Yes, I've read something similar.

We all appreciate your sacrifice

I didn't realize that, I was watching it on Fox College Sports.
-
Agreed, eversports has been garbage. Between not showing the Weber State game last season and missing half of the Idaho State game (Both of wish were disgusting losses) I was pretty anti eversports.

Just read the DeLuca has to have season ending surgery. Bison or not, that sucks for a kid like that. Hopefully he can heal up and still have a shot in the NFL. Not sure how high he was projected, but hopefully it doesn't hurt is stock too bad. Hate to see injuries ever end a kids season like that.

Agreed, I'll pay $10 to watch this team play. Still going to cross my fingers that FCS picks up the game. Wish FSN+ would pick up some games too, I believe they did this against NAU a few years ago, and maybe a few bball games too. Big Sky really needs to get an app for Roku or Apple TV
-
Just need to keep winning and hopefully more and more fans will come and stay. As has been said, it would have helped if the game had been exciting the whole way through rather than digging a 20 pt hole.

Fixed .... my bad, Sac St. is the next game for Mt St. after they play us. You are correct about Poly, I was looking at the wrong schedule. Poly is a game I would like to see us replicate from last season. That was a beat down.

Thanks for stopping back again. The yotes offense was pretty impressive. Streveler did a lot of nice things, but ultimately had to many mistakes. UND's offense certainly is not potent; we have potential and could be much better as the year goes on, but we have not been very good yet. I do think USD is in a similar boat. A team with a ton of potential, just needs to clean up some things and play consistent. Best of luck the rest of the way!

There is no doubt this will be a challenging game, especially being on the road. Mt St. is coming off of a win over D2 Western Oregon; though they won 55-0! Our defense needs to keep doing what they are doing, but our offense needs to help them out a bit. Consistent drives that are longer than a 3 and out. Gotta get some scoring going, and it gotta let the defense get some rest during the game. I’m not huge on game comparisons, because too often you see team1 beat team 2; team 2 beat team 3, and team 3 beat team 1, because of team style, position matchups etc. However, Montana St. has 1 loss on the year (@ Idaho 17-20). Idaho has in turn gotten smoked by Washington and Washington St (Who lost to E. Wash 45.42) I see Mt St. as being a capable team this year, but nowhere in the neighborhood of MT or E. Wash. I do have to eat some crow for my thoughts on E. Wash. I really did not expect them to be as good as they appear to be this year; but wins over Wash St. and UNI, and almost beating NDSU; I’d say they’ll be fine (then again, conference play can do some funny things). Unfortunately, UND goes into this contest with a lot of question marks, just as we did going into the USD game. Yes, we beat USD, but certainly not without a ton of drama. That 2nd quarter was plain ugly. On a positive note, this team should have learned that they are never out of a game, and are capable of fighting back. Great effort from that aspect. Studs needs to put together a full game. Rudolph needs to involve the TEs more, when he does this, it generally works well. Not sure why he moves away from it. O-Line still has a lot of work; so all the criticism can’t fall on Studs or even Rudolph for that matter. Santiago is Santiago, but I’m still waiting for him to hit that 60-80 yard home run ball; again it helps when the O-line give you a hole. Even with the ugly parts of last week’s game, the offense has improved each week. Which does bode well for UND; they just need to keep improving and cleaning some things up. I said it after SBU, I said it after BGSU, and I’ll say it again …. Don’t give up on this team. If we can steal a road win here and come home 2-2 to play Cal-Poly, we will be on our way to righting the ship. Mt St 27, UND 37 Go Sioux!

Sorry. I'm talking the replay on tv yesterday. I thought he was in too, then they showed the replay and it wasn't even close. He he a goodrink yard or two back. Refs made the right call.
-
Replay showed Santiago was down pretty clearly.

No way man. I was watching on tv and called the penalty before the flag flew. The corner had a tremendous play to break up the pass, theb stood over the receiver, stared him down and ran his mouth. It was a STUPID but earned penalty. Could have cost us the game, but a hard less learned for the young man. At least we came back and won, because that penalty was a momentum shift.

I'm just going to throw this out there ... We beat USD .... USD beat NDSU last season... We basically just beat Iowa, and we're pretty much 5 time Nat'l Champs!!!!! (I'm joking for those who don't get satire) Honestly, props to our guys for finding a way to win. Also a sincere congrats to the Bison for their win. You just keep thinking they have level off and come back to reality a bit, and they keep finding a way to do pretty astonishing things. You can hate the team or the fans, but can't deny what they have done. Hats off to them. Truly hope we can get to somewhat of that status at some point. I know a lot of NDSU fans that never expected to see this program become what it has. Programs can change and pic up momentum, and I hope UND can find that in the future. USD exposed a lot of issue for UND, and hopefully we can figure it out. Right now, I'm just happy with the win. On to Mt St.

First, tremendous effort by the boys to complete the comeback. We were down and out, and we clawed our way back in. There must be a curse for USD in the Alerus. Second, hats off to USD. They played a great game, and really controlled the play. Steveler was everything that he was advertised to be and more. I was really impressed with their defensive front, and how they dominated our O-Line for the majority of the game. Our O-Line seriously needs to find a rhythm going into the conference schedule. Pros: We got a WIN. Despite giving up so many points, our D still made a lot of plays including critical defensive TDs. I'll cut our D some credit for giving up so many pts, since they were on the field so much. Congrats to Toivenen on his TV, and brilliant catch by Wanzek early in the game. Cons: Offense is still struggling overall. Not sure why Studs is struggling so much after a nice season last yer, but he needs to find some consistency. We're not going to be able to keep up with these type of rally games all year, so we need to figure out how to play offense early and consistently. We have a great D, but they are getting wore out. We truly escaped with a win, BUT WE WON. Time to move forward and focus on Mt St. Move to 2-2 and this is a whole new season (one with a nice road win). Lets do it guys!

To put the football game into perspective, and to remind everyone not to judge a whole fan base on a few trolling comments, I though I would share the below link. Apparently, some of the USD fans decided to partake in a very classy act for the Weber St. coach before last week's game. Nice work Coyote fans! http://usdcoyotesports.proboards.com/thread/1780/weber-state-coachs-wife

Seriously, who the hell cares about the conference comparisons, especially when both teams have been middle of the pack to basement dwellers. The only teams who can really argue their conference strength on an annual basis are probably SDSU and UNI, as they generally make the playoffs, but sit behind a 5 time national champ in their conference. Same with the Big Sky and MT, EWU and MTST (though not lately). Unless your and annually at the top of the conference, it really doesn't matter a whole lot. I get that there is some aspects to conference strength being important, but it is not the end all be all that some many people, especially MVFC (but some BSC) fans make it out to be.
-
Just ignore Yote 53, he was being obnoxious on the USD board too. Try to talk football over there, and most people are pretty cool, but you get your trolls everywhere that just want to argue. Ultimately, both teams have plenty reason to be confident about this game: UND is 0-2. USD is 1-1. UND is 5pts from being 2-0, USD is 3 pts from being 0-2. UND has a stud RB and a solid D. USD has a pretty solid transfer QB, and their RB has played well. In comparable games from last season (NDSU and Drake) USD fared far better. UND gets home field advantage. All together, it is not ridiculous for either fan base to feel they have an edge in this one. As I am a UND fan, and have watched more UND football; I think of offense comes alive this week. I think our defense does the job containing Bouma, but I think Streveler will get some yards. 31-24 UND
-
Agreed. Some of my favorite being UND beating NDSU in 03 (my freshman year), and beating North Alabama (same year) to go to the NCAA Championship game. Ended up going to that game in Florence, AL. Great experience, wish he could have beat Grand Valley though.
-
I get having to keep the student section dry, but it always seemed a little stupid too. No sipping a beer throughout the period; instead we'll make kids run out during period break, and chug a 32 oz beer 2-3 times per game. Much better in terms of keeping kid under control.
-
Agreed, hockey at the Ralph is just a whole different experience. Absolutely loved all the nights I spent there back in college. I'm sure that is how a lot of Bison fans feel about their time at the Fargo Dome. I just hope eventually we can get back to packing the Alerus with students. It'll take time, effort and winning. I also go back to saying get an on campus stadium, but that is a whole other conversation.
-
Wow, I didn't know they took away seats. What is wrong with kids these days. Though, back when I was in school, if we had upper bowl tickets, we would use them for the first period. Scout out open/unused reserved seats and try to sneak down.
-
Kind of sad, unfortunately not everyone is an avid football fan. Only way to get the student attendance up is to win, and win consistently.
-
Maybe it is just the picture, but Geno looks like maybe he got a little bigger. A little thicker in the neck, hopefully he bulked up a bit, because he was kind of scrawny last season. Kid needs to take a big step forward this season. He was fun to watch last year, and I expect him to do big things at UND.

Not sure where to put this, but I figure this is as good of a place as any. There has been plenty of article floating around regarding whether or not the NHL will participate in the Olympics in 2018. If they choose not to, would we expect to see the Olympic team go back to college players then? On the one hand, it would be really hard to compete. On the other hand, it would be really fun to see college kids back on the Olympic team. It'll be interesting to see if college kids get the opportunity, and if UND will have anyone that would be able to participate at that time.
