Tom tweeted at me the other day, that he did not know yet, and that nothing up to this point was required. So I think he is just reporting, based on what was certain at a give point in time. Until he hears from the coaches or another reliable source, he probably doesn't take the time to look into rumors as much as us.

Impossible. NDSU trolls were criticizing how we had offered some kids that only had D2 offers thus far. So how could the kid be any good, let along get an FBS look?

Anyone know who will return kicks this year? Santiago has always been the man, but I assume we don't want to risk injury. Will Mckinney take over those duties, with Santiago continue in the job, will someone else step in, or will it be situational?

Any word on if the new receiver will play, or will he have a suspension? Speculation?

While I agree with not making a number of exceptions for a kid over the rest of a team, and bearing in mind nothing to this point is mandatory; it should be pointed out that everything on here is speculation or rumor to this point. Let's not judge the kid just yet. Imagine if it were your kid, but only half the story was out there. Should also be noted that he did not just have a kid, but it was mentioned that he was also dealing with some depression issues. If you have ever know someone who has had serious depression, it's not just being bummed out about something. Serious issue that is not easy to cope with. Cut the young man a little slack. I'm sure he is well aware that this is his last chance at football. While we all see it as a huge opportunity for him, he may have different priorities, and it is ultimately his choice. From a fan perspective, I hope he is here and ready to go on the field. If he isn't, then next man up. I love football, but the kid need to make a decision that works for him and his family and stick with it. Then everyone needs to move on from it.

In an effort to be positive for 1 more week, I'll say I'll be more concerned with the news coming out of Grand Forks than New Town, and last I heard the Grady Train was in GF and working out.

What seems to be the issue? In fairness to the kid, I don't want to judge based on a message board post, but at the same time this is all too deja vu. Just seems strange because it is very understandable why he left school and football for a year, but to get a second chance, you would think he had to bee 100% sure before re-committing. Any additional information, or is this just rumors?

That would be extremely disappointing. Mixed messages on here though. Word was he was already in town and working out. I guess we will know in a week.

Heck yeah, Bennett said he was up 20 lbs and that was back in April. Have to imagine he has added a few more, and will probably stand to lose a bit in a camp. As long as he keeps is speed, he could be a force off of the edge.

Agreed, it would be nice to know where everyone is at. Particularly interested to know if Bryce Blair has added some weight. Same with Wanzek. If I recall, Mason Bennett had tweet something about adding quite a bit of weight over the off season. Really looking for him to be an impact player this year.

Based on the picture he posted on twitter, he looks like he could be our strength coach. Kid needs to take his work ethic and motivate some other guys to bulk up. I'm telling you, if you could get Wanzek to bulk up like Griebel, he would be a total monster.

Agreed, Rudolph has a lot of tools this year. Time to maximize the potential of this offense. Zero reason that we can't put up big numbers every game.
