  1. There never seems to be any discussion in regards to the UND baseball team, so I figured i'd start something on it because I love the game of baseball so much, and i really enjoyed attending the UND games in the spring when i was in school. The team is currently 3-5 heading into their annual road-trip to Florida for their 9 game swing. After they return, they begin their NCC season against Augustana in a 4 game series at Sioux Falls. Offensively, they are led by soph. 3B Troy Wasilowski, who is hitting .429 with 3 homeruns. Senior SS Mark Olson is batting .406, with Jason Fairchild and Ross Olson hitting at a .375 clip. It seems to me that the pitching staff will have to improve a lot for the rest of the season. I don't think they can count on scoring 10-11 runs a game for the rest of the season. Although JJ Scheving is 2-0 with an ERA of 0.69! Other than him, the pitching is mediocre at this point. I know it is still early, and improvement can and will be made throughout the season, but there has to be at least 2 other pitchers that step up and assert themselves as solid 2 and 3 starters in the rotation. Also, i think OF Brad Jaeger has to step it up for the rest of the season and provide more offense. Hopefully he can repeat last year's Florida trip where he went off on the pitching down there. But this year he has avoid going into a slump like he did last year after the Florida trip. Here is the link to the team stats http://fightingsioux.com/sports/baseball/d...asp?PAGE_ID=104. Anyone who has any idea of who is favored in the NCC this year, or your take on the team, please feel free to share. Good luck to the team as they head to Florida. GO SIOUX!!!
  2. You're probably right on that, but he would at the least be considered for the job. Probably a finalist. Of course, this is all pure speculation.
  3. im not saying that McDermott is going to be the guy to force out Alford. I have just heard that if he doesnt get results there soon, he may be on the hot seat. I was just mentioning that because of the fact that Mcdermott coaches in Iowa. I agree in that I dont see Alford being forced out for Mcdermott. Just some food for thought, that's all.
  4. Congrats to Coach McDermott on winning to conference tourney and getting an automatic bid. It's good to see that the former sioux assistant is enjoying success at the D1 level. How much longer before the bigger schools start to take notice of him? I have to think Iowa and Iowa State know about him, especially after UNI beat Iowa and lost to Iowa State by 3 this year. Iowa does have Alford, but they have been marginally successful the past few years. And Iowa State's replacement for Larry Eustachy is Wayne Morgan, and I'm not sure how long he is signed for. As far as other schools taking notice, I'm not really sure. I'll give it less than two years before McDermott is at a major D1 basketball school. What does everyone else think? I know one thing, I'll be cheering for UNI come tourney time.
  5. Legend, what did you post that got you banned on bisonville? i am curious, as i'm sure everyone else on here is. just curious
  6. UND 92,96, Barreiro, or "The Common Man"?
  7. PCM, While I respect your opinion also, please include my whole post if you are going to quote me on something. The rest of my post that you quoted stated that I was relating his anti-UND bias to his column on Jimmy. You failed to include that in your quote of my post. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but that was my reasoning.
  8. PCM, I realize that his column on Jimmy wasn't anti-UND on the surface. But for him to say that Jim is overrated in his pass-catching abilities, makes me think that there is an underlying, subtle bias against him because he is from UND. Either that, or he just didn't do his homework. All that aside, McFeely is and has been anti-UND in every possible aspect that he can. I don't think anyone can refute that. I was merely trying to correlate that with his recent column in regards to Jimmy.
  9. Dear Mike McFeely, After reading your editorial in regards to Jim Kleinsasser and his free-agent status, I find myself in a current state of bewilderment and pondering. How the hell did you get your job? Who hired you and what were their motives for hiring you? Were you and Steve Hallstrom separated at birth? You both seem to share the same brain of inactivity. You are the most negative, superficial, ignorant columnist of sensationalism that I have ever seen. Your meager attempt at "big city" journalism is displaying just how pathetic you are. Hello Michael, you live in Fargo, ND. We all see right through you on this one. You have to include substance and credibility in your columns, Mikey. I haven't seen any of that out of you for quite some time now. So now it's time to take down all your Jim Rome posters off your walls, and stop sending fanatical mail to him on a weekly basis. Come back to reality and start writing columns like you used to - with knowledgable tact and without a biased hatred of UND. It is really sad to see that your deep hatred (and jealousy) of UND has filtered down into your no-talent, uninformed opinion regarding NFL football also. Oh by the way Michael, ndsu ended the rivalry by leaving Division II football, NOT UND.

  11. now this guy knows his sioux football. an excellent post for a first-timer. welcome aboard. note that i am not saying that other people that have posted on this thread dont know what they are talking about. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. except for Sioux01.
  12. In my opinion, Kuper is a "pure" guard. He has very good feet for an o-lineman. Has anyone ever just taken time to watch him pull? He absolutely destroys people. Usually after the thuderous "crack" of initial contact, there are always some sort of helmet accessorie flying, whether its his or his opponents. He is always re-strapping his chin straps, or the other guys is picking up his ear pads and his "chiclets" off the ground. It's actually pretty funny watching him pull.
  13. how insightful of you bison1234........thanks for the "education". that never crossed my mind.
  14. Bison Fans? Looks to me like a Bison player this time. I'd venture to guess that "SU WR #1 AB" is Allen Burrell.
  15. thanks admin, i do realize in the off-season that there isnt much football to be talked about, and sometimes hockey will be brought up in many rebuttals. just so you know, i wasnt questioning your admin responsibilities and duties, in fact i wasnt even referring to you, not that I think you thought that. i think you do a great job regulating this site. i appreciate the response. thanks.
  16. Now I know that there are a lot of UND hockey fans on here, and thats fine and dandy. Im not angry, rather just asking nicely if eveyone could reserve their hockey comments for the Hockey Forum. I sometimes get tired of hockey always being brought up in football threads. Yes, I know sometimes UND fans are just defending against bison stupidity at times, but there is a separate hockey forum to discuss those issues. I ask that people dont get upset about this. Prefer to talk football instead.
  17. they must not have ordered the top quality lockers from Debourgh Mfg.
  18. sounds like he is more than qualified. here's the link : http://fightingsioux.com/sports/football/r...RELEASE_ID=2658
  19. weather elements have never helped ndsu, or UND for that matter, ever win a game outdoors? wow, im dumbfounded by that comment. i know that teams from the south and west coast would love coming to below-freezing temps in december, since they are so use to it, and it would have no effect on their playing. simply amazing
  20. ScottM, you're right on both counts. he is an idiot, and he is working his way, with great leaps and bounds i might add, towards being the king of idiocy. keep up the good work man, you're almost to the peak of your potential.
  21. Dont get me started about "The Common Man". man, is he terrible.
  22. thanks Dons, you are right and we are dumb. just remember who started this insane conversation about bigger school players, etc.(bison1234).........thanks for sharing your infinite wisdom and your "3 cents" worth though. thats my four cents. 5 anyone?
