loose puck and trying to gain possession and a potential shot at the empty net. Shows he cares about his fallen teammate. Jake made a comment to that affect.
  13. https://letsgodu.com/2021/11/07/denver-hockey-road-trip-recap-pioneers-swept-by-fn-hawks-extend-losing-streak-to-4/ Note the author’s comment insinuating UND benefits from the officials in games played in Grand Forks. “It was a play that should have been whistled dead after the Pios exited the zone but the rules have always been different in Grand Forks for some reason.”
  14. Was Morrow a UND commit too? And if so, what’s the story on him and Rizzo and why they didn’t end up coming here?
  15. Refs with a questionable whistle as CC would’ve gone in alone on a breakaway in the 3x3 overtime. That said, St. Cloud and in particular, Jami Krannila, are so good and dangerous. CC shot themselves in the foot with that lazy tripping penalty in the neutral zone with about 5 minutes to play and St. Cloud made them pay to tie it up.
  16. Can someone help me understand the 55/45 methodology? I’m guessing an OT win rewards the winning team less than a regulation victory and vice versa for the losing team?

That was a fun Final Five despite UND getting bounced in the Thursday play in game. The next night, I recall walk on Peter Geronazzo putting his CC team on his back and storming back from a 2 or 3 goal deficit to beat the Gophers in a very highly partisan Minnesota crowd at the Civic Center.
  18. DU had a bye week to continue licking their wounds from a bad east coast road trip as well as more time to turn the page and get ready for North Dakota. I hope for a split this weekend.

Didn’t the hockey team get home ice in 95/96 and lose to Wisconsin?

Just got out of the CC game. Listening to the post game. Did they already interview Berry or no post game interview?
  21. CC went 6 for 11 on the power play tonight. We only had 5 power play goals all season last year. Great seeing CC get their first win in program history at Ed Robson Arena and keep the Pikes Peak Trophy.
  22. Yes, courtesy of a no-look pass backwards to no one in the CC zone by the CC puck carrier. AF forward scooped up the loose change and walked in all alone for an easy breakaway goal.
  23. CC and AF tied 4-4 after regulation.
  24. CC fell asleep the final two minutes of the second period. Falcons up 4-3.
  25. And Holy Cross will be extra motivated to win one for their coach who was the associate head coach at Quinnipiac.
