That's fine. It's your prerogative. It doesn't make you a bad guy, just "bandwagon" that's all. If you are going to stay home during the toughest times of the transition, then stay home during the good times too.
-
UND Fan is right. Perfect examples of front-running fans who aren't very loyal to the programs and UND. And that's fine, it just shows their true colors. To each their own, I guess. The kids deserve the support no matter who they are playing. ESPECIALLY during the transition. That is when it will be needed the most. If you won't support the teams during the transition hard times, then don't support them 5 years from now either when the schedule has taken a turn for the better and conference affiliations come true. Attitudes like that are embarrassing.

Noseguards Ty Boyle and Nate Wayne also return next year. Hopefully Wayne can stay healthy. He has been banged up the last couple years or so. I have also heard that the coaches really like Devin Benjamin's potential as a noseguard. We do need some young linebackers to step up and assert themselves. Can't wait to go to games again this fall to see how all of this plays out. Should be an exciting 1st year in the FCS.

Another uninformed opinion. I think Aaron would be the first to tell you that wasn't the case. Keep trying.
-
Somebody awaken 'The Walrus' from his winter slumber to get out to practice and fill us in on the younger guys.
-
Nice. That is great news! I will see you there in green and white.

While it certainly sounds all fine and dandy in theory, some might say we don't have time to allow the new AD to build those relationships that Rob Bollinger built over his 20+ years of service at UND. I think that is the major point of all of this. We are in the transition period, which is probably the most vital time ever for UND for many different reasons. Hence the reasoning for many people wanting Rob. Also, I can't remember ANYBODY saying that Rob has applied for the job. I'm not sure where you got that information from. Are you just trying to argue with yourself? I think most of these comments are speculative in the event that Rob does apply for the job.

The old "hire from within" routine? When was the last time UND employed that strategy with an administrative position? Lets see..........Tom Buning (great resume, fund raising and D1 experience), Charles Kupchella, Robert Kelley - all "outsiders". I think Kelley will be good and I am ok with that hiring. However, I think UND as a university is in the predicament they are currently in because of the past practices of hiring "fresh ideas and fresh perspectives". See the Buning, Ralston and Kupchella hirings for that instance.
-
I really hope you aren't implying that I think or said that outsiders are evil.
-
Seriously Shawn-O? The guy is saying what he needs to say to get the job, and more power to him. To say he is "ten times more qualified" than Rob is ridiculous in my opinion. Rob is the most qualified guy if he decides to apply. "No Offense"

UND has received a signed tender from a player from Montmorency College in Laval, Quebec. Filipe Fonseca is a 6'0" 215 lb linebacker who looks very impressive on film. He looks like he will be a great addition to the UND defense. Hopefully there will be a couple more to come in the near future. Great job by the staff to find these unknowns to the north.
-
Look for a couple signees to come from north of the border.
-
Thanks Big #75, I was hoping you would come on here and confirm it since you would know more about Ian than anybody else on here. All of us look forward to having Ian on campus as a member of the Fighting Sioux Football Family this fall.
-
I have been told that his commitment to UND is solid. Those schools were listed on there before he ever committed to UND. Hopefully, we see him on the good list of signees on Tuesday.
-
While it is always disappointing to lose kids that have committed to us, I take a little solace in the fact that we lost him to a FBS school. Goes to show that Coach Mussman and his staff are recruiting the right kids.

Sicatoka, Where did you find that info in terms of who voted for who?

I concur with the Walrus. I think Bruce Smith would be an excellent president and his resume says a lot about his impressive career. I have had a chance in the past to meet Bruce and his wife Ann. Both are class acts and very nice people. If you are looking to check out any of the candidates, at the bare minimum you should go see Bruce Smith. If I lived in Grand Forks, I would be at the Memorial Union at 3:30 today to see what Bruce brings to the table. Good luck to Bruce and Ann.

Sioux get another verbal commitment from 6'5" 315lb offensive lineman Ian Rosario out of Alaska. Had an official visit to the University of Washington and they offered him a walk-on. I believe Washington State was going to ask him to do the same. Big pickup for the Sioux.
-
Which sports telecast was that? Whoever it was had their information reported incorrectly. Austin Vetter was NOT offered a scholarship by UND.
-
Well considering UND didn't offer Vetter an official visit or a scholarship, and offered a scholarship to Edem after his official visit, I would think the UND staff thought he was better. Add the fact that he had full ride offers from Ohio and Montana would lead me to believe Edem was more highly recruited. Whether or not that means he is better will be known in the next few years. Having said all that, it looks as though they offered the right kid IMO. Edem and Wisthoff should be a great combo for the next 4-5 years.

UND Football has received another verbal commitment. Chris Tracy from West Lyon High School in Iowa will play OLB for the Sioux. He received many accolades as a DB and RB in high school. He is listed at 6' 2", 205 lbs. I'm guessing he is very athletic and has good speed if he is being recruited as a weakside OLB. We have also received a verbal commitment from a player who had a scholarship offer from the Griz who is NOT from Montana. More to come on that one. I can't remember a time when we have had this many verbals before Christmas. Keep em' coming boys.
-
While Horner is a very good player, and a good commit for ndsu, he was not brought in for an official visit or offered a scholarship by UND. Not really surprising considering we have Chappell, Murray and Solum already.
-
Good call, LennonIsTheMan. I agree with you, support the team, and fill that flight. Our sioux fan following last week was impressive. Let's see that again.

Corella, who told you he is going to UMD? Is it a reliable source?
