  1. While it is always disappointing to lose kids that have committed to us, I take a little solace in the fact that we lost him to a FBS school. Goes to show that Coach Mussman and his staff are recruiting the right kids.
  2. Sicatoka, Where did you find that info in terms of who voted for who?
  3. I concur with the Walrus. I think Bruce Smith would be an excellent president and his resume says a lot about his impressive career. I have had a chance in the past to meet Bruce and his wife Ann. Both are class acts and very nice people. If you are looking to check out any of the candidates, at the bare minimum you should go see Bruce Smith. If I lived in Grand Forks, I would be at the Memorial Union at 3:30 today to see what Bruce brings to the table. Good luck to Bruce and Ann.
  4. Sioux get another verbal commitment from 6'5" 315lb offensive lineman Ian Rosario out of Alaska. Had an official visit to the University of Washington and they offered him a walk-on. I believe Washington State was going to ask him to do the same. Big pickup for the Sioux.
  5. Which sports telecast was that? Whoever it was had their information reported incorrectly. Austin Vetter was NOT offered a scholarship by UND.
  6. Well considering UND didn't offer Vetter an official visit or a scholarship, and offered a scholarship to Edem after his official visit, I would think the UND staff thought he was better. Add the fact that he had full ride offers from Ohio and Montana would lead me to believe Edem was more highly recruited. Whether or not that means he is better will be known in the next few years. Having said all that, it looks as though they offered the right kid IMO. Edem and Wisthoff should be a great combo for the next 4-5 years.
  7. UND Football has received another verbal commitment. Chris Tracy from West Lyon High School in Iowa will play OLB for the Sioux. He received many accolades as a DB and RB in high school. He is listed at 6' 2", 205 lbs. I'm guessing he is very athletic and has good speed if he is being recruited as a weakside OLB. We have also received a verbal commitment from a player who had a scholarship offer from the Griz who is NOT from Montana. More to come on that one. I can't remember a time when we have had this many verbals before Christmas. Keep em' coming boys.
  8. While Horner is a very good player, and a good commit for ndsu, he was not brought in for an official visit or offered a scholarship by UND. Not really surprising considering we have Chappell, Murray and Solum already.
  9. Good call, LennonIsTheMan. I agree with you, support the team, and fill that flight. Our sioux fan following last week was impressive. Let's see that again.
  10. Corella, who told you he is going to UMD? Is it a reliable source?
  11. Ummm 4-H, SCSU beat UND at the Alerus in 2002. Dohhh!!!!
  12. i hope everyone realizes that i know that "the play" is by far the best in the history of sioux football. i think that goes without saying, especially with the avatar i have of luke hoisting the national championship trophy. by far, the best moment is sioux football.
  13. Wow, there are so many. Here are a few of the specific individual plays that stick out in my mind: - Mike Mooney's strip against the Bison to end the streak in 1993 - Chad Mustard's catch and plow for a TD against Pitt. St. in the 2001 playoffs. - Obviously, Jimmy's catch and run against the Bison in 1998. - Travis Lueck's diving catch last year, I forget against who, but I do know he ended his season on that play by breaking his collar bone. Best catch I have seen. Those are just a few off the top of my head. But by far the most amazing college football play I have seen with my own eyes: - Kelly Howe running down Josh Ranek @ SDSU in 1998. Ranek broke through the line and was off to the races for about a 90 yard run, and I swear Ranek had a 15 yard lead on Howe. Kelly catches him from behind, punches the ball loose, and Brant Grimes recovers the fumble in the endzone for a touchback. Ended up being the difference in the game and was voted "Hustle Play of the Year" nationally in college football. Simply unbelievable. I know it this is supposed to be BEST FOOTBALL MOMENTS, but Big Game's post about Jimmy got me thinking about individual plays. Obviously winning the national title has to up there, as well as all last year's comebacks and the title game.
  14. They still have Brian Kelly listed on there as a D-II coach for Grand Valley State.
  15. While I agree that UND's defense will be "salty" this year, I have heard great things about Delta and their offense. I realize some sarcasm was in place for your comment, but for anyone to say that they expect UND to shut them out, is not being realistic. Sounds like they have a big, physical receiver that could be a possible NFL prospect, as well as a solid returning starting QB, and a stable of good running backs. Also, I heard that their defense is very strong as well. Film has already been looked at by the UND staff for the first game, and all indications are that they will definitely have their hands full with this team. You also have to keep in mind that this program won a national championship in 2000, and are probably beginning to reap the benefits of the recruiting classes from the years following the title run. Those recruiting classes from 2001 and 2002 are getting older and more mature. It's always easier to recruit the best kids when you win a championship. Look for a tough, close game at The Alerus on August 28th. Wow, that's only a month and a half away. GO SIOUX!!!
  16. Tim Hennessy was just on KFAN with PA and Dubay, and he indicated that he believes that Dave Hakstol is the front-runner to replace Blais. Sounded pretty confident in saying that too.
  17. The ndsu recruit from Florida's name is Washington, and hes listed at 5'4", 145lbs. Here's the link from when he signed: http://www.sptimes.com/2004/04/07/Sports/S...k_fails_t.shtml
  18. How big is your recruit from Miami again? Dressler looks like a heavyweight next to your Miami recruit. Didn't I ask you to stop being an idiot earlier? You just cant help yourself, can you?
  19. we are also the team that beat your team fair and square. remember that? please stop with the idiocy.
  20. thats it, im on the next flight to kentucky to kick that a$$.
  21. ill answer this one. in short, sdsu pitcher gives up 2 monster bombs, back to back i think. one of which was over the lights in left field, an absolute moon ball. so the sdsu pitcher is sick of getting shelled and wants out of the game. he looks in the dugout for the sympathy exit, doesnt get it from the coaches. so to get himself out of the game, he blatantly throws at the next batter and misses him. next pitch is inside a bit. third pitch is at the batters head again. ump throws the pitcher out, pitcher looks at the ump with the expression of "finally, its about time" and simply walks to the dugout with no argument. so the ejection was definitely just. coach Z is fired up because thats one of his best hitters being thrown at, so he tells the pitching coach what he thought of it. pitching coach takes offense, and freaks out at Z for accusing him of it. they are in each others face with an ump between them. then the head coach for sdsu comes out and starts yelling, then the asst's for UND come over, and before u know it, its a bench-clearing coaches yelling match. to top all of this off, there was a good crowd and student showing on this day. well, the students of course were all over the sdsu head coach, who in turn tipped his hat to the students and made a gesture to his back-side. this head coach is worthless and classless, and i think the asst. should be the head because he does everything, and the head does nothing. on top of that, the sdsu head coach takes photos from the field of the students on the deck. simply classless. in defense of the sdsu coaches, i really dont think that they told their pitcher to throw at the batter. the pitcher just wanted out, and that was his escape. all that being said, sdsu's head coach is bush-league. it was pretty interesting and entertaining though.
  22. BisonMav, please tell me you arent saying that sdsu-ndsu or ucd-ndsu would have outdrawn the SIOUX-bison game at the fargodome last year. please? i know you arent that ignorant.
  23. Bisonfan1234, Hunt no doubt is a good player. But to even mention him in the same breath as Eslinger, more or less say he is better than him, just solidifies the fact that you know nothing about football, and that you are a dillusional bison fan.
  24. Tony, You make ridiculous and outlandish requests. Is Roger Thomas the head of the NCAA-DII Football committee? You make it sound as if all he needs to do is snap his fingers, and VOILA!!!, no more SOS Index. Another thing, the top DII teams are capable of beating ANY DI-AA team in any year. You guys showed it last year by beating Montana. Stop thinking that because you are DI-AA, you are a superior football school. Simply put, youre not.
  25. WOW!!!! I dont know if anybody saw, but SDSU lost to the gophers 3-2 yesterday in Minneapolis. While I realize that Minnesota probably didnt throw any of their top pitchers, this still comes as a surprise to me considering that Minnesota beat Nebraska, Florida St., and Cal St.-Fullerton earlier in the year at the dome, and SDSU has been awful all year. UND better not let down this weekend.
