It just came down to one team playing to the buzzer and the other one not. 99% of games that play never happens. Either UND defends the play correctly OR the Gopher don't push to make the play. But in that game, with that team, and that matchup the Gopher played until the buzzer, created an opportunity and capitalized. Credit should not go to just our guys for letting the play happen, but to their team for creating an opportunity. That was a tough loss to swallow, I wasn't even mad when it happened; more shocked. Is it October yet? Don't want to wish away summer at all, but I can't wait for some more hockey.

It would be nice to have Schmaltz back; always good to have the experience and leadership there, but if he is gone it sounds like we have some guys ready to step in and play. I don't know much about Shaw or Wolanin, but everything I have read seems pretty positive. With Ladue and Stecher back we should still have a pretty solid D core. Biggest question will be goalie; hopefully Tomek is ready to step up and play.

I don't generally trust your "sources" but where do you see Jordan at? I know in all liklihood he is gone, but what is the percent chance you see him staying? 10%?? 15%??

I tend to agree, I think he is better suited at WR, but could maybe run some sweeps here and there. All around athlete, any chance we could see him spend some time at O and D? When is the last time that happened?

With Smith, there is potential for him to play at several different positions. This is a good problem to have. I say you play him based on where he has the greatest impact. If he could play a WR/RB hyrbrid that would be pretty cool. I don't know why, but I just see this guy playing offense. I guess we'll see.

With a newer coaching staff, and taking a nice step in the right direction last season, this upcoming season seem critical in recruiting. If we can take that next step, we might get a big boost in getting some of those guys who would otherwise be on the fence. Might be able to win a few more of those regional recruiting battles. Can't wait for the season to start.

Chappell was so much fun to watch when he played. Didnt he have grades issues though? He only played for a year or two right? Wish we could get another back like that.

Maybe, not sure. I just never like that setup. Seemed like a cheap solution to a pretty nice arena. Been a long time since I have been to a basketball game though.

I would like to see permanent bleachers built onto the ends of the basketball court. I always hated the ones that they put on each end. Build something up and make it more of a bowl feel.

I hear ya. Its a damn shame that we couldn't press the issue more, when we had time, to get the approval. And maybe there was nothing we could do to get the one tribe to allow a vote. Like I said a damn shame. I don't like the idea of a new name or nickname, but I think my biggest worry is that we will end up with something ridiculous. Maybe it will end up ok, but if we are the Fighting Green, for the Sun Dogs, I definitely won't buy any new apparel. Not to make a point, but because I would rather wear street clothes than don a stupid name or logo at a game.

I'll be cheering on the flickertails, but still probably wearing my sioux jersey. You might be able to get me to buy a flickertail hat, but I don't think anything will quite replace a Fighting Sioux jersey.

Frustrating, but this argument is already over.Sucks, but at this time next year we will either be the University of North Dakota or have another nickname following it. All I can say is keep wearing the Fighting Sioux logo proudly. I know I will regardless. Though if they do adopt a new nickname, the goal at this point should be to make it something that is not completely laughable.
