  1. Gabinet inexplicably played his other goalie Saturday night. Why not go with the hot hand in Saville??? To boot, the other goalie, Roden, badly misplayed the puck late in the third leading to a costly goal. I won’t lie, I started to cynically wonder if Gabinet was throwing the game for some reason.
  2. Yah, and given how badly outmanned Miami is to Duluth, that’s quite a performance. I’m not seeing any improvement in the RedHawks yet under Bergeron.
  3. I know Miami didn’t win both games this weekend but Ludvig Persson had a really strong weekend. He had a 44 save shut out tonight and stopped 49 of 52 shots last night.
  4. Did anyone see Sanderson’s outfit and hat he had on tonight? It was dope!
  5. Thanks for your insightful and encouraging post. Up until now, I’ve been stewing big time over Omaha’s loss tonight to the point I’d forgotten the great accomplishment UND had this weekend. You’ve put things in perspective for me, I’m not as soured about Omaha’s loss as I was a few minutes ago. I don’t expect any help from CC next weekend so UND will have to go out and earn it.
  6. Omaha imploding the final ten minutes of the game.
  7. Yah you should’ve heard my reaction when they changed the time. I was so freakin nervous.
  8. Who is this guy? Does he cherry pick plays only involving UND players?
  9. Toward the end of the game the refs reviewed the time on the clock and added back on about 2 seconds more. Moments later, UND iced the puck and Berry looked visibly upset with the officials and Starman said as much. Any insight as to what he was mad about? Should more time have run off the clock?
  10. I think because the game was televised on CBS Sports it makes it harder to find highlights. I’ve been looking and have been unsuccessful.
  11. Something tells me the Omaha players are feeling like kings of the world and are going to go out tonight and party it up, get drunk. Meanwhile, DU will stew over this loss tonight and all day tomorrow and come out tomorrow night and pound Omaha.
  12. Funny how even with that DU always seems to come out ahead with the PP.
  13. Did anyone see the Donnybrook at the end of the Omaha/DU game immediately following Omaha’s empty net goal?
  14. A very good buddy of mine who’s a big CC and Northeastern fan and just an all around big time college hockey fan went to a CC/St. Cloud series. Suffice it to say, his experience was so bad, they didn’t even bother going to the Saturday night game. They ate their tickets and drove down I-94 and attended the Gophers/Harvard game instead.
  15. Been to Duluth, Denver, Omaha, and Miami (not counting CC as I’m a season ticket holder for Tiger hockey). By far, the best arena and experience I’ve had was in Oxford. Nice arena-small and intimate and great college atmosphere. Oxford totally is a college town, lots of bars and restaurants downtown. Not many hotels though, had to stay outside of Cincinnati and rent a car to get to Oxford each game night. Omaha is a close second. Been there many times for both UND and CC series. Fans have always been nice and hospitable and Baxter Arena is nice-open air concourse. Lots of bars and restaurants right across the street within walking distance. Denver is ALWAYS a blast. Partly because of the intense rivalry between the two programs. Nothing sweeter to my ears than when North Dakota scores and hearing the roar of the HUGE sea of green that invades Magness Arena every series there! I still remember Poolman scoring in overtime a few seasons back and how deafening the North Dakota fans were and how quiet the DU fans were. Duluth. Hard to say because I attended a series between the dogs and CC and Duluth easily skated past the Tigers. So between two easy wins and no real rivalry between the two teams, the atmosphere was kind of dull. However I bet UND fans who’ve gone to games there will attest differently.
  16. Totally. Watching that 5 min PP you wouldn’t know that at one point just a few weeks ago, they had the #1 PP in the nation converting at 38%. They look tonight like they can’t get out of their own way.
  17. That was crazy! Wondering if Howard’s punch was the manifestation of growing frustration over his team’s (and his) performance and knowing that his job security is on the line?
  18. I recently watched an interview with Wolverine Kent Johnson and it came down to two schools for him he said….Michigan and UND. He didn’t go into details as to why he didn’t choose UND but he was complimentary of the program. Who knows why a kid ultimately chooses the program he ends up at, it could be a myriad of reasons. Check out this interview from a few months back. Great interview with Johnson but go to about the 42:30 mark to hear what he had to say about choosing Michigan and not North Dakota.
  19. And it was a heads up, opportunistic play by Jamernik and a sweet goal to boot!
