  1. Good stuff on Kunz! For those who know more about him ... when would he actually comes to campus? who could he be compared to? What is his draft potential?
  2. But even so, if budget couldn't sustain Jones, then you move on far earlier than June/July, when there are still more coaches available. and they have more time to get in and get their program up to speed.
  3. I'm just saying the whole situation could be handled better. Seems strange to be sitting hear at the end of June an not know who your coach will be in a few months. Also saying that if this was hockey, it would have been handled differently. Just think your other sports and players deserve a little better than that.
  4. Agreed, I don't think it has an impact on the two player that left. But still, there is a right way to do stuff, and dragging out this process is not it. Isn't that what they did with football a few years back, and that certainly may have impacted some guys leaving. Of course when Hak left, they had a plan in place, and acted immediately. Now I am a big time hockey fan, but there is not reason these other sports, which are succeeding, should not be given some of the same attention and respect.
  5. I also think the landscape of college hockey has changed a lot. Schools that would never have gotten draft picks in the past are now picking up high recruits. UMASS, Mankato, Duluth has been getting quite a few, St Cloud has picked up quite a few. Then you get some teams, like BU that have been cleaning up with the top recruits. I think there is just more opportunity out there for kids who want to play and be "THE" guy. UND should definitely be on the watch for some of the kids who have committed to Wisco, because there is just no way they will all end up there. Would like to see us land Rizzo, Would like us to still take a shot at Tolvanen. Not sure who else is up and coming, but it would be nice to land a couple more top guys here and there.
  6. Sure should be, but like some other things that the school has done, getting the end result done, doesn't make up for the poor way it has been handled, and how it reflects on the school.
  7. Seems to me that having a bunch of blue chip draft picks are more of a area of bragging rights and add some publicity for the program, but is not necessarily a recipe for a championship. Just look at countless teams from UND, UM and BU. Don't get me wrong, I love the bragging rights, and I love when guys like Toews or Oshie play at UND then tear up the NHL. Though I also love the underdog story with guys like stecher and Caggiulia, and there is a better chance of those guys staying longer. Personally, the winning combo is a some high end players (with the right mentality) surrounded by role players that buy into the coaches system. I'll take a Caggiulia every time against a Mittlestadt. You got Caggiuia for 4 years, and he can do a pull up. A smart guy, from a stupid school, once said, "I'm not looking for the best players, I'm looking for the right ones".
  8. Bungum is still listed at a commit on twitter. Hopefully just an oversight?
  9. I may vomit if Oshie goes to the Blackhawks. Have the Wild freed up enough space yet? On the flip side, it would be fun to wash Oshie and Toews play together again. May has well bring Duncan over from Europe. The gates of hell would open up.
  10. Jordan Schroeder to the Columbus Bluejackets. Wild are dumping Gopher players like they went to NDSU.
  11. Kind of surprise we haven't seen more offers or announcements a day after camp. Anyone know who all attended?
  12. Saw someone tweet that it would be a PR nightmare to accept a kid that was already rejected from a different school. I guess I don't see it that way, depending on the circumstances. Had the kid been rejected because he had a 1.5 GPA or a felony record or something like that I would understand; but all schools have different academic requirements and rules. I don't think there is any doubt that BC probably has more stringent requirements for attendance than UND. Hope the coaches are at least looking at Tolvanen. Even if he was a 1 and done, I would gladly take that high end talent, that we were not even planning on having this year.
  13. Making room for Tolvanen, now that he didn't get into BC
  14. I demand he change his name from Rain to A.C.
  15. Yeah, I understand where people/alumni/former players are upset about losing WH, but there needs to be some realistic perspective about it as well.
  16. Basketball needed some good news. I'll take it. Depending on what happens with Crandall, this team should still be able to compete. Guessing Crandall will be suspended for the first few games. Seems kind of routine for him. Didn't that happen his freshman season too? Tom Miller @tommillergf UND MBB lands verbal from 6-6 juco (Tyler Junior College in Texas). One juco ranking has as high as No. 44 transfer in 2017 class. https://twitter.com/JaqwanMccauley/status/877275036708745218 … 4:37 PM - 20 Jun 2017
  17. Cool, but that wasn't my question. I was just wondering when NDSU's was, because I assume you will get some overlap between the two in terms of athletes visiting and checking out the schools.
  18. Does anyone know who will actually be attending the camp this week? Also does anyone know when NDSU's camp is? Just curious if you will get some kids that will try to make 1 trip for both camps, if they are close enough together. Read something about Gabe Sulser possibly attending NDSU's camp, and was hoping he would be at UND's. Kid will probably be a long shot to land, and sounds like he will get a fair amount of FBS attention (especially considering his size), but I would love to see him at UND. Sounds like he has a bunch of Griz connections too.
  19. Love summer, but this time of year I am so anxious for football. Reading material, camps, practice, recruiting, anything! Hopefully we get some big recruiting new after the camp (next week?).
  20. Seems almost unreal when you look at this team, how deep we are in some areas; Considering where we were a handful of year ago. Would still love to see more "proven" depth on O-line, which could happen this season. And Safety always makes me nervous. Will Blubaugh be playing safety? I know there was some concern about LB being young, but there seems to be a ton of potential, and our coaches have done a nice job with the LB core over the past several years, so I'm not as concerned about that. Really looking to see Studs come out sharp, he certainly has the tools around him. This year has the makings of something great.
  21. Can't argue with that. Just don't want to see a shirt get pulled, unless they are going to play legit minutes.
  22. Can't imagine all 3 of those receivers play, considering who all we have back at receiver. Would love to see adeoti and griebel, but if you can redshirt them, then do it. I'm impatient, but I don't want to see young talent wasting a year either.
  23. Drick's move is strategic. It is about getting UND into the PAC12. Drick will end up being a liasion between UND and their future conference.
  24. Not speaking specifically on this particular case, but very often it is the same reason you see any student go to a different school for their masters. Different school have more emphasis on different programs. Just depends on what they are looking to do. I'm guessing Bernstine had an opportunity to play at the next level and wanted to try it. As someone pointed out, he'll get to experience some cool travel in some much bigger arenas. Sucks to see him go, but I can see why it would be tough not to take that opportunity too.
  25. Sucks to lose him, but best of luck to the kid. I'll have slighty more interest in Wazzu next year.
