  1. UND 7 Concordia 1 Shots 58-9 HC 2 Concordia 2 Shots 26-23 I'll say UND tightens up defensively and wins 6-0 Shots 52-7
  2. I gotta pick two upsets, WI and Notre Dame. That's right the Fighting Sioux will battle the other politically incorrect teams. I believe Miami used to be the Redskins so we will beat the Crusaders, Miami (formally Redskins), then the Fighting Irish. Unfortunately none of the teams in the East have names the leftists complain about, maybe WI can change their name to the Drunken Krauts.
  3. I agree a close game is not ideal, but I don't think scoring 8 or 9 goals is either. The ideal game for UND imo, is to get up 4-5 goals early in the second period. Then roll four lines, giving more time to the checking lines and make HC chase the puck. Dump the puck, send one forechecker, makes for boring hockey but Sat's game will be much tougher.
  4. I hope your using "expert" loosely. I'd guess the two INCH guys are the only ones who have watched a college hockey game this year. They are the only two to pick against the Sioux Just when I was starting to warm up to INCH.
  5. From todays Forum: Scott Geston letter: Victory sports does not play fair with F-M viewers The Forum - 03/24/2004 After reading the doom and gloom opinions recently submitted by Jim Pohlad and Kevin Cattoor, both of Twins-owned Victory Sports, I felt compelled to respond. The spin tactics these two use are purposely confusing Twins fans, and ignoring the facts, and overlooking the true desires of our customers. We have taken the approach that we simply want to know what our customers want. We have surveyed them, and they overwhelmingly responded that they want Victory Sports made available on an a la carte basis. People who want it can pay for it; others won
  6. The Hobey Baker committed requires the winner to give a coherent acceptance speech in the English language. Sorry Junior.
  7. I asked them for the weekend feed. They probably have an automated response to emails with the words "Victory Sports" that sends this canned reply. Their response was a waste of their time sending it and mine reading it, it contained no information about my request. Not that I was expecting much. But they did come through and put the game on cable access, not sure if this is picking up Victory or something else - who cares they got the job done.
  8. Midco actually emailed me back, maybe it has something to do with me forking over $70+ a month for cable and internet. I'm pretty sure the letter is a form letter, being I specifically asked about getting Victory for this weekend. I guess this is a mute point, being the games are going to be on SSN. Dear Jason, We recently received your request to add Victory Sports Network to the channel line-up. Our Programming Department will carefully consider your request when it is time to review channel changes. We are always open for suggestions and ideas to better ourselves as a company. Thank you for choosing Midcontinent Communications as your cable provider. Best Regards, Tammy R. Customer Service Midcontinent Communications 1-800-888-1300
  9. Next year will be the first in 7 years I won't be able to yell at the TV " LUND- BOHM you idiot LUND-BOHM slow down and pronunciate". I'm sure I'll still find something to yell at Wooger about, any suggestions?
  10. Sorry Basil, I didn't mean the majority of Gopher fans are bandwagon, only the majority around me at the X during the FF. I'm sure many of those drunkin fratboys were in dinky town right after the game.
  11. When I lived in the cities I went to several Sioux Gopher games. Every game at Mariucci the vast majority of Gopher fans were great, very respectful fans. Even after the games at the bars no matter who won they were great. At the Excel center for the Frozen Four, I was chearing for the Gophers (only WCHA team), but was treated very poorly by the fans around me. I was wearing a Sioux hat, the guy in front of me had a WI jersey, every Gopher fan around us gave us crap, two Gopher fans ended up assaulting the WI fan, resulting in all getting tossed. My point - the 'true' Gopher fans are good fans - like Greyeagle and a few others on this board seem to be. Once they started winning - the 'bandwagon' fans came out of there caves. We all know trolls only make noise when they can gloat. What is sad is the large number of bandwagon fans. Every Sioux game (including 2 playoff games) I went to I bought tickets for face value or less the day of the game, there were plenty of empty seats. It appears the majority of current Gopher fans crawled out of their caves and jumped on the bandwagon.
  12. There is no way I'd want to play Duluth again. I'd rather play the Gophers, who beat us the last 2 times, I think that gives us a slight advantage - hungrier players. Not that it matters because Notre Dame will beat both teams.

Victory V.P. of programming Rick Abbott informed me this morning that deals are being struck to bring Gopher Hockey to the rubes this weekend. Apparently a deal is already done with Dish Network to show the games and deals with local cable providers will be done in the next 72 hours if not sooner. The deal includes any games involving Minnesota, UMD or North Dakota. All games will be live, no tape delay. This deal is for this weekend's hockey only. It does not affect the current situation with Twins broadcasts. Jeff Dubay KFAN Radio AM 1130 From prideonice.com

    Matt Greene

Who was he playing with I agree, Fuher had a good tourny. It is ironic that he is the only D man (beside Bina) not drafted, but he is the steadiest D man the Sioux have. He never seems to have a bad game. He is not the flashiest player but he is out on PP, PK and in key situations. He would be a good choice to where an A or C on his jersey next year, imo.
  16. Revenge on those stinking badgers! I'm not that big of a homer (against UM and UMD) just rooting for Fargo North Grad Cory McLean. EDIT wow did the spacing get screwed up, I'll have to work on that. The quote option was my solution.

Everyone has a bad game here and there. On Sat. it seemed both Greene and Jones had uncharacterstic games. How Jones made all tourny is almost as head scratching as Briggs, he was at least -2 or 3 on sat. I thought Smaby was the only D man that had a good game, he is really coming around. That said, I'm glad Greene got his bad game out of the way, rather last weekend than next.

Would they dare to send MI out East? Who is the host school of the midwest? I'd switch MI and UMD, I think there is a little wishful thinking by Jason Moy. Personally I hope CC is in the the Sioux get sent out East - the games will actually be on TV. I think CC is ahead of ND in the PWR, does the commitee use the bonus? How the heck does the CCHA get 5 teams in the tourny? (I see how they do, but still WTF?)
