  1. I never said that, I believe it was Skateshattrick and he proved his point very well. As far as WF dropping the Co-op my info comes from several Shanley/Oak Grove parents and players. WF was going to Grandfather in the players already playing but were phasing it out. Shanley was either going to get their own team or look for someone else to co-op with (likely W/B). I'm confident in my info - how about you?
  2. Mr. Rodriguez, prepare to meet Mr. Federal Executioner, he is eagerly awaiting the chance to meet you.
  3. Actually CA is producing a lot of hockey players. In the next couple of years they will easily surpass ND in the number of D1 products. There is just so damn many people living in the state. They still don't have community teams they are all star teams mostly made up of upper class folks that come from MN,MI or out east that can afford the $10K + it takes to play. My parents neighbors just moved to AZ and their kid plays on a team that plays most of their games in CA and CO, the costs are crazy - imagine flying a team of kids 10-15 times a season. I thought it was funny when ME and BC were playing in the semi's the announcer said Shields from ME has a shorter flight home than Spina from BC. Shields is from Scottland, I think they said Spina was from CA or AZ.
  4. I think Skateshattrick summed things up pretty well. The main thing with Cory is North's hockey program is terrible. Smith has no control over the players, they are expected to coach themselves. During his Sophomore season many of his teamates could be seen smoking in the alley between the Coliseum and Teamsters. A couple players were suspended a few weeks after overdosing on extacy. Why would a kid that has a good chance of playing D1 hockey piss away his chance by not being able to develop at a poor program? By the way Moorhead did not recruit him, his family was moving anyway and decided to move to Moorhead so Cory could have a chance to develop his skills. He had to try out just like everyone else and even played a few periods of JV early in the year. As far as private schools go, MN puts most of them in the same section so they have a very difficult time making it to state. Shanley did not 'take' any players away from other programs. These kids are Catholic and went to Shanley more for the Catholic school experience. Some of these kids are also students at Oak Grove. West Fargo was dropping the Co-Op because they were having to cut too many kids and parents were complaining. If Shanley didn't start a team these kids were either going to Co-Op w/ Wahpeton or be SOL. Fargo has needed another high school team for years. Shanley has done a great job filling that void.
  5. ND loses to MI 2-0. MN plays MI in the semi-finals. CA and WI in the other one. ND outshot MI 25-18, looks like they ran into a hot goalie.
  6. ND loses to MN 2-1, a very good showing for ND. Pittsburg beats Indiana 11-1, since ND beat Pittsburg, they take second in their pool. They must have had a REALLY bad game when they tied Indiana. Another tough game today for ND - take on MI in the quarterfinals. MN plays the NY selects. I believe by taking second ND avoids playing in a 'play in' game to determine who gets sent back to the B level. Deutz/Gifford line had one of the goals against ND - they are the top line for MN. Fylling scored for ND - not bad for a player that "blows" I think it's great that ND can compete with much larger states and cities (Pittsburg has more people than the state of ND).
  7. Looks like they had some goaltending problems, they outshot them pretty bad. Starting goalie gave up 5 goals on 13 shots. MN is in the title game almost every year, there is no shame in losing to them. Hopefully team ND can keep it close and win the tiebraker w/ Indiana (assuming they beat Pittsburg).
  8. Isn't Deek the name of the gay rapist in Pulp Fiction? I asked before but never did here an answer. Palmo sucks? He has as much talent as most Sioux players, but he was lacking in size and strength. He had several injuries over his career that prevented him from getting a regular shift. This year was the only one he was a regular healthy scratch, but so was Massen I suppose he sucks too? From all accounts Palmo is a classy guy who had some bad luck with injuries and being born with a small frame. Bina played in 31 of 41 games, I would consider that playing a lot. His play was a little inconsistent at times, but was much better than most expected.
  9. ND and MN are in the same bracket this year, ND may have a chance as the majority of the top players in the state were seniors. ND won game one 4-2 ND game 1 MN won game one 9-0 see same link and follow MN link. Moorheads Deutz had 5 points - including a hatrick and Gifford had 3 points. Deutz should end up playing D1 hockey the only thing holding him back is his size. Gifford should also play D1 hockey, both will likely play in the USHL next season.

    The War Comes Home

Ya Bush selectively finds the 'poor' people in the country and sends them to war because poor people are too stupid to realize what is going on. The President of the US started a war just to make he and his friends rich, do you realize how stupid you sound? Umm what do the daughters of the Democrat Attorney General of Minnesota have to do with Bush?? Assuming you are confusing Hatch's daughters with Bush's (it is very obvious you are confused), they could not go into an active war zone, not because of special privileges, because it could compromise the commander in chief's objectivity. I'm with PCM you can shove your soapbox where the sun doesn't shine, and I'm not talking about Fairbanks in January.
  11. USCHO Article Congrats to Sandelin, he deserved the award this year.
  12. Word is Stastny and Howe were the best duo in in the USHL, but Spirko was probably the best all around player. I believe Stastny is Peter Stastny's kid, Denver picked up a good offensive player. I haven't seen any of these kids play, can't wait to see them next season, they appear to be the top 3 forwards from the USHL.
  13. I'm sure some of your clients could help you out. "My god, its nothing but carrots and Peyote." Chief Wiggam
  14. I urge everyone to call their representatives and try and make it a capital offense for anyone buying this album who is not related to this idiot. Talk about the dumbing down of America.

    This is Boring

He is only a junior in high school. I believe he was born in 87, the earliest he would play is 05/06.

    This is Boring

Sorry Sicatoka but you should read the dates more closely, the water polo signing period started a couple of months ago.
  17. I've never liked the Blackhawks or people from Boston. I'll concede he's not much of a whiner, the guy plays hurt more than most NHL players. He is one of the best American born hockey players. I really don't hope anyone has their jaw broken. I still don't like him because he spent the majority of his career as a Blackhawk, know he is a Flyer, my two most hated teams and he's from Boston. That is my rational, which is irrational
  18. Sioux Shop The wide selection of Fighting Sioux apparel and souvenirs available at the Ralph Engelstad Arena Sioux Shop attributes to the individuality and uniqueness that our store has to offer. With exclusive brands, such as Nike, ROOTS, Gear and New Era brandishing the shelves, the Sioux Shop carries Fighting Sioux gear that is not sold anywhere else in the world. How many teams have not sold their souls to Nike?
  19. Even better, Flyers face the Wings in the finals. In game 1 Hatcher smashes JR's face beyond recognition for a second time. His jaw is wired shut as the Wings destroy the Flyers in 4 games so we thankfully don't have to listen to him whine.
  20. That is what I've heard. Sheehy is a very nice guy, earned his law degree after playing in the NHL and college hockey at Harvard. He was very near the top of his class at William Mitchell, and was one of the main reasons their school hockey team kicked so much ass.

    UMD vs. Denver

I didn't know Schwabe was Jim Archibald's nephew. After he got a penalty the announcer mentioned how he has a long way to go to catch his uncle. I'm probably going to get the "old news is so exciting" picture for this.
  22. Game Article Palmo had an assist in last nights playoff game. I'm surprised to see him in the CHL, I had heard it is the biggest 'goon' league in the US, those southern folks like their fightin. And tractor pulls, demolition derbies, monster trucks and NASCAR (sorry couldn't resist).
  23. 5:00 central according to the announcers during the first game, but those idiots appear to know very little of anything ( at least the color guy). At least who don't have to listen to him say North Dakooter over and over again. "He's from the Iron Range in Minnesota, lots of good hockey up there." Idiot color guy - "I don't know about hockey but Kevin McHale is from their and so is Bob Dylan".

    UMD vs. Denver

Denver had some injuries to their Defensemen early in the year. Duluth got the lead and sat back on it, Denver came out hard and outplayed them the last half of the game. Caldwell basically took the game over himself. I've never seen a college defenseman move the puck like he did today. Denver does not have the depth, but they have 4 very solid defensemen, two of which are very good two way players. Has a team that finished 5th (or 4th don't remember who had the tie-breaker) in the league ever made it to the NCAA championship game before? Goes to show how strong the WCHA was this year. If Maine wins I'll root for Denver, but really don't care that much. If BC wins, I'm joining the Pioneer wagon train and hoping for a huge Denver win.
