  1. That kid that scored the game winning OT goal looked pretty good, i think is line was on the ice for 3 goals and 0 against.
  2. Stay at home D-men are rarely recognized for awards. But Suter was hyped so much, more people are paying attention to him. I think Murray's numbers put him in place as the favorite. I'm trying to remember the last D-man that won the award, Martin?
  3. Those costs would be covered by 2 or 3 50-50 raffles. How about giving the band a few games to make some $$, the strength and conditioning department has to have enough $$ by now. I don't think anyone is seriously considering Irmen as ROTY, some homer caller to the radio show doesn't mean anything. I think most would agree BM is the leading candidate. The only player that could give him a run for his money would be Stafford, in my opinion anyway. Thanks PCM.
  4. You are correct. The call on Hardwick had to be called - he negated a scoring chance. Sucks to be Hardwick after that game - he had a shot blocked at the point which led to a partial break which led to his penalty which led to the game winner. I agree Orono should have been called for running the goalie, can't believe he continued playing after bashing his head against the pipe (helmet was knocked off). It was nice to see Hibbing win, don't think they have the depth to go much further though.
  5. Get done with class at 8:00, should be able to see some of the game. Wheeler was not the best skater on the ice, should be interesting to see these to go head to head. Warroad has nobody else committed, Hardwick and another D have been talked about on this site, which doesn't necessarily mean anything.
  6. Did anyone see Breck play today? I only saw about 15 min, Wheeler looked very impressive. The announcer said he was a +80 for the year. He reminds me of Danny Heatley - big, strong, good hands. Wish I could see Warroad tonight, damn night class. Should be a good matchup in the finals with Warroad and Breck the likely teams. SHould be interesting to see Oshie against some good competition, Moorhead seems to be the only team that shut him down this year.

Not so, he placed the $100 early on in the year and received $1800 in April, by then he forgot about the $100 he spent. If we are going to get real technical, he had gross winnings of $1800 and net winnings of $1700. Or as I see it he won a hell of a lot more money than I've won (which is $7 on the powerball). Just talked to the old man he put down another $100 on the sioux when he was in Vegas in Jan - odds were 3-1.

Antigua has had an extradition treaty since 96, there are a few Caribbean nations that do not have them, you would probably not want to live in them though. Extradition Treaties Of course I'm not condoning this type of behavior.
  9. I say let them practice in the REA. Publish the times they are practicing and open the rink to the public. Organize as many students as possible to show up to heckle them. At the same time play highlights from UND NCAA championship games on the scoreboard and play American Pie as loud as possible over and over. By Friday half the team would be on prozac.

The odds do not solely reflect the talent of the team. Guido and the boys take into account who is betting, the history (UMD never won), and other factors - injuries etc... As people place bets the odds change to reflect that - they make $$ no matter what. My old man won $1800 in 97 - placed $100 on the Sioux 18-1 odds. I believe MI was something like 3-2 that year. Wish I had that kind of luck.
  11. Can also see the video here -Fights Hockey-fights.com is down.
  12. UND in 2 - Win Sat game 28-0 just to one up MHD High. Greene doesn't fight Scott becuase Scott knocks himself out in the first period of Fri's game falling down because the fool cannot skate. CC in 3 - DU lost their best player and CC wants revenge for getting swept WI in 2 - AA is still AA UMD in 2 - Kato may be the worse defensive team in the history of the game. UM in 2 - SCSU is falling fast - note about Dahl - he did a good job with the players he had this year - problem is he did the same job with the players he had a couple of years ago.
  13. If the Minny makes it this far, they will likely be the #4 seed, meaning they will play the #1 seed Fri night, which would be UND. So either way the Sioux should play the night game. Sorry Dagies you beat me to it, too busy listening to my professor, damn school getting in the way of hockey talk.

    Fun With Numbers

"If there is a potential darkhorse, it could be Duluth," Blais said. DB is a hockey prophet. These guys are not prophets. Famous prediction quotes
  15. That makes no sense, it's hard to tell from a side angle if it was on net. My apologies to the goal judge. The guy in the press box counting shots doesn't understand what a SOG is, but he has an excuse.
  16. Having possible good goals waived off at MN and WI, and having a bad goal allowed vs Tech at home... not even close to evening up, but what can you do. The MN goal was probably the right call, didn't see the WI goal, and the Tech goal was 100% the wrong call so maybe it did even it out a little. Not sure how much credit I'd give to the goal judges, the guy on the away end doesn't understand what a shot on goal is. He counts a shot every time the goalie touches the puck. Fri's game was one of his worse. He gave Tech 2X as many shots as they should have in the 2nd period. Great 15 min delays while they figure out the evidence is inconclusive next season.
  17. Star Trib Article Give me a break. Growing up in Fargo, I got my ass handed to me by Moorhead several times in hockey. I have yet to start picking people off from a bell tower. What are they proposing, having a seperate state tournament for teams with bad seasons? I agree the 27-0 MHD game and the 101-4 BB losses can be discouraging. That is a part of sports, Monticello did win 1 game, I imagine that was seen as a moral victory of sorts. If anything it should give these teams motivation to work harder and for people in the community to get their kids involved with sports instead of seeing how fat they get playing their playstation.
  18. He is a one man national act. Not sure if he ventures outside of hockey, but he's performed at various NHL, AHL, and ECHL games. I said she looked like A forecheck, not the forecheck. I have no idea what forecheck looks like, nor do I have any idea what A forecheck person would look like. It was my futile attempt at humor. As was my 'true' fans reference. I like all of the signs made, good work to you and everyone else that makes them.
  19. I thought he crushed a bean, it looked painfull. A buddy of mine said someone in his section asked if it was part of his act, he said yes. I'm close to the aisle in section 108, it looked like he fell to me. The look on his face made me think he regretted it. If he would have done a header on the ice and died would they have postponed the game? Sorry Forecheck, I thought the girl getting the award looked like a Forecheck. What did they get the awards for anyway? If they don't post on this board they are not true fans. Mrs. Jensen : What exactly are we looking at here? Ted: What do you mean? Mrs. Jensen: Well, I mean, uh is it the um... or the uh... Mary's step-father: Is it the frank or the beans?
  20. It was nice to see the students in 108 come up with some new chants. They were very creative, much better than the who's he, he sucks ____. Personally I appreciate the effort by all those working on the solution rather than whining about Kupchella. To the rest of the fans, it was great to see about 90% stay for the award of the McNaughton trophey. That showed a lot of class and support for the team. I'm the first to rip on ref's for a bad game. How about giving credit for a good game? Mason did an excellant job - let both teams play without it turning into a bloodbath. Look at the other WCHA games last night - Denver won and WI tied on late 3rd period 5X3's. The number of penalties in these games was between 30-40. What was in the bags presented to Forecheck (I'm assuming) and the other fan? What's up with the trumpet guy? Did he almost do a header onto the ice on purpose? If so he's a good actor, looked like it really hurt.

    fan demands

I'm pretty sure electricity hasn't made its way up to Houghton yet. Once Detriot builds an arena that can hold the entire population of the city, they can be the true "hockey town USA" until then Warroad gets my vote.

  23. Personally I like being a critic.
