University of North Dakota Hockey 2017-18 Season
Godsmack replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
I stand corrected....it was his junior year he had his personal best scoring-wise. That said, Rowney was a great example of what a hard working 4 year student-athlete looks like. Pogo will be a fantastic captain. -

I think both you guys are right about Pogo and Rowney. Rowney did have a break out year scoring-wise his senior year and he and Pogo share a lot of traits. -
On NHL Network this morning, the talking heads were saying that Oshie is/was Washington's most complete player. I wonder if the Capitals have the cap space to sign him as I bet he's going to get a huge raise where ever he goes. What does he currently make, about $4.5 mill right now?
-
Granted he went low in the draft but he's been drafted nonetheless so in his mind, he's got a lot at stake and being a consistent healthy scratch isn't going to help him develop so I don't fault him one bit for transferring to CC where he'll get to play hockey with his kid brother. Plus, given the lack of talent as compared to UND, he should have no problem cracking the lineup as well as being out on the ice in key situations.

I think a guy could get arrested for posting his D on a public forum like this. -

I wish I could take credit for that fine work of art but I can't. However, I thought it would work well for the redesigned sweaters! -

Is Rowney playing tonight for Pittsburg? I haven't heard his name.
-
I say yes-the guy is a chump, he hasn't accomplished a thing in Chicago in over a season. Fire Quennville and hire Haviland!

I sure hope UND (the REAL UND) doesn't bolt the best college hockey conference for the B1G.
-
I wonder if DU might be a potential target of the B1G as their 8th member. Large market, known brand, good academics, large endowment. Wouldn't shock me in the least if they were to fail grabbing UND, they went after DU.

A former co-worker of mine is a Duluth alum and a few months ago, he told me that this year was the year the Dogs needed to win it all because next season will be tough for them personnel wise. Just one guy's opinion but he's a Duluth alum and close follower of Bulldog hockey so I tend to believe him.

Did they say which conference the officials for last night's game were from?

Who's Friedman?

My wife wants to add that I'm a dork...

I think DU's win along with UND from last year solidifies the NCHC as the second best hockey conference in the country....behind the SSAHL (South Suburban Adult Hockey League) of course.

Question: does the NCHC get any $ from the NCAA for getting two teams in the FF and then winning it all?
-
-
Totally. Thought for sure Olson would get a 5.

Don't recall seeing a pep band at Magness. Wonder if it's the Cherry Creek High pep band and cheerleaders?
-
So is it true that the Avs chose not to sign him last year and now this year he'll become a free agent and can sign with whomever he wants?

Rumor has it, when CC fired Owens, they were interested in Basin being he had ties to the program (former assistant) but he wasn't interested. He was interested in building Lowell into a powerhouse program and thus far, I think he's succeeded. Being upset two weeks ago to a Notre Dame team they had recently easily beaten doesn't diminish Basin's accomplishments of turning the Riverhawks into a Hockey East power and national contender, IMO.

Question: what does the NCHC receive for $$'s from the NCAA for having a team(s) make the Frozen Four and/or winning it all? Also, if our conference receives any money, is it equally distributed among the member institutions?
