  1. Thanks PCM, What I would give for a Sioux-Denver championship game with a 4+ Sioux lead in the third. Greene's first fight as a Sioux would be very satisfying. There were very few people calling for Hakstal's head earlier this season - I guess those idiots were loud enough to get noticed. Yes the Sioux underachieved earlier this year - but I think most realized losing your two leading scorers, and having your third injured most of the year, coupled with a fairly sudden coaching change is a difficult thing to overcome. Hakstal did a great job bringing it all together and IMO deserves coach of the year honors. I'm sure he would rather have his first championship though.

    FROZEN 4

The possibility of an all WCHA frozen four is still alive. I will be chearing on the Gophers tomorrow and as much as it pains me I hope Denver wins. I believe the Sioux will get another crack at DU should they win in the semi's. Oh how sweet the revenge would be - for last year, for Robbie, for the final five loss... I'm beginning to hate Denver. Still not nearly as much as Elmer Fudd and the Eagles. How sweet was tonights victory. Enough for my broke ass to spend the night drinking Newcastle's in celebration. Now if only I can find a way to Columbus..
  4. That last penalty was a flagrant dive. Hopefully the refs will wise up and give some diving or unsportsmanlike penalties. The Sioux PK has been great, but something has to give eventually. Their goal for the 2nd period should be to have 5 skaters on the ice for at least half the period.
  5. BC is a lot better team than BU. They have a much better PP, with a ton of speed across all four lines. The Sioux are in big trouble if they give up a ton of PP's - namely because of that 6-7 235lb wall they park in front of the goalie. The best way to play against a hot goalie is to take away is sight. If the Sioux can keep it 5x5 they should be able to wear them down like they did to BU last night. The key is to get the lead early. My prediction - if the Sioux get the early lead and give up 5 or less pp's they will win. If not, they are going to be in trouble.
  6. Although he is a senior, Genoway is about the same age as most sophomores in college hockey. It takes some players more time to develope, it appears Genoway picked a season to break out.
  7. Even though the BC game is close now, I foresee a 8-2 final. Mercyhurst doesn't have the goaltending to keep them in a lopsided game. Offensively they aren't that bad of a team, but there defensemen cannot contain BC. I believe Hunt is reffing.
  8. Can the Mercyhurst goalie top Holy Cross' performance last year? Make a save - vomit, another save - vomit. Mercyhurst looks like an up and down team - they played WI close, before getting blown out the next night. This should be an interesting game. I think I'll take a break typing my paper (and posting on here ) and watch the 1st period.
  9. I found this pic of his father:
  10. I just assumed they put the entire amount in - my bad. Getting born into that Tribe is literally like winning the lottery. My aunt and uncle live in Prior Lake - my cousins went to HS with many of the members.
  11. Not mentioned in the pic are Matt Becker and Cory Loos I think there is a very good chance Hardwick will be a Sioux in two years, same goes for Dru Fisher.
  12. Very well put siouxnami. What also upsets me is the way Red Lake is being portrayed as the typical reservation. They are unlike the rest of the reservations in MN - they are the only closed one. All reservations have some problems, but Red Lake is by far the worse in this area (ND/MN). Pine Ridge in SD is the only one I've been to that is anywhere near as bad. The members of the Tribe Mystic Lake is on are all millionaires. This is not an exaggeration - they are filthy rich and hate to share. The Prairie Island tribe isn't as well off, but I imagine each member still gets at least $50-100K per year from the casino. If they really wanted to help Native Americans they would be open to sharing their profits - instead they have become greedy corporate fatcats.
  13. Sculpture garden and art museum (with a trip across the bridge to freak watch) is always fun. Tour the capital in St. Paul - more interesting than it sounds. Hit up the casino - one in Prior Lake and one South of Hastings A little spendy but interesting (depending on the theme) is the science museum next to the Excel.
  14. Was it Red Lake or Red Lake Falls? I'm assuming Red Lake if the FBI was called in - I believe it is on a reservation.
  15. I was hoping to hear about the South Dakoter fighting Sioux playing in their new rink in Fargo. I agree Thorne is a great announcer - hopefully they will study up on the college game.
  16. I have little respect for the ECAC - I picked Ohio over Cornell. I think the Gophers will get their act together long enough to lose to the Sioux at the Frozen Four. The only non-ECAC quality team Cornell beat this year was Maine. Their record is impressive though - I just do not give them as much credit as most. I guess we'll see next weekend.
  17. The NCAA uses the Pairwise system to determine seeding. The Gophers were #4 in the Pairwise. Therefore they get the last #1 seed. The reporter is an idiot who knows nothing about college hockey. It can be debated that they didn't deserve the #1 seed, but to hint at some conspiracy is a little ridiculous. Say they changed Cornell to a #1 seed - That means the Gophers get Cornell's spot and have the #2 seed in the exact same brackets. Only they have to play Ohio first - something I would rather do. Even if the Gophs were a 4 seed they would be playing at home - they are the host school.
  18. There is also going to be big anti-Sioux name rally at the REA during the bouncy ball tourny This is just what the players need to prepare for the NCAA's - getting kicked out of their own building by a bunch of DII BB schools and getting harrassed by a bunch of damn hippies The outlook for Bina is pretty good - health wise, but I can't imagine he will ever be able to play a contact sport like hockey again. I just looked on the REA site- the only school I've ever heard of for the BB tourny is Findlay, and the only reason for that is they used to have a D1 hockey team. I guess I've heard of Metro State before - there is one in Minny and one in Detroit (probably more than that), I would guess this is the Detroit one. I can't imagine they would have more people than the Betty can hold for any of the games.
