Living in Denver, I'm just glad I won't be receiving any calls from my colleagues who are Pios fans (they like to call me up whenever they beat North Dakota) and rub it in.

I just saw a picture of Coach Berry holding the National Championship Trophy with Michelle at Darcy's!

Most of you guys and gals know I'm a CC Tiger fan AND a UND fan. I had that "here we go again" feeling as well as some of you and said so to my gf. She, being somewhat new to college hockey, said similar encouraging words about keep the faith, plenty of time to regain the lead, etc. she being primarily a Tiger fan, she wasn't nearly as nervous as I was but when Buchigross asked out loud, "who will score the goal of their lifetime?" late in the third period, Kate said, "Schmaltz, that's who!" and at that moment it gave me some levity and brought a smile to my face. Am I naive enough to think Kate has super human predictive powers? -No. But her positivity in light of my pessimism really helped me deal with such a stressful period. So proud of the boys and grateful UND has the most passionate fans, bar none, in all of college hockey if not all of college sports.

Regardless, I respect the fact that we no longer hang participation banners up like we did at the old Engelstad Arena. CC had loaded up the World Arena with participation banners and here they've only won two National titles. It leads to a lot of ridicule, particularly from DU fans. Glad to see only conference and national championship banners hanging in the Ralph, regardless of what logo/moniker is on them.

With how well Johnson played this season and with a high end goalie recruit coming in (next season?), is that a sign Tomek might transfer?

My first impression of Drake Caggiula was his freshmen season. UND was down a goal very late in the game at CC. I believe Simpson or Gleason tied it up with the goalie pulled. And then, about a minute or two into OT, Caggiula scored the game winner. An absolute bullet that went top shelf (where grandma keeps the peanut butter as Ken Landau, the CC radio guy, likes to say) that the CC net minder never even saw. That shot was just epic and a sign of many, many great things to come.

I could but then I'm sure our wedding will get called off by my fiancé!

Yah, my fiancé thought that was pretty knarly. I've asked her if I could hold onto these unwashed items for next season and she emphatically said, "hell no!"

For the record, I wore the exact same socks, undershirt and underwear (unwashed of course) for all four games for good luck!

If you turn your drawers inside out, you get at least another 3-4 days out of them.

After UND's win last night, I admitted to my fiancé that I wore the same socks, underwear, undershirt, pants, shirt, and shoes. Kinda gross but, hey, it worked!

If Miami were to go to the Big, and a CCHA conference was formed, who'd make up the six teams in the CCHA? -Western, BG, NMU, MTU, Ferris, and who else am I missing?

They also went to Notre Dame and swept them in the HE quarterfinals.

From my vantage point DU controlled play almost the entire 3rd period against SCSU but could only muster 5 shots. St. Cloud kept DU to the perimeter and prevented any of those passing lanes and back door passes that DU likes to make.

So who's out?

After the third place game some UND fans were heading out to go over to the Excel.

Question: Let's say Duluth, Northeastern, and Minnesota all win tonight. Who's out of the tournament as a result? Would Yale be out?

We were at Target Center today and saw a lady Badger fan with a sign that read, "Hey BIG Hockey, look where I'm spending my dollars!"

My better half came up with a new cheer for Omaha fans: "MOO YAH YAH! YAH MOO MOO!"

So some Gopher fans are still harping on 0.6 over on the comments section of an article in the Star Tribune. It would be a classic dig if it weren't for the fact that the Gophers laid a big ole egg two nights later against Union (thank you Union!).

But then I realized she hadn't because we had more fans at our game!

I'm telling ya, when I first saw this picture, I thought my girlfriend took it at Family Sports Arena in Centennial, CO last Sunday night at my old man league game!

Sounds like my beer league team, Trainwreck, gets more fan support from its girlfriends, wives, and kids than what the BIG tournament is generating.
