Glad UND won in two but proud of my CC boys for what at least sounded like a close competitive game. Hopefully Haviland and co. can hit the recruiting trail and find some skill guys who are finishers.

My predictive abilities are suspect but I'll still say that tonight's game will be a close one. I'll say UND only wins by one or two goals.

That would be fun! This conference realignment seems to have improved the "smaller" schools' place in college hockey.

Personally, I have no objections to teams doing a stick salute-win or lose. As a CC season ticket holder, I got to see plenty of them following a loss at home. I took it as their sign of appreciation to the fans (the few of us who consistently showed up for games) for our support. Stepping off the pedestal now.

Union up 2-0. I realize this is very early in a best of three series but would a Quinnipiac series loss bounce them out of the top 15 and consideration for the NCAA tournament?

Is it out of the rhelm of possibility that, after their season ends, Wisconsin fires Eaves and then goes after Gwozdecky? After all, Gwoz played his college hockey there and we all know his successful track record at DU.

Marble's been playing well, CC plays UND tough at the Ralph but in the end, our depth is too much for CC. I'm going with 3-1. J. Schmaltz, Parks, and Gaarder.

I wish I could come up to GF for the series to see my two favorite teams. I will, however, be at Magness to watch the Dogs and Pioneers and I'll be cheering on Duluth for the ultimate of reasons....spite!

I'm going with a sweep as well. As dinged up as UND is, CC has been playing with a short bench too and, all else being equal, UND still has more talent and depth than the Tigers. The only thing I'd caution UND on is, CC is pretty much playing with house money-they finished dead last, season is on the verge of ending, and nobody expects much from them. I think the pressure to win on Friday is more on UND.

I saw Miami in person a few weeks ago at World Arena (and, I know that as a CC fan far be it for me to critique anyone...but I will!) and Miami didn't exactly look like world beaters to me. Both games were rather pedestrian if you ask me. Yes, they won both but they didn't dominate.

I thought I heard that UND purposely waited until all the Miami fans had left the ice before returning for pictures? Wasn't it Hennessy who said how classy that was of UND? I guess I just would've assumed that Hak and Blasi would've come to an agreement on that beforehand?

Supposedly, it's on FCS channel 623 but when I called and spoke with a customer service rep, he said it's on channel 608. Unfortunately, soccer is on 608.

They really oughta play in a smaller arena. Never liked the atmosphere at their current barn. Too big, too many empty seats.
