Damn. That's a bummer.
-
So SFI and UND both have it listed incorrectly then?...

Spring prospectus from UND shows Arrington as a Jr: http://www.undsports.com/pdf9/3324013.pdf Every thing I remember hearing is that he's a Junior with 2 years left.
-
According to SFI's depth chart, Arrington has 2 years at UND. He's only a junior this fall.
-
Truth and logic? You are gonna wax like that given your history here? That is solid gold. Everyone is still staying right? No exodus?...
-
I still think Studsrud is the guy that fits best in this offense and is the guy the staff would have the best options with. But it's also great to hear Bartels progressing as well. We will need all 3 guys next fall and it should be a good competition.

Thanks teeder. Fantastic.

Fair enough.

I would say that this had everything to do with the circumstances of him being the AD at UND at the time of all of that. Yeah sure, he got that done, but it's not because he is such a strong leader. It's because he happened to be the AD at UND at the time. Any AD at a school like UND, in their situation, at that time, could have and should have accomplished those things. Do we need to go back to the things he hasnt done or done well? I just disagree with the idea that you can point to that to say "hey, look at all he's done".

I have yet to see anyone in their right mind who has said this, here or otherwise. Have you?

I disagree that the Big Sky teams would have the same effect on ticket sales as the MVFC teams on a year to year basis. Montana is by far the most appealing BSC draw for UND Football fans. We have hosted them 3 times so far: 2012 - 9000 2013 - 9726 2014 - 9025 Average 9250. Not bad, but I tend to think it would be behind the Dakota school averages in a MVFC schedule. If anything, I believe it has been proven and shown that UND fans care less about the Big Sky teams when compared to the Dakota schools and even maybe UNI (weve never hosted them for football, but we have for basketball). Hosting these schools every other year would make a big difference in ticket sales in my opinion. And yes, winning obviously helps everything, I agree 100%. But all equal, the MVFC annual schedule brings much more interest from casual UND football fans, and in turn ticket sales. I know many, many people who would be inclined to purchasing season football tickets simply because of the certainty of one game specifically on the schedule every other year.

You also must have missed the part where I said is wasn't an option at the time and that it was hypothetical and that UND took the only invite they had in the Big Sky, which was a great invite and option. And since conference affiliations never change, specifically within the last 10 years or so, I suppose it shouldn't be discussed as a potential option moving forward either. The title of this thread?
-
When is the last time we had 10,000 at the Alerus?...
-
Really? I guess we agree to disagree. People would be getting season tickets that normally wouldnt because of regional familiarity (ndsu, SDSU, USD, UNI, et al) on the schedule. Plus if you want tickets to the big rivalry game, you will want to get on board early.

So Coleman and Shields are still staying too then right? Anyone?
-
Honest question: How would UND Football ticket sales be in 2015 if we were facing a MVFC schedule versus a Big Sky Football Conference schedule? EDIT: And/or Mens and Womens Basketball?
-
I argued from the beginning in my personal friend circles that if we had an invite to the MVFC/Summit and an invite from the BSC, that it would be in the best interests of UND to take the MVFC/Summit for a variety of reasons. Of course, Patty, in her infinite wisdom, decided that wasn't a good idea. I think both sides missed out on a good partnership moving forward, specifically with the stabilization of the Summit for Basketball and Baseball. So we didnt have an option, and we took the Big Sky Conference invite, which was and still is an outstanding conference. Also, the travel budgets would be cut down significantly for all sports. I would love to use that money towards coaching salaries that we all crave right now, among other things. Given what has transpired since about 2011 or so, I feel even stronger about this now than I did before. From a business standpoint, I still believe it would be in UND's best interest to be in the MVFC/Summit. Having said that, I was happy then and am happy now that we are in the Big Sky Conference. It's a great league. It's just that in a hypothetical situation, I would choose the closer schools and conference.

I think he was just pointing out how difficult next season could be.
-
Nice comeback. But you have nothing else, so I guess I don't blame you.
-
Great job by the SID staff on that one. Very good info.
-
This is incorrect. The "masses" are the vast majority on this board who disagree with the minority (you).
-
So did Jensen.
-
So Coleman and Derouen are expected to be around next season for sure? Thought they were maybe talked about earlier as candidates to leave the program? Or was that bad info on here?

I think this o-line is best served with Meehan down at right guard, assuming you have 2 solid tackles in place between Stockwell, Cox and Camy. That would be ideal I think as I believe Meehan's best natural fit is at guard. It's nice to have that flexibility though. It's also possible and maybe even likely that a freshman hog jumps out in fall camp and is on the 2 deep. I really like how the mentality and makeup of the offensive line is coming along under Bubba, Rudolph and Knauf.
