  1. Final Regular season stats for Mhd and Wrd D1 prospects - (3 Sioux recruits, with the potential for a few more) MHD Chris VandeVelde Sr Fc 27-26-53 Cory Loos Sr Fw 25-10-35 Drew Fisher Sr Fc 16-19-35 Ryan Clukey Sr Fw 13-18-31 Cory Johnson Sr Fc 8-20-28 Matt Becker Sr Fw 8-17-22 Jordy Christian So Fw 6- 6-12 Jon Ammerman Sr D 9-29-38 Brian Lee Sr D 8-17-25 Lee obviously missed a few games for the WJ tourny. Johnson missed 4 or 5 games and Loos missed a few with injuries. Warroad TJ Oshie Sr Fc 30-52-82 Ben Bengston Sr Fw 30-23-53 Josh Brodeen Sr Fc 20-24-44 Joe Harren Jr Fc 6- 9-15 Aaron Marvin So Fc 16-25-41 Kyle Hardwick Sr D 13-40-53 Eric Olimb Sr D 11-34-45 I included Harren because I believe he was injured a good part of the year - he is a very good player despite his low #'s. Marvin may be the best Sophomore in the state.
  2. Because like most Natives they think it is an honor to name their school after a Tribe. Don't blame the Natives for the name change side - it is vastly white leftists who feel they must "protect" those that don't need or want protecting.
  3. Two were brothers named Carlson and one was their cousin named Hanson. This was the player whose father was one of the Hanson Bros (the one named Hanson) Hanson The Carlson that played is no relation as far as I know - although he does kind of look like a goon
  4. I thought Bradford was the most skilled player on the ice. He is very fast and good with the puck - his only downside is his size - he looked about 5-7. Gorowsky looked good, and I would agree the Vokes line was the best - they actually passed the puck around. Carlson also looked very good, his goal was one of the hardest wrist shots I've seen - very Bochenski-ish. One of the Hanson brothers' kid was on the white team - how cool would growing up in that house be? I wonder if his dad taught him to use the foil at an early age?
  5. Rumor is, Dowzak wants nothing more than to wear maroon and gold. I believe he is only a junior this year, so he has some time to change his mind.

    UND LAW ALUM

They just gave us an update on Prof Lee. He was hospitalized with kidney failure and is receiving dialysis. His condition is still critical, but is now stable as the dialysis is working.
  7. I would probably put WI in the top tier. They are a very solid team, although they are a bit young. Here is the scariest thing about WI WI ROSTER There leading scoring Sr is Bruckler They should be the team to beat the next few years in the WCHA. It is nice to see Tech doing well. There is a lot of history in that program.

    UND LAW ALUM

I just found out Professor Randy Lee is in intensive care at Altru. He is listed in critical condition, but they have not said what happened, other than it was for an illness. I know Prof Lee has been at UND forever, and thought his former students would like to say a prayer for him.
  9. Sounds like a fun sport to play - I'm not sure about watching it though. Lacrosse league looking to capitalize on NHL lockout (Edited by moderator -- please don't post copyrighted works in their entirety. Link and quote).

    Sioux Vs DU

After seeing more missed 2-1's, 2-0's and countless other point blank chances, I've come to the conclusion that it isn't bad luck - it is just these guys cannot finish. Parise leaving hurt, but it appears Bochenski leaving was the killer, the Sioux have a ton of set up guys, but no finishers (note to Stafford this should be you). It appears Spirko and Zajac will get there, so the future looks good. However for the rest of this season, I hate to say it, but if the Sioux want success they are going to have to play Jacques Lemaire hockey. I feel dirty for saying this, but how could playing the trap lower their scoring? Lets face it, the Sioux have the best D-core in the country, but are lacking in offense. The trap is about as exiciting as watching the zamboni resurface, but if it produces some wins, I say go for it. Maybe the Sioux could replay what Denver did last year. Goon - saw the replay on TV - it was not in - hit the crossbar then the DU goalies skate, but never crossed the line - good call by the GJ.
  11. These teams are almost always like that - between HS players coming and going, injuries, homesickness, trades and kids just getting cut. I see Deutz from Moorhead was recently dropped by Indianapolis, hopefully he can catch on somewhere else.
  12. Did you give her your card
  13. This guy makes Russell Means look like Mr. Rogers. Here is the prof's bio Marxist Prof I wish I could get a six figure income for being a complete wack-job like this dude. Maybe I should start reading communist/socialist propaganda and talk about overthrowing the government.
  14. Did anyone save a pm from either of these clowns? If so post their IP addresses and I will look up where they are typing from.
  15. MHD finally beat Centennial in one of the better HS games I've seen. Anderson was a non-factor (his goal w/ 9 secs left obviously didn't matter). VandeVelde's second goal was nice. Lee didn't score, but played a good physical game. Centennial wasn't able to forecheck him at all, he skated the puck out about a dozen times. 10 of his 14 pm's were from a 10 minute misconduct at the end of the game. Morinville must tell Cory to find the best player on the opposing team and beat the hell out of him, he and Anderson were going at it all night. Moorheads last home game is next Sat against a very good Bloomington Jefferson team. Something I found amusing was Nike/Bauer gave the entire MHD team brand new equipment/composite sticks to "test". I imagine only the HS teams that will be on TV in the spring were apart of this "experiment".
  16. Omaha is really turning into a hockey city. The Lancers have had a ton of support - I'm not sure about UNO, but they appear to be getting some good recruits. I've noticed the youth teams that come up hear are starting to get pretty good. 7-8 years ago they were terrible. Omaha is great city, I'd like to see the frozen four there some year. Their downtown has really turned around the past 10 or so years.
  17. VandeVelde with a four point night - he has really hit a scoring stride. Lee with one point - he has dissapeared since the WJ tourny. EGF played MHD pretty tough. FIRST PERIOD: 1, M, Loos (C. Johnson, VandeVelde) 4:42 (pp). 2, EGF, Morin (Tice) 12:30. 3, M, Fisher (VandeVelde, Clukey) 14:04. 4, EGF, Nikle (Boppre) 15:35 (pp). 5, M, Ammerman (Lee, Loos) 15:52 (pp). SECOND PERIOD: 6, M, C. Johnson (Lofgren, Loos) :34. 7, EGF, C. Solem (Strandell, T. Solem) 1:01. 8, EGF, Boppre 1:52 (ps). 9, M, Clukey (VandeVelde, T. Johnson) 14:09. THIRD PERIOD: 10, M, Becker (J. Christian, T. Johnson) 5:00. 11, M, Fisher (VandeVelde, Ammerman) 11:09. 12, M, C. Johnson (Loos, Lofgren) 12:51. SAVES: EGF, Aubol 11-11-6--28. M, Deutz 6-1-7--14.
  18. South will always have coaching problems in that parents will be upset no matter what happens. Wilson has not cut so many kids every year he ends up creating some enemies. He is in a lose-lose situation, one I would never want. IMO Wilson does an ok job, but no Fargo coach has shown any interest in going the extra mile for their probam. It appears Pivetz is starting to for Shanley by helping to develop their youth program. Personally I think Smith was behind most of South's past success, he developed some great JV teams - most of which ended up being average varsity teams. Back to the topic the RR-Central game was pretty good. Vigen hit a kid from Central harder than any hit I've seen this year - at any level. Stadstad from Central looked pretty good. I still wasn't real impressed with Marto. I thought Vigen was probably the only legitimate D1 prospect, although he may be a step slow. As far as South relying on one line this year - they are probably the deepest team in the state. They have three pretty good lines.
  19. He probably doesn't remember Seriously, a lot of post-concussion injuries occur after repeated contact to the head that result in very minor concussions. Often times the player doesn't notice the minor concussion and doesn't realize anything is wrong until post-concussion syndrome sets in. Most likely there wasn't a particular shot to the head that caused the problems. Hopefully he hasn't had this before and he can come back 100%, whether it be this season or the next.
  20. Bemidji has a really good line, but I believe they drop off after that (MI Techish?). I heard the kid from Roseau (Erickson?) is hurt, I know he is one of their leading scorers. If he isn't playing that takes away a big offensive threat. They had a really good goalie, but I believe he graduated last year. They should be weak in net, although they do have former Sioux recruit Sedevie, he had some talent before he blew his knee out. I imagine they are a good team for the Sioux to actually start scoring some goals against. However I wouldn't be surprised to see some close games if the Sioux continue to have trouble finishing.
  21. I'm gonna tell your Mom All of a sudden this board has a few people resorting to personal attacks. Maybe I now know why most people have anonymous names. If the Sicatoka did work for UND that would make him a government employee, I would expect no less of a government worker to spend there days on internet chat rooms.
  22. In GF they allow students with little courtroom experience to try DUI cases, they never lose. DUI's are like meth - they are buzz words that the public has little sympathy for. With good reason. The breathalyzer machines they use now (not the field ones) are very accurate and run diagnostic tests that make it almost impossible for them to be wrong. If the cops do everything by the book and the machine prints out a good test there is little a defense lawyer can do. There is no nullification for sympathy in these cases.
