  1. This is difficult to watch. Pat’s absolutely right though-St. Cloud is absolutely smothering and suffocating UND whenever we touch the puck.
  2. Yah, would’ve been nice to give him some game experience earlier this season rather than waiting until tonight, on the road against one of the best teams.
  3. Just read Schlossman’s article about the game and he mentioned that Calder is likely out for next weekend’s series against St. Cloud, according to Berry. That sucks.
  4. Amen. Brand new scoreboard at Robson arena and do you think they show replays of the visitors’ goals against CC? -Nope. Such petty, small minded thinking. I Wanna tell someone, “The program showing replays of the other teams’ goals doesn’t diminish their loyalty to the Tigers.” Plays happen so fast sometimes, even if you’re paying attention, your brain doesn’t fully capture the development of the play so seeing replays helps. Instead, they wanna have the over used kiss cam, and crap like that.
  5. The thing that sticks out to me is how soon the players seem to have forgotten last Friday’s effort and performance. I give them a lot of credit for how they responded last Saturday but then last night felt like they regressed right back to last Friday (the lazy penalties, the general lack of effort and intensity). Berry seems to know how to get his players to respond to a poor performance so let’s hope tonight we see better.
  6. Jake said most teams will dump and chase but Minnesota will sometimes dangle and keep the puck as they enter the zone. We need to be more assertive and hold the blue line better then if they’re going to do that.
  7. I see Halliday second on that list. I wonder why he de-committed from UND?
  8. As a kid, I was always enamored with those hats!
  9. Where did you get those hard hats with the red lights on top?
  10. Does anyone have memories of a Sioux/Gopher series at the old Ralph circa, late 70’s/early 80’s where, during warmups, every time the Gopher goalie got scored on, the student section would cheer loudly and then whenever he made a save, they’d boo loudly and heckle him. Eventually, it came to a head because the goalie charged and jumped the glass into the student section and all hell broke lose. I was a little kid so my recollection of the specifics is fuzzy but I do remember witnessing this incident from my parents’ seats in section Q17. I’d love hearing from anyone who recalls this incident!
  11. The visiting Badgers fans always seemed cool and ready and willing to party at the bars with Sioux fans, win or lose.Is that a pretty accurate description?
  12. Do you think the Gophers will take a page out of the Friday game against Duluth and try to bait us into taking dumb, ill-advised penalties as a strategy to beat us and minimize playing us five on five? -I can’t speak to the Penn State game as I didn’t watch it but it sounded like we took too many penalties in that game too.
  13. Schlossman did a podcast with Ben Holden a number of months ago and this topic came up in a round about way. He said that even though a school such as Ohio State-which arguably has one of the largest athletic budgets and biggest name recognition in the country and could squash a school like a UND, St. Cloud, or Duluth in this regard-doesn’t draw fans at Minnesota and probably wouldn’t at UND the way existing rivals, and much smaller legacy WCHA schools with less name recognition is the years and in some cases, decades that these rivalries have been nurtured and grown. Not sure if I’m sharing any new insight but it was interesting to hear Brad’s take on this. I personally would much rather see a UND/SCSU, UND/DU, or a UND/UMD series than UND vs Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, etc.
  14. Tv and radio announcers keep saying Jamernik out of the game. Wish they’d say that he took himself out of the game.
