Anyone else need a Santiago Home Run fix. He had a nice game last weekend, but I really want to see the kid have a game like he did against N Colorado or Mt State, and hit a big long runs.

Thats harsh man, but at least its not coffee.

It is definitely a must win game, but more than that, I would like to see a convincing win. Something to really get the momentum rolling on this team. Lets get the whole team clicking before we have to hit the road again.

bahaha

I think it all comes down to how they start. They showed, even last week, that they CAN move the ball quickly and efficiently. Studs needs to step in and command the offense early to get some rhythm. I think this also falls on the OC to call the right plays early. If the offense gets going from kick off, we have seen what they are capable of. I'd really like to see them use all of their RBs and really grind down the defense. Has Neverman really played yet? There was a lot of positive chat about him from last year, into this season.

Enjoy the trip, really wish I could make it up from Minneapolis. Hopefully the tailgating and weather is good. Yeah, there is a lot of confidence on this board despite the 0-2 start. Trying to put it all in persepective the SB game was just a terrible offensive showing. Not sure what the issue is; O-Line getting up to speed, QB jitters, etc. We know we have talent in our RBs, and we know what our QB is capable of doing (though he hasn't done it consistently this season. We saw the same offensive woes in the first half of the game against Bowling Green, then started to kick it in gear and play more like the offense from the end of last season. The key for UND tomorrow will be getting the offense going right away. If we do that, I think we win the game; if our offense only plays half a game then who knows. Probably the most significant reason for continued confidence in this team is the defense. They have played really well in two games, and are pretty deep. I think we knew how good our front 7 would be, but now our corners are actually stepping up and playing well too, which was a big question mark after last season. At Safety, Cole Reyes is a beast. So again, no game is an auto-win, certainly not this game. But especially playing at home, I really like this team to get in the win column. Enjoy the trip and the game.

No argument here, as long as you are building your team around that or bringing in a total head case. Utilizing some more FBS dropdowns would be fine with me.

It does make me wonder what happened with him. I though he moved to GF because of his wife, and possibly a health situation. Hopefully is all well for the guy.

I don't think anyone said Prater was going to step in and be THE guy after Studs. Just that it would be nice to have additional depth, experience and competition at that position. Too bad it didn't work out for him. Hopefully they get another guy to add into the mix. Obviously I haven't seen Bolinske or Heidelbaugh play, and we don't know how Boltman will transition yet, but it never hurts to have more bodies to compete for the QB spot; or the back up spot.

How about Green Pants, Grey Jersey and Green Helmets

Agreed, I can't imagine there will be a huge spread for this game, especially given how our offense has started the last two games. But I really hope this is the turning point, we see an offensive outbreak and smoke them. Something like our games against Northern Colorado or Poly last year. Just beat the hell out of them, especially because they are in the "dreaded" MVFC

Fingers crossed that Jost pulls a Boeser and stays for a second year. Really awesome if the coaches can continue holding on to these blue chippers for more than a season. Something UND has been really good at.
-
I was just wondering this same thing. Does anyone know if UND has been in contact with the kid, or if he will be making a visit to UND this fall?
-
Also, to be fair to Bubba's call, it did work. He had the play call right, got the matchup he wanted. Open receiver just couldn't come down with the ball. Not like the QB got sacked quickly or we had no play. Everything really did work to perfection, except for Carr bringing it down.

Prater was the QB who transferred from MT. Former military guy, who was actually penciled in to start against UND last year, but was injured (I believe). He was at Hawaii before Montana. I believe he had moved to GF so he and his wife could be closer to her home. I think there were some health issues going on for her, or her family ... I didn't catch the whole story. Maybe that factored into his decision to leave the team, but like I said, would have been nice to keep a little extra depth at the position.
-
So now Prater is no longer with the team? What happened there? Would have been nice to have a little more depth or competition at the position.
-
I also like the green pants with the green jerseys. All green is my favorite, but I'm hoping we see some grey in the mix this weekend.
-
I have not seen the app either, but does anyone know if it will actually be an NCHC app, or could it be listed as a neulion app, with school or sport specific options.
-
Agreed, names on the jersey's would be really nice.

Possibly one of the dumbest things I've read on this board.

Not sure what I was thinking when I wrote this, as we went 2-1 in non-conference last season, not 1-2. But i still maintain that we have a softer conference schedule this year. Playoffs are absolutely not out of the picture, and this team just needs to keep moving forward. Beat USD!
-
Agreed, If I recall Arnell got burned on one. Can't remember which LB got burned on the second, maybe Taj? Hope the corners keep it up. Still can't figure out how Tyus hauled in that one interception.
-
Chris Streveler (QB) Sad Goldy Gopher (Tried to find a beat up Goldy Gopher with a black eye, but couldn't)
-
Also want to mention how impressed I was with our corners yesterday, minus the to home run balls. Overall, they really played pretty well. Harris played awesome and the tyus carter INT was really sweet. Hope this group continues to develop, especially for big sky play.

I don't think that anyone is saying that any wins are guaranteed. But you may recall a UND team from last season that finished with a 1-2 non-conference schedule, had a more difficult conference schedule than what we will see this season, and just barely missed the playoffs. To say they are out of the playoff discussion after two slim, non- conference losses is asinine. I hate moral victories, and whether we lost by 1 or by 50, they look the same in the win/loss column. That being said, you still have to look at the game for more takeaways, and how you want those takeaways to impact your entire season. UND needs to find a way to come out hot on offense, we have started extremely slow the last two weeks, but have showed consistent improvement throughout the game. Not sure why Keaton has had such a touch start to the season, but he must turn it around this week. I think next week will be tough, but is certainly winnable. Especially at home. Can't discount that our losses were on the road, not an excuse for losing the games, but it is a contributing factor. We can't kid ourselves into thinking that we have such a home field advantage at the Alerus, but that other teams don't in their stadiums. I think we have seen two of the tough defenses on our schedule already, which does bode well for our run game and our offense as a whole. It was nice to see some flashes from Santiago in the second half yesterday, and hopefully next weekend he can really break free. I'm not jumping ship on this team yet. Once they get a win (next Saturday), I think they will continue to build momentum.
