  1. Not saying you are wrong by any means. I hesitate to compare to last year, because we are a different team and so are they. BUT remember they beat MT last season too, MT smoked us, we smoked them. My point being, a lot of these games come down to the specific matchups and where the talent is within those matchups. No doubt it will be the hardest game on our remaining schedule. I still say we are a more talented team than Stony Brook, but we saw how that worked out. Any given Saturday!
  2. Sounds like they are out, Per Tom M. they are still looking for some $$$ Probably fine too. That would be a lot of Gray. I think Gray Pants, Gray Jerseys and Green Helmets will look nice. Hopefully, Gray pants, Green Jerseys and Gray Helmets in the future; that would look nice too.
  3. Jeez, I get having injuries throughout the season, but for all of them to be season ending it a bit ridiculous. Hopefully Holm gets a little playing time now, otherwise it would have seem a bit of a waste of his redshirt. Also, with Cox .... I'm hoping that turns into be a bit of a blessing in disguise, not because of lack of talent, but because it forces the line to shuffle up a bit and change some things. I think Coe plays with a bit of an edge, so hopefully that helps at the tackle position to open up some outside running room for Santiago. Nevermann is a bummer, as he had to be so patient to get on the field in the first place. Though I was hoping he would have made a little more noise. Will he be back next year, or is his eligibility up? Don't know much about Francis, I assume he was primarily a blocking TE. Pretty sure we have enough guys to slide into that position. Great news about seibel. Hope they try to get him the ball early to get him back into a rhythym.
  4. I just received a message from NCHC that the roku app has been delayed until early November due to delays with neulion developing the app. Unfortunate, but if the app works well, I can live with the delay. Now, can we get the big sky to come out with one? Might be worth trying to launch and email campaign across the message boards to bet the Big Sky to do something. Just a thought.
  5. Just saw a tweet from 2 days ago that the app is available on Apple TV, sounds like neulion is still working on the app for roku and they should have an update in the coming out within the next few days. A little frustrating if it isn't ready for tomorrow, but thats what I've found so far. I'm not sure if anyone else is going to utilize the Roku app, but I'll post updates as I see them, for those who are interested.
  6. So true, if we eliminated half of our offensive penalties, we would probably see a few more sustained drives throughout the game.
  7. I knew that guy looked familiar. Just realized he was my insurance agent.
  8. Completely agree. Pretty much my point, fan support and following, follows winning and success.
  9. It all starts this weekend!! Can't wait!!! Be sure to watch the UND vs Cal Poly game at 1:00 if you can, then onto hockey!! Just found out I've got tickets to, at least, the Saturday night game against the Gophers at Mariucci, possibly Friday. Now there is some awesome new for the week!
  10. Last thing he said was before putting was, "Home soil, right?" Told the media he thought there was no way he would sink it. What a moment.
  11. Has everyone seen this yet? It is too good not to share. I believe I read that the guy is from Mayville. http://www.rydercup.com/news-media/usa/ryder-cup-american-fan-calls-his-shot-sinks-putt-rory-mcilroy-couldn’t
  12. Solid point, hopefully we are catching them at a good time, especially given how much we need this game. Realistically, this will be a close game, but it would be awesome if the offense could light a fire, come out similar to last year, and run away with one. A convincing win might not be worth much more than a close win in terms of rankings, but it would do wonders for the confidence of, and in, this offense.
  13. Sounds good, may have to try it. Thanks!
  14. Good call, I loved Spitfire when I lived up there, and do recall meeting the owner before. Thanks for the heads up. May have to try Blarney Stone though, as I haven't been there before.
  15. They responded to someone on twitter a while ago that it would be ready for the Oct 1 games. I've reached out a few times asking for an update, and still haven't got a response. A little nervous that it won't be ready, which would stink. I though I also ready that they were getting the final approval of the app from apple for the app on apple TV, so maybe the same is happening with Roku. Would be nice if they would respond on twitter though.
  16. Totally agree
  17. Are we sure Braden Hanson and Hardin don't have any eligibility left
  18. oh, I am aware. I'm heading up to see Bison in-laws. I'll probably be at their tailgating, which is actually a great time, but I'll be sporting my UND gear! When I went last year, I actually went to the game, and bestowed my luck on them, resulting in a loss to South Dakota. Would love to be the same kind of factor this year, but I'd prefer to watch UND game.
  19. Agreed, If Darrell nails this prediction, we may need to motion for his suspension from football talk for the rest of the season. Or at least his suspension from prediction threads.
  20. I'm not saying Bubba won't get a championship. I have faith that this staff is doing exactly what they need to for that discussion. Setting an expectation for 5 or 6 straight championships is unrealistic. Let get the first one, then talk about multiple. Same goes for hockey, we got last seasons, now lets get back to back.
  21. Totally agree with you in terms of increasing financial support, which as was mentioned, will come with narrowing the focus of the athletic department. It may even come down to conference affiliation and limiting travel costs, but that is a who other discussion. Any you are correct, in terms of comparisons to NDSU. The only reason I don't like the comparison is it often is not relevant. Not many programs, at least football programs, can truly compare themselves to what NDSU has done. At least not realistically. I think there are a lot of comparisons that we can try to make, or UND can try to replicate, but in terms of outright success, W/L, # of championship (or consecutive championships) ... they have done something that may not be seen again in this lifetime .... barf.
  22. Appreciate it, we'll be staying with my in-laws in Fargo; and I believe you are correct, they have cable one and do not get the game. At least I should be able to get the hockey game online. I'll call a few places to double check. Thanks again.
  23. If we keep saying it, eventually we will be right!!!
  24. Not sure if I'm going to be able to make it up to Grand Forks or not this weekend. Does anyone know which bars in Fargo would show the UND football game? Or would most of them have it?
  25. I get tired of the comparisons to NDSU, but they did not always have top notch support either. They may have had more than UND, but it was not always top notch. With in-laws that are, and always have been, big Bison fans, I've been to several NDSU tailgating events. Only 4-5 years ago, their tailgating wasn't even half of the size that it is now. Winning almost always breeds support, whereas Support does not always breed winning. Again, I'm not saying it is right, but it is hard to convince a lot of people to give their time to provide top notch support for a program who has not yet proven themselves to be elite. UND football needs to continue improving (which they are doing), they need to keep investing in the program and the production of the events (game production, tailgating, etc), and as both improve so will the fan base.
