5-1, UND. LSSU will hang tough for a period or two but our depth will be too much. A couple of insurance goals will be scored in the 3rd.

I checked the tv listings and if you're one of the unlucky ones like me who lives outside the NoDak viewing area, there is some college hockey on tv tomorrow night. All three BIG games as well as BC/UNH will be on.

For those of you unable to go to or view the UND game this Saturday but would like to watch some college hockey, I just found out that the game between CC and Duluth will be televised on Dish Network channel 413 and Direct TV channel 681. Game time is 6pm Mountain/7 Central.

I paid $370 for my pair of CC season tickets this season. Yah yah, there's a pretty good reason for why they're so cheap!

I wasn't comparing UND to CC or anyone else for that matter. Simply highlighting the enviable position UND fans are in right now even having this debate. Believe it or not, there are fans of "lesser" programs who have expectations of winning nattys just as much as UND fans. Losing in the FF back in '05 to DU hurt just as much as the UND defeats in their respective FF's.

Ask any CC fan what they'd chose since 1957...I think they and other schools of their ilk would take UND's consistent success any day of the week and twice on Sunday. If any of you have forgotten those difficult years of the early 90's of Sioux hockey, try being in my position as a CC season ticket holder as well as someone who has traveled several times the past three seasons to watch them play road games only to watch them lose, and at times, lose badly. I can't even begin to explain how difficult it's been sometimes to watch them play but I continue to go because I love the program and I want to see them succeed. I'm not trying to turn this into a conversation about the woes of Tiger hockey, I'm just trying to give some perspective on things and hope UND fans realize what we're all debating right now is such a good and enviable position to be in. I would bet fans of at least 50 other college programs would trade for UND's track record. In the past, I've lamented Hakstol, criticized him too but in hindsight, at times, I was just frustrated over a big loss and was looking for a pound of flesh, an easy target to blame. Hakstol is to be commended for his body of work and the product he delivers year in and year out. Yah, he's not had the success we'd all like in the FF but let's remember the talent level of the opposition...these weren't exactly the Anchorages or Techs of the college hockey world we were losing to either. End of my rant.

Watch, Dish will schedule a UND-LSSU JIP game this weekend but with my luck, they'll end up showing the Arkansas co-ed high school badminton state championship in its entirety instead.

Air Force is one of the lower ranked teams in the country too and we saw what they almost pulled off a few weeks ago. Hopefully the team will prepare as if this were a series against Miami, Minnesota, etc.

I like the fact that the 7th place team in the NCHC opened up a can of whoop a$$ this past weekend in their tournament against Non-conference foes OSU and Union. It speaks to the quality of our conference. I think the fact that virtually every team in the NCHC is in a dog fight with one another will make us battle-tested come tournament time. I wouldn't be shocked to see UND (and everyone else except, perhaps, CC) continue to have splits and see their rankings fluctuate.
