  1. Here is my quick list. Not a ton of though on this. Definitely plenty of other names that could make the list, and hopefully make a big impact on the field. Noah Larson Cam Mckinney Tamas Stewart Mikey Griebel Ray Haas
  2. Freshman report today! Anyone going to be posting any updates?
  3. Is this a joke? I don't get it.
  4. Kid looks like a shorter version of eric decker. When I see a kid that hasn't even got college weights under his belt and he already looks like this, it tells me the kid has some serious discipline and work ethic. Can we have griebel get wanzek to bulk up like this, the kid would be unstoppable.
  5. And maybe we will get a full membership invite to the Big 10 this week
  6. Let's just beat Utah.
  7. True, but they think every game in the "Big Fluffy" is weak. I don't take too much of what the trolls say seriously. Though I am looking forward to the MVFC myself.
  8. Even some over on BV are asking what the deal was. Grades? Issues? Obviously they are happy about the commitment, and I would be too. We'll see what happens.
  9. Oh I get that. Just the fact that he was getting that much attention and was rated as the #2 athlete in IA indicates the kid has talent. To your point though, the star system is a joke. Still though, NDSU is just reeling in some guys this week. Crazy stuff.
  10. Did anything ever come out of the Crandall news? Was he actually charged? Were charges dropped? Anything?
  11. Maybe, but most of those rumblings came from Montana Grizz and E Wash fans. So long as we play those teams (even a bad Grizz team) then our schedule strength is ok.
  12. Makes sense.
  13. Wow, just saw they got that Saybein Clark out of IA. 4 star recruit. How much are they paying under the table
  14. Seriously. They are putting together a heck of a class.
  15. Solid point. I had probably bulked sproles in there because I was hoping we would offer him. Props to NDSU though, they have landed some top notch prospects so far. Looks like we just grabbed a safety out of Wisconsin. Tom Miller @tommillergf Kadon Kauppinen, a safety from Sun Prairie HS (Wis.), has committed to play football at UND. He's second commit of 2018 recruiting class.
  16. Jeez, not on the ledge. But it is disappointing to miss on several of these guys. I'm not saying it has anything to do with UND or Bubba. I have always been complimentary of what Bubba has done. Just tough to recruit regionally against a program like the Bison. They have built something people want to be a part of. I'm not saying we won't get there, but it would have been nice to see of few of their recent commits in Grand Forks.
  17. Oh I get it. Just frustrating to continue to watch NDSU get some pretty big names, while UND has not. I know we will get plenty of talent, but it would be nice to start winning some recruiting battles. Though SDSU and NDSU have both had more proven success at this level. I guess UND just needs to keep doing their thing. Have to admit, I was hoping to get a few more commits or even hear of a few more offers after the camp last week.
  18. Well this is going well so far
  19. Good stuff on Kunz! For those who know more about him ... when would he actually comes to campus? who could he be compared to? What is his draft potential?
  20. But even so, if budget couldn't sustain Jones, then you move on far earlier than June/July, when there are still more coaches available. and they have more time to get in and get their program up to speed.
  21. I'm just saying the whole situation could be handled better. Seems strange to be sitting hear at the end of June an not know who your coach will be in a few months. Also saying that if this was hockey, it would have been handled differently. Just think your other sports and players deserve a little better than that.
  22. Agreed, I don't think it has an impact on the two player that left. But still, there is a right way to do stuff, and dragging out this process is not it. Isn't that what they did with football a few years back, and that certainly may have impacted some guys leaving. Of course when Hak left, they had a plan in place, and acted immediately. Now I am a big time hockey fan, but there is not reason these other sports, which are succeeding, should not be given some of the same attention and respect.
  23. I also think the landscape of college hockey has changed a lot. Schools that would never have gotten draft picks in the past are now picking up high recruits. UMASS, Mankato, Duluth has been getting quite a few, St Cloud has picked up quite a few. Then you get some teams, like BU that have been cleaning up with the top recruits. I think there is just more opportunity out there for kids who want to play and be "THE" guy. UND should definitely be on the watch for some of the kids who have committed to Wisco, because there is just no way they will all end up there. Would like to see us land Rizzo, Would like us to still take a shot at Tolvanen. Not sure who else is up and coming, but it would be nice to land a couple more top guys here and there.
  24. Sure should be, but like some other things that the school has done, getting the end result done, doesn't make up for the poor way it has been handled, and how it reflects on the school.
  25. Seems to me that having a bunch of blue chip draft picks are more of a area of bragging rights and add some publicity for the program, but is not necessarily a recipe for a championship. Just look at countless teams from UND, UM and BU. Don't get me wrong, I love the bragging rights, and I love when guys like Toews or Oshie play at UND then tear up the NHL. Though I also love the underdog story with guys like stecher and Caggiulia, and there is a better chance of those guys staying longer. Personally, the winning combo is a some high end players (with the right mentality) surrounded by role players that buy into the coaches system. I'll take a Caggiulia every time against a Mittlestadt. You got Caggiuia for 4 years, and he can do a pull up. A smart guy, from a stupid school, once said, "I'm not looking for the best players, I'm looking for the right ones".
