  1. Your fans are making way to big a deal about the cow bells. People don't shake them the whole game. Just when UNO does something good. Which I hope is quite often
  2. Good article http://www.omaha.com/article/20101115/MAVS/711159859/-1#blais-ready-for-series-against-former-team One thing that could hurt more UNO fans from coming to the hockey game is that our new UFL team the OMAHA Nighthawks are at home on Friday. They have been averaging over 25,000 fans at the games. The fact that it might be cold and the Nighthawks cannot make the playoffs might keep some fans away and then Saturday night the Huskers are on TV. IF we lose Friday night, I fear that people will just stay home and watch Nebraska play. Any questions about what to do in Omaha feel free to ask. Can't wait til Friday!!!
  3. UNO fan here. Excited you guys are finally coming to Omaha. Should be a great series. Have much respect for your program and history. I do think we win at least one game this weekend. Coach Blais will have the boys ready.

Rumor has it that he is not long for UNO. I have heard that he sold his house and is renting right now. I was also told that he wanted the AD job and he is still sore for not getting it. Again alot of rumors. Take it for what it is worth.
  5. Not sure why your glad he is not coaching there when he is a missed field goal away from winning 6 out of the last 6 games in the series. I understand that things didn't work out for him up there. But he has taken a program that doesn't have the resources nor the fan support that the Sioux does pretty dang far. No he has not gotten very far in the playoffs but to diss him as a coach is a mistake. One thing is for sure he always has his boys ready to play the Sioux. On a sad note, Coach Berhns dad passed away the day of the game and it took away much of the joy of the big win away.
  6. Was at the game today rooting for the Mavericks but your Sioux seem to want it more and pulled off a 1-0 upset. I still think we are in the drivers seat for the conference title. Nice win Sioux.
  7. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=1457128 We got a new coach but it sounds like he is on a one year trial.
  8. Kevin McKenna returned to Creighton on Friday with the idea that it could help him become an NCAA Division I head basketball coach. Kevin McKenna But Creighton coach Dana Altman and athletic director Bruce Rasmussen said McKenna's hiring as an assistant doesn't mean Altman's eventual successor has been put in place. "Absolutely nothing like that has been discussed," Altman said. "I wouldn't try to influence the university in any way like that. Brian Fish would be a good head coach, and so would Darian DeVries. Kevin was hired to be an assistant coach." McKenna, 46, took the University of Nebraska at Omaha to unprecedented heights in his four-year stay, winning 89 games and leading the Mavs to three Division II tournaments and two North Central Conference titles. NCC regular-season champs in 2004 and 2005. He resigned Friday to fill the opening created at Creighton when Greg Grensing left for a position at UNLV in May. He joins Fish and DeVries on the Bluejay staff. Derrin Hansen, a seven-year assistant coach, has been named the interim coach at UNO. "It was a tough decision," McKenna said. "There are very few people I would leave this job to go work for, and Dana is one of them. I have a lot of respect for him. I'm flattered he offered me the job because of how good a coach I think he is." McKenna played for Creighton and spent seven years as an assistant under Altman, from 1994 through 2001. Altman said McKenna offered the best of both worlds when it comes to hiring an assistant coach. "You're looking for new energy - somebody to spark the staff - and you're always hoping for continuity," he said. "Kevin will give us a little of both." Altman, 47, has been on the short list of several major conference teams with head coaching openings. He said he "wouldn't hire anybody who I didn't think has the potential" to be a head coach. Altman said McKenna, Fish and DeVries are all considered equals, with none designated as the No. 1 assistant. Fish is the recruiting coordinator. McKenna made just under $80,000 at UNO. Both Altman and McKenna declined to say what his Creighton salary would be. "It is what it is," McKenna said. "I'm comfortable with it." In McKenna's first stay as a CU assistant, his duties as the since-eliminated "restricted earnings coach" limited him to on-campus recruiting. He will now be able to recruit off campus. 9. Thats why we never win Mens NCC all sports trophy. Our women did win it this year.
  10. Great Article that should be of interest to you sioux fans. Article state that UNO's athletic budget is the biggest in D2 just ahead of UND. Article also states that this would rank UNO in the top 40 of D1AA. I would assume that the Sioux would also be in the top 40. UNO has truly had a great year in the NCC. Just looking for some feedback from Sioux fans. Best of luck. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=1414823 UNO Rules
  11. UND fans, Nothing to be ashamed of. Great season again. As a UNO fan I am hopeful we can make it to the title game one year.
  12. Interesting article about one of North Dakota's finest on Espn.com. Sounds like this Senator has too much time on his hands. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2024427

    MOSS TO OAK

Moss will fit in real well there!!
  14. I concur on the incredible streak that UND put together. One thing that baffled my though is why UND always hosted that tournament. It seems logical to move it around. Sure enough, when it is hosted by someone else they lose. I am not a swimming fan either but congrats to the UNO program for the upset and kudos's to the Sioux for their awesome streak.
  15. If we added these teams for football would that hurt our chances of getting other schools to committ to join our conference for other sports.
