  1. Junior forward Hunter McKown has signed with the Columbus Bluejackets.
  2. Yep. CC proved what a great goalie can do for an otherwise not very deep team.
  3. Definitely not much fun here as a UND fan to be watching the selection show but I’m going to suck it up and watch. I hope you’re right that Berry and the team also watch as well.
  4. Is this the proper place to post comments about the women’s frozen four national championship game that’s happening right now? Anyone else watching it?
  5. The only potential issue is what to do if Miami or CC were to win the frozen Faceoff? (Unlikely I know given their history but still plausible). Their arenas only seat around 3,000-3,500. Hardly large enough to accommodate the demand.
  6. I’d be down with Des Moines or Sioux Falls though.
  7. I’d highly recommend attending a Canisius hockey series if feasible. The food in Buffalo is unbelievable! Buffalo having a history as an old mob town from the prohibition days, has lots of great Italian restaurants. The arena is a really nice venue. The arena itself is elevated above ground seven stories up. And has that open air concourse design that’s become very popular as of late. The arena is across the street from where the Buffalo Sabres play. https://gogriffs.com/sports/2016/5/24/210975389.aspx
  8. How about the 17,500 seat arena in downtown Omaha? Plus, Omaha’s more centrally located for all conference members and downtown Omaha is well equipped to host fanbases (they do it each and every year with the college World Series).
  9. I think the decision makers at the time of the formation of the NCHC naively thought they’d easily capture the magic of the WCHA Final Five with the Frozen Faceoff, not recognizing that most of the old WCHA member schools were within a day’s drive of the event, not to mention decades upon decades of cultivating and growing these rivalries that existed among UND, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Duluth, and to a lesser extent, CC and Denver. Having attended the first six Frozen Faceoffs, to show our fan support, coming out from Colorado took considerable time and expense. It got to the point where it felt like we were being price gauged between the cost of the tournament ticket packages and then the cost of concessions and beer once trapped inside the venue. As one can imagine, between DIA airport parking, airline tickets, rental car in the twin cities, hotel rooms, food and beverage, gas, etc., these annual weekend excursions were not cheap but we did it because we wanted to support the teams and the conference. After 2019, I kinda had enough and decided to vote with my wallet and, for the foreseeable future, take a break. I wrote to the NCHC following the conclusion of the 2019 tournament, expressing my disappointment with the prices charged inside the venue and for the tickets. And rather than acknowledging my feedback, I received a very short reply, deflecting blame for the high concession prices on the venue and no acknowledgment that the conference were the ones who made the decision to hire the venue and potentially having some influence or say on what the prices would be for concessions.
  10. Hence, scoring 2 goals in the last 2 1/2 minutes to send it to overtime?
  11. It feel especially long if either DU or SCSU win it all too! Lol
  12. Is there a chance Mankato doesn’t make the tournament if they lose this game?
  13. And bubble teams are chewing on their fingernails right now.
  14. I’m waiting to see if Vernon from CC enters the portal once their season ends (hopefully not too soon). Mbereko is clearly the #1 goaltender and I wouldn’t think Vernon would NOT (edit) want to ride the pine for most of next season.
  15. Beers at Ball Arena are 16 bucks as well. Ridiculous but I guess thousands of people don’t seem to mind. When you’re inside, they got you by the short and curlies.
  16. I wonder if anyone’s considered selling a beer for say, 5 or 6 bucks instead and making even more revenue through increased sales? The margins on draft beer have to be quite high. Just a thought, instead of sticking it to the paying fanbase who are in attendance.
  17. How much were the draft beers? I recall paying $11 or $12 for a Grainbelt draft beer back in 2019.
  18. I just wanted to acknowledge how hard this team battled down the stretch and tonight as well. They didn’t embarrass themselves one bit. I’m so proud of all those guys in the locker room. You made all UND fans proud.
  19. 2017 Frozen Faceoff weekend.
  20. UND fan giving the bird to a Wolverine player who scored to beat us in the 2011 Frozen Four.
  21. Why did Midco get the television rights anyway? Good reputation of having a high quality production?
  22. Not to mention, some of the boys looked pretty tired last night down the stretch so perhaps dressing and playing some of the guys who haven’t yet suited up could give the team some juice.
