  1. Yeah, terrible start so far. Hopefully the boys bounce back.
  2. Call me crazy, but based on what I have seen from Montana on TV this year, I don't think they are that good. Now, watch them run the table.
  3. Haven't heard a whole lot about the young o-line, but I forgot to mention the great reviews I have heard about the freshman OL, Joe Kleason from CDH. Apparently the coaches love his potential. I have to imagine he will be in the mix next fall as a freshman. Maybe not starting right away, but pushing for playing time at the least. Haven't heard anything about Doehling, Field, Hoerchner or the two Nelsons, who are all redshirts this year. Hopefully there is some promise in that group too. With Koelln, Keller and Bondy all graduating this year, and Bakke apparently having to hang it up for medical reasons, we are going to be awfully young next season on the o-line depth chart. Both scary and exciting at the same time.
  4. I've heard great things about Blair Townsend from Coon Rapids. He was recruited as a QB/athlete but my understanding is that his athletic ability will be best served at WR. Ironically enough, the fightingsioux.com roster has his jersey number as 86 and his position as QB. Maybe a sign that he will ultimately be a WR for sure? He will be a big difference-maker at whichever position he is used at. I also have heard that Greg Hardin has potential to be an immediate contributor. Probably more of a "scatty" slot guy with his size and speed. Excited about those two. No doubt that Chris Anderson, Drew Daggett and Jon Heimler all need to step up this spring so they are ready to contribute next fall. Last year's recruiting class is filled with tons of great athletes. Hopefully they evolve into great college football players in the next couple years.
  5. I agree 100%. I simply misread his post. I thought he was saying we lost Northeastern U from our schedule since they dropped football.
  6. My apologies. I misread this. I see what you are saying. Pick up someone from the old Northeastern schedule. My bad.
  7. Right, according to the 2010 schedule on the UND website, we are playing the DII. Maybe it's an error.
  8. IIRC, we aren't scheduled to play Rocky's Northeastern U. squad. According to the UND website, we are scheduled to play Northeastern State. Maybe I'm wrong?
  9. Now the feed dropped.
  10. Will anyone who has had problems with the Internet feed PLEASE email the athletic department to tell them about it. This stuff has been going on now for 3 years. Time to figure it out. Brutal.
  11. I dont know about you but i have been on commercials for about the last 8 minutes.....AGAIN.
  12. fightingsioux.com
  13. I'm still listening to commercials on the Internet feed? WTF!?!?
  14. Anyone have a link to watch online?
  15. Am I the only one who thinks the freshman QB should have been pulled after the 1st quarter? Maybe put the senior back in? While he has a very bright future, O'Brien has been awful for the most part today. Maybe I'm crazy.
  16. I came across a video interview on the Prep Sports section of the Star Tribune website of Billy Turner after Mounds View's section playoff win against Roseville on October 31st. They eventually ask him about his recruitment and I find it interesting at the least that he mentions us first when naming schools. Maybe it was an accident, maybe not. I realize that a week after the interview, Hallstrom reported his verbal to ndsu on his blog, but I don't think we should stop recruiting this kid given the fact that his "verbal" seems so uncertain and awfully soft. Has any other media outlet besides the bison blog reported the verbal from Turner? The article that 92,96 linked and posted came 6 days after the Hallstrom blog post. It mentions ndsu and Northern Iowa as the leaders in that article, but doesn't quote the kid as saying he has verballed to ndsu. Maybe he does end up at UNI or ndsu eventually, but I'm not sure we shouldn't stay on him.
  17. IMO, this is the KEY to UND Football in the near future. A Sioux-Bison game would then have to happen. All this would have a positive domino effect on the football program in the long run. I believe getting into the Summit would have a positive effect on getting into the MVFC. Maybe I am wrong. Enter the Sioux nickname and logo decision.
  18. As already stated in this thread earlier, I also strongly encourage everyone to forward these thoughts to Alerus management and AD Brian Faison.
  19. Amen, RD17. You da man. Great post.
  20. And I respect yours. Being upset with this loss, as well as being critical of the team and coaches is fine. I was referring to some other things that were being said when I talked about "going off the deep end". Nobody should consider this loss to be acceptable.
  21. Did anyone just hear Woog say "YEAH BABY!!!"?..
  22. No kidding. I'm not sure what I'm more disappointed in, the way UND played and lost today, or the way some people are commenting. No doubt, it's very disappointing and unacceptable for us to lose to a NAIA team. Sioux Falls is talented, well-coached and disciplined and were the better team today. No excuses. I'm no happier about it than anyone else on here. I think it sucks bad that we lost to them and I am very frustrated. However, I like Shawn-O's idea. Wait till the end of the season to see how this thing plays out before going off the deep end. We will learn a lot about the overall character of this team in the coming weeks. What we do from here on out for the rest of the season will have a very big effect on how we recruit in the near future. Hopefully, we have reached bottom in terms of morale for the transition. We knew it wasn't going to be easy. Nowhere to go but up from here.
  23. Nice. Great pickup.
  24. While I regretfully won't be making it up this weekend to watch the football and the hockey games, I take a little comfort in the fact that I get to watch UND Hockey on Friday evening on FSN North, Sioux Football on Saturday afternoon on Fox College Sports, and then UND Hockey again on Saturday evening on FSN North, all from the comfort of my own home on this little thing called Direct TV. Fantastic. That TV deal is HUGE. I really hope the hockey crowd makes it over to the football game in the afternoon to support the team.
