Whether we are 4-0, 2-2, or 0-4. the face remains the same, that this defense is pretty damn good, and this offense has some work to do. It starts on the line, and works its way outward. If this team finds a way to grow through out the season and make the playoffs, it will mean that they have found some degree of offensive consistency. And if they do make the playoffs, it will likely mean that they are going in having won a bundle of games in a row. Hitting the playoffs on a hot streak is important, and yes i'm all in on playoffs, until there is a legit reason not to be. Beat Poly!!!

I think the issue with the play calling is the predictability. I agree you have to work with what you have, but run, run, throw, is getting old. Especially when everyone on this board, and their team knows its coming. Studs is not a pocket passer. More play action passes and rollouts would help. Utilizing TEs as well. Not saying it will be a full turn around, but you need to do something different, because the gameplan we have used through 4 games has been ugly and is not working at its best.

Summed up my thoughts. The talent is there on offense, but they need to figure it out. Especially the line and the play calling. Our defense in fhawking awesome though. Dussold has been a nice surprise.

NDSU played CSU, EWU, and Iowa. Could have easily started 0-3 instead of 3-0, would they have been a bad team? I'm not saying the competition is exactly comparable to what we have played, though SBU looks like they could be decent, but the point is the same. Agreed, 1-3 isn't how you want to start, but you can't just pack it in either.

Mine consumption usually depends on the intensity of the game. Close game with a lot of nerves and a lot riding on the game, the beer goes quicker. If anyone remembers back to the Sioux/Gopher game where Evan Trupp hit the baseball goal in OT .... well it was a bad night to have a kegger. Especially, when you had to work the next day. Another reason afternoon games are better than night games. At least the over/under is on beer and not whiskey.

UND's offense took a step forward last week in terms of getting points. This week they take another step forward in terms of finding consistency throughout the game. Fewer 3 and outs. O-line will find a little more consistency and the running game will take another step forward. Last season Big Sky play is when UND's offense started to find itself. I think that it because of the types of defenses that we will see within the conference, and I think our offense starts to find itself again. All eyes will be on Santiago after last year; their coach was very clear about that, but I think Santiago still finds some room to run. Oliveira too. I think Brady could have a really big game. Last year we threw the ball 11 times (completing 7) against Mt St. We ran the ball 52 times! I know their defense will look different this year, but I think we see a heavy dose of the run game against a big sky opponent. And for the love of God, please make John Walker look ridiculous - Maybe get Santiago into the secondary and juke him out of his shoes. Mt St will likely have a game similar to what their coach was talking about, with UND giving up a few big plays, but UND getting to the QB enough with blitzes and junk throughout the game. Aren't all of the MVFC games on ESPN3 too? That would be a nice feature over Eversports. Not sure why the Sky doesn't try to negotiate into that type of a deal. That would have been a better announcement than their stupid app.

But it was fun to see them get punched in the mouth last week with USD, SDSU and UNI all losing to Sky teams.

Haven't the summit schools had more success in the NCAA tournament recently, as compared to the Big Sky? I'm not expert on basketball, I just don't understand why there is so much hate on the Summit. I'm not too partial either way. I like the Big Sky, because it is what I have know over the past few years. Starting to recognize the teams and the players more, but that would happen with a new league as well. I certainly like the ideas of being with the other Dakota schools. Like I said, I'm pretty impartial either way, just don't understand why people hate on the Summit, MVFC certainly wouldn't be a bad thing. Despite the fact that we all get sick of hearing how amazing they are, they are a very solid conference.
