  1. Wow, this video gave me goose bumps. Hard to say he isn't one of the all-time greats at North Dakota! For the cynics in Edmonton already questioning Caggiula's skill and toughness, they aughta first do their homework as well as give him the chance to prove himself. Not fair to impugn him or the college hockey game, for that matter, simply because Justin Schultz didn't work out in Edmonton (see fan comments in attached article). To call Caggiula soft is simply a sign of one Oilers fan's ignorance. http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/edmonton-oilers/oilers-appear-to-have-landed-highly-touted-college-prospect One of my favorite memories of Caggiula is his OT winner in Colorado Springs his freshmen season. I posted this once before but it's so worth repeating. He absolutely buried the shot just under the bar, the CC goalie didn't even see it. Just one of several examples of this guy's knack for finding the back of the net. I admire the fact that he not only scores skill goals but also he isn't a prima Dona-he goes hard to the net, finishes his checks, and back checks like a mo fo. Thanks for so many great memories and special moments, Mr. Caggiula!

  3. This was the first time I've read the attached article. Did Tambellini win the championship that year with The Hitmen?
  4. When do UND and Minnesota play next season?
  5. I'd buy one even if it only came out on VHS or Betamax!
  6. What has Pecknold had to say?
  7. DU has also shown a pattern of social climbing the past decade since they went DI. I can't keep track of all the non-hockey conferences they've been in and out of. They seem to change conferences more often than I change my socks. This is another reason why I could see them easily bolting the NCHC (despite being a key founding member) if the BIG came calling.
  8. I can't knock Anas for anything during the FF or the national tournament in general. Did you guys see the hit that was laid on him in that game against Harvard? I give him full props for hangin in there and playing as much as he could.
  9. Just one guy's opinion-yah, QU hit some posts and had a few opportunities and the score was close for two periods but to me, it felt like so many times when a less talented team hangs around for a bit but as the game wears on, the talent and depth of the other team simply takes over. Coming into the game I was nervous simply based on all the success and accolades thrown at Quinnipiac, and for good reason-they're a great hockey team. However, it didn't take me or I'm sure many other viewers, long to determine that this game was UND's to lose.
  10. DU seems like the logical school for the BIG to invite-academically, they fit the BIG profile, I believe DU has the largest endowment of the member NCHC schools, the Denver market seems to fit the large market profile that the conference seems to like, and DU is really strong in lacrosse which would be another good addition to BIG lacrosse.
  11. I wonder what UND winning the national championship does regarding conversation of joining the BIG?
  12. I wonder if games like this and Las Vegas in a few years serve as recruiting tools?
  13. Oh, right on. I forgot about that one!
  14. Dude, Grain Belt is da bomb yo! I can't get it out here in Colorado so my dad brings me a few cases whenever he comes out here! That and Sprechters Root Beer from Menards!
  15. If some of these guys don't have the skill to make it to the show, I'll gladly take them on my beer league team! Hell, I'll even pay their annual dues!
  16. Just got two tickets in sec 104 row 14. This is Kate's and my honeymoon. Man, I'm lucky to have such a cool fiancé! She was never a big hockey fan let alone UND fan and she's always way cool about taking hockey trips! And she enthusiastically cheers for UND even though she's a CC Tiger!
  17. Not sure if there's a more appropriate thread but does anyone know who we have on our non-conference schedule next season and where (other than BC at MSG)?
  18. Thanks. Yah, I use Shazam all the time but here, I was listening to the post game on my phone through I heart radio so I couldn't Shazam it.
  19. Question: did anyone listen to Tim Hennessy's montage after the championship game and post-game interviews? They put together a collection of play-by-plays from over the course of the season set to music. I really liked the song but have no clue the name of the song or artist but would like to buy it on iTunes. Would anyone be able to help me? It was kind of a poppy song. Please help this metal head, I'd really appreciate it!
  20. "Seven years of college down the drain."
  21. Danton Heinen leaving DU has gotta hurt. Had he stayed all four years, he would've been on pace to score almost 190 points. That guy got bigger and stronger over his past two seasons and is ready for the next level. Best of luck to him with the Bruins organization and I say this with the utmost respect for him-as a CC and UND fan, I'm glad he's gone! What a great player.
  22. Did anyone hear the Caggiula interview this morning on the NHL Network Stellick and Simmer show? It was awesome. When Caggiula isn't dropping F bombs on air, he's very articulate and mature!
  23. I saw Boeser do this in Vermont. UND was on a power play and Boeser was on the point and dove to stop a clearing attempt, collected the puck and fed (I believe) Schmaltz for a goal. The Vermont fans were in awe.
