Un-related to the chirping, I watched the game down in Colorado Springs on local station KRDO and they had the Midco broadcast with Hammer and Brandt but during intermission went to C. Spgs sports guys and they did a story about Hunter Fejes and how, when he was a young boy, a road rage guy ran him and his mom off the road, they lost control of the car and rolled, and his mother later died from injuries. It was a really sad, touching story. So while I was pulling for UND, I felt good for Hunter and the great game he had.

Denver has clawed back from a 2-0 deficit to lead Duluth 3-2 late in the third. Duluth has to be the biggest disappointment in the conference. High expectations have not been met thus far.

I hear you but to me, Denver will always be my most hated conference foe (this also probably has to do with the fact I'm a CC fan and Denver has had our number). Your point is valid though, Omaha is a team I used to pull for but find it harder and harder to do so lately.

I'm confident that CC's performance at St. Cloud got North Dakota's attention. A much improved CC team will play UND tough. That said, UND's depth and defense can match up with CC's top line.

I didn't see it but I heard UND looked flat in the Friday game against Wisconsin.

Plus, it's worth noting that a lot of St. Cloud's shots came in the third period when CC had already built a 5-1 lead and by that point, CC played a much more defensive posture in order to simply protect their lead.

I totally agree-while Wodon may make some valid counter-arguments, I kept waiting for him to address the Notre Dame fund raiser bit but he seems to have cherry picked what he was going to focus his critique on.

CC has been playing much better hockey the past month and a half. Two weeks ago at St. Cloud was their best weekend of the season-and all that without the services of their leading scorer Trey Bradley who was suspended two games by the league for a nasty head contact check down in Huntsville. UND should not-and will not-take CC lightly but I still think UND has way more depth and should win both games. CC I think has found their goalie in freshman Jacob Nehama so get lots of pucks to the net and greasy goals, like Sanderson's fantastic, gritty goal last night.

In light of some here inferring that UNO is jealous of UND, would that mean UNO would be UND's version of "Jan Brady State"? Or is that distinguished nickname reserved only for SCSU?

As much I don't care for the Bison, I think it would elevate hockey at every level in North Dakota if NDSU had a D-I program. I find it hard to believe there isn't a contingent of wealthy NDSU alums who follow the game who haven't/wouldn't step up similar to the guy out in Tempe and help fund a program. The Sheels Center would be the perfect location in the near- and mid-term and if the sport grew in popularity, they could always consider building a bigger, on-campus arena. What great regional rivalries with UND, Omaha, St. Cloud, and Mankato, to name a few NDSU could have once they're established. I believe a rising tide lifts all boats and this could be great for western expansion of the game and could really propel ND high school and youth hockey as more and more kids would want to play hockey due in part to the interest a Bison hockey team would generate. Someone else mentioned it too that could you imagine the rivalry between UND and NDSU?!?! I would guarantee the Ralph would be packed to the gills when the Bison come to town-and vice versa!

I was trolling over on the St. Cloud fan forum and they're all standing on the ledge about to jump. Complete and utter dis-belief that their boys lost to lowly CC.

I bought four tickets for both Friday and Saturday night games at Magness arena Feb 12-13 for me, my fiancé, and my parents. Long story short, my parents can't come so I'm looking to sell two of the four tickets for each game at what I paid for them-face value at the DU box office last fall. NHL Network re-aired the Canada/Finland game this afternoon. With just under ten minutes left in the game and a tie game, there was a penalty called on Canada and the camera went in on the Canada team bench and did any of you catch the team Canada fan sitting behind the Canada coach tear to shreds a paper Finland flag??? I couldn't believe what I was seeing! He and his buddy were laughing about it as the guy tearing it up was so boisterous about it too! Very disrespectful.

What's up with Siouxsports.com? There's no weekend preview for te series this weekend and the site has been off and on all weekend.

DU and Notre Dame went to the three-on-three OT. Wow! It was everything it was billed to be! Both teams with some great chances!

UAH played as expected-they knew they were the less skilled team and they packed it in tight in their D zone and must've iced the puck about twenty times tonight.

Totally. And you're right-they have two solid goaltenders....that can help an inferior team any day. Side bar-I'd strongly recommend folks make a trip down to Huntsville to visit the NASA space and rocket museum. That was a blast! (pun intended)
