I thought he looked pretty solid last night in the 3rd. The Chargers out-shot CC 14-10 and at least a third of those were good scoring opportunities. That said, Marble is unproven as he got hurt very early on last season so we'll see how he does.

Highly touted Chase Perry got yanked after giving up 3 goals in the second period to Huntsville. Looks like Tyler Marble will be the starting goalie on Friday against UND.

Can't tell if CC is that bad or Huntsville is that much improved (probably a degree of both). I liked CC's compete level in periods 1 and 3 but I liked Huntsville's compete level in period 2, particularly considering how they came back from a 2-0 hole. Overall, still some lapses in CC's play but definitely saw a generally higher level of intensity last night than last season (early I know but...).

I never thought game two of the season would be gut check time but that's what it sounds like. I learned the hard way a very long time ago not to get too caught up in the quotes of the players in the sports section the week leading up to a series. I'm sorry you guys had to witness a tough loss.

Very true-kinda like a UND road series at Magness Arena only not quite the mutual venom or intensity.

I don't know exactly but anecdotally speaking, having conversations with the guy at CC who handles season ticket matters, it had been shrinking over the past two seasons. I ended up having a lot of options as far as seat choices if that tells you anything. The good news is, since Haviland got the coaching gig, interest has picked up and season ticket purchase momentum has picked up over the summer.

Got my CC season tickets in the mail yesterday along with a form letter from the new coach stating that his team intends to play an up-tempo, in-your-face style of hockey. I'm sure that sounds cliche but hopefully it's a return to former CC squads. Don't necessarily expect a repeat of Don Lucia's first season at CC back in '94-95 but hopefully we see improvement in intensity and execution.

The only ugly ones are the DU plates, IMO!

They sell designer plates in Colorado for a variety of organizations, hobbies, charities, etc. they charge extra for them so it brings in extra revenue to the state so it's a win-win. I have the CC plates and my girlfriend has the breast cancer plates. I just got an email from the UND alumni assoc. stating we could buy single seat tickets too. $29 each.

If you ever get down to te Springs, check out Bristol Brewery. They make over a dozen brews but they're most known for Laughing Lab. They recently renovated an old grade school and turned it into a collection of bars and restaurants. Great place to go before a CC hockey game.

I received a phone call from the evil empire of DU the other day, soliciting me to buy group tickets for the UND/DU series at Magness. While I can't buy 20 tickets, I did ask if they planned to continue making single game purchasers buy additional DU athletics games as a prerequisite to purchase UND/DU games and he said no...thank god.

Question: I could've sworn UND was going to play a series this fall up in Vermont. However, I don't see the Catamounts on UND's non-conference schedule. Am I wrong? Can anyone let me know what happened? Thanks, Dan

Gazette article says that Haviland was dismissed from the Blackhawks in 2012. Curious as to why.
