It took DU all of a minute, twenty three seconds to go up 1-0....and only another 23 seconds to go up 2-0....It's gonna be a long night...

I'd put our goaltending at an advantage over theirs. I'm calling for a 4-3 win for the good guys in green.

I'd also add that CC's current mess of a situation is the result, in large part, because of Owens.

Haviland doesn't have much to work with right now. If they are playing this way in a few years, then we should be talking coaching change. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict CC will play with some pride this Friday at DU. The odds are against CC winning but I bet it will be decided by less than 2 goals (which would be huge considering four of their six losses have been by more than four goals).

Yah, she used to work for what is now called Root Sports. She left a few years ago for a tv gig out in California I believe.

Let's Go DU! was a great source for all things anti-CC and ESPECIALLY anti-North Dakota. I loved reading DU fans' posts about how dumb and in-bred North Dakota fans are. The same tired jokes we've all heard before. The venom spewed by some of the DU fans (Goddard not included), was pretty sad, really. That said, I miss Let's Go DU! For the information we could get about DU hockey as well as the administration's stance toward Boone.

I'm disappointed MacMillan didn't travel with the team this weekend. Even though he can't play right now, he's one of their leaders and I think his presence with the team, particularly in the locker room as well as any insights he could have given the boys from the stands, would have been helpful.

I'm a casual Air Force fan but I gotta say congrats to Mike Corbett and his Chargers for a great weekend in Colorado Springs! There's a nice article in the Gazette Telegraph about the program and the players are all very complimentary of Corbett and how positive he is, despite their struggles last season winning games. I went to the CC/Huntsville series last month and not to say CC is a powerhouse (because they clearly aren't) but Huntsville played a good, hard series and never gave up despite being down a couple of goals in each game. They clawed their way back into both of them when they easily could've packed it in. The Chargers will definitely win more than 2 games this season, that is for sure.

Thanks for the history lesson on Tech hockey-myself included, barely knew of their rich hockey tradition as many of us were either not even born yet or were too young to remember. Great story too about your '04 trip up to Houghton. It's been one of my regrets not getting up there for a series.

Excellent points by all who've responded. It is early in the season, lots of hockey left to be played, many upsets cited, lots of good examples of that. Thanks for putting it in perspective.

I just posted this on another thread but wanted to ask everyone here if it means anything to them that Air Force lost at home last night to Alabama-Huntsville 4-2, less than a week after being 29 seconds away from beating UND, a top five team, on the road. Is Huntsville that good or are we a little over-rated?

So less than a week after pushing UND, the #2 team in the nation and I'm their barn, to overtime, Air Force loses at home to Huntsville, 4-2. Am I be reading too much into this regarding how good UND really is?

I think there was an element of both.
