  1. Damn refs missed an elbow to the head by DU.
  2. Ahem, yes, the Tilted Kilt is a very fine establishment!!!
  3. So true! If driving up from the south, you might want to get off I-25, head west, and then go north on University Blvd. You can avoid potential bumper to bumper traffic on the interstate.
  4. Yah, LoDo in downtown Denver is the place to be if you're staying downtown. There's also a bunch of bars and restaurants on the 16th street mall with a free bus line that runs up and down the mall. If you don't feel like dealing with the hassles of driving and parking at Magness, you can buy a ticket to take the light rail. The light rail has two stations downtown that run up and through DU. There's a station within eye sight of Magness that you get off at. It's called University Station.
  5. I cracked up at what Clay Matvick said after Elliot Elliason for the Gophers got the technical foul, "that'll give him time to go to the bench and comb his beard."
  6. I know there's been a few DU players quoted as saying how many UND fans are in their barn and how it can feel like a home game for North Dakota.
  7. I'd say roughly 30-40%. It's crazy how much green is in the stands and how loud UND fans can get. Of course, when DU scores, their fans can get pretty loud too!
  8. Yah, they are a very well- balanced team. They're getting production from their upper class men-Daniel Doremus, Joey LaLeggia, Quenton Shore, Zac Larraza, and Nolan Zajac but their leading scorer is a freshman by the name of Danton Heinen. This kid is for real, watched him in the CC series as well as Wisconsin and he played like a senior. I get it-the competition wasn't very good but he's getting points against good teams too like BC and Duluth.
  9. GoalieMask was asking me about bars close to Magness to hang out before and after the games as he'll be coming out for the series. Thought I'd share my response for anyone else coming to Denver... Yah, there's some fun bars within walking distance of Magness Arena! Spanky's Urban Roadhouse, Crimson & Gold Bar, and The Pioneer are just a few that are nearby and will be packed with UND and DU fans! My advice is to arrive early though, otherwise you'll be lucky if you can find a place to stand! Have fun and let's hope UND wins! Dan
  10. I think Gwoz would be an ideal hire. A high-profile name to get some much needed credibility on the recruiting front. If George wanted a project with which to build from scratch from the ground up at the D-I level and have valuable input if/when they build a new arena, that would be the ideal place. Plus, you know ASU has the deep pockets to pay him. The only thing is, I could've sworn I read somewhere that, unlike Penn State, ASU said they'd keep their current coach when they make the transition.
  11. Unless you heard Hennessey's comments I can see how it could be taken out of context. He said that generally, if it was very serious, he'd have already been taken to the hospital.
  12. Hennessy says there's some good news about Stecher...that he's still in the training room rather than the hospital.
  13. God, we need Stecher. I hope it turns out to not be as serious as it sounded.
  14. Hennessy doesn't understand what the penalty on Gaarder is for.
  15. Irregardless (Mafia Man, is that a word?!), Murphy hasn't produced which is a bummer.
  16. Yah, I wasn't trying to defend Murphy or second guess the coaching staff. I'm just wondering out loud if/when a kid decides it's time to move on for a place where he thinks he can play or if he accepts his current role on the team.
  17. Good. I think we want UNO to win in order to keep within striking distance of Miami.
  18. Would you be surprised if Murphy transferred or left to go play juniors? I guess I couldn't blame any kid who's wanting to play but isn't getting the opportunity. A kid from CC just left the program for this reason, I wouldn't hold it against Murphy either.
  19. As much as I don't think Cam should start tonight, I will say that sometimes, starting a backup goaltender can have the effect of making the players in front of him play much tighter defensively. If that's the case tonight, I could see UND playing very assertively in their zone.
  20. When people bail early, does anyone ever chant, "Beat The Traffic!"?
  21. Yep, I think UND is going to score early in this one. No messing around tonight. 7-2, good guys in green.
  22. The risks are too high to start Cam tonight. A loss tonight would really damage our PWR. Start Zane and if we're up 3-4 goals, put Cam in then. Perhaps start him in the Niagra series and definitely start him against the U18 team since those are exhibition games.
