Mankato the worst defensive team in the country...not the league, the country. Sounds like Blais isn't relying on the "puck luck" excuse as much as last year--said the guys have to get into position & work for their goals regardless of how good the opposing goalie is...Brandt in goal Audio working very well so far.

Enough with the naughty talk--this is a family-oriented forum.

If it's for how cute they are, I definitely want my vote back Looks like Ziggy's laying an egg so far, he must not have any family members on this board.

But I thought the NCAA was all about maximizing profits (i.e., regional playoff seedings)? I've read a lot of gripes on this board about the NCAA focusing on money too much & I wonder what stops them from placing ads on boards at the Frozen Four & turning players into skating billboards.

Yep, a true liberal I think that's quite possible, mainly because his current 6-station market is too small to contain his ever-growing ego. That's because the market determines content. If there were such a big demand for liberal talk radio we'd already be exposed to it. Yes, & it's called secular humanism. I noticed that Chuck Haga wrote that article; he used to write for the G.F. Herald. I always liked his viewpoints & thought he was too talented to be stuck in the G.F. market.

Finally a real poll--Brandt.

Raising their GPAs should be on their priority list as well. Wait a second, we're talking hockey here. Screw academics...just win, baby.

Rep. Tancredo demands apology from Mexican Ambassador -
My wife could provide plenty of free wind energy & I can guarantee there would be no transmission difficulties. Does anyone know why solar energy fell out of favor? Is wind energy more practical or economical?

Correct you are--it's been awhile since I saw that classic.

Hey there. Grew up in G.F. True, Sioux hockey fans are spread all over the country--no matter where you go, there they are.

Who was Otter anyway? Wasn't he that fat kid in a beanie that got no respect? Not exactly flattering for PCM

And I'll make it a point to see him in person when he decides to make the leap. Not really into the Coyotes, but I'd really like to see him in person & cheer for the guy.

Please accept my apologies for not knowing your personal history--I must have missed that personal autobiography you were supposed to e-mail me

Thx for sharing that, Carl. Smart choice, very smart. I'm just a little surprised that someone from the metro area can escape the endless droning of the Gopher propaganda machine...

Boy, this is the "feel good" thread of the day. I'm so pumped up after reading your inspiring posts that I'm headed out to Blockbuster so I can can rent Rudy, Hoosiers & every other "feel good" movie out there. Just wondering, Carl: How does a guy from Bloomington wind up cheering for the Sioux? Did a Gopher player not autograph your stick when you were 5 & you're carrying a grudge to this day?

Looks like He's a little too old to be playing midget AAA--gotta be some rules infraction there

Or King Blais himself. Blais has quite a bit of pull & he's probably not very satisfied with the way the students are being treated & having to play in a quiet arena.

Something's wrong in this world when the Savior's wearing Badger red. If what skateshattrick says is true, oh boy. Gonna be tough to hang #8 when there's disharmony between the coach & the more experienced goaltender.

Craig Perry (sp) used to do this part-time last year but I don't know about this season.

Maybe security will slap duct tape over students' mouths & hog-tie them to their seats at the next home game & call it "Fan appreciation night". Then patrol the aisles & zap them with cattle prods if they happen to get loose The most effective means of protest is the one that takes $$$ out of pockets--that gets people's attention the quickest. However, I don't see a lot of students protesting outside in subzero temps. while their team is playing. I would start off by directing a letter to your closest ally, Roger Thomas, to see if he can act as a go-between in your negotiations with Kupchella & to see if some reasonable middle-of-the-road compromise can be reached. If that fails & you guys feel that you're still being treated like cattle, a petition stating your displeasure & what you intend to do if this nonsense continues might be in order-- I don't know, I'm just shooting from the hip here. You guys will probably get something worked out & difficulties such as these usually arise in the beginning before a big change. To answer Diggler's question, I think petitions have to be notarized for them to be official. Political petitions such as a move to get a new initiative on a ballot before an election generally require a certain # of signatures beforehand. Good luck, guys & gals...

PCM: I have to leave now to pick up my wife at work so I have but a few minutes to respond & probably not very soundly due to my hurriedness. I agree with you that profanity is not to be condoned & I never said it should be. Arizona State bb fans taunted Steve Kerr (former U of A player) at a game shortly after his dad was killed in Lebanon (I think) & I found that deplorable. I was merely pointing out that there are various shades of gray in the taunting repertoire, some acceptable & good-natured & others vulgar & uncalled-for, & when I refuted your double standard argument earlier I should have clarified that I was not for obscene chants. If you read that article again, you'll notice that the Mexican fans were saying that after the game & not before so I see it as mean-spirited & not just rooting on their team like you stated (because the game was already over)... -

Nice post, BisonMav: I don't understand why they would have a beef with G.W.--he's a globalist neo-conservative who wants to eliminate our borders. Paleo-conservatives who value sovereignty, small government & fiscal responsibility are outraged at him. That's goofy to assume. They're balkanizing our country to the tune of 2,000 illegals/day--they're also driving down wages & destroying the middle class because they'll work for peanuts on the dollar. The construction industry used to be a noble profession until they took it over. Yes, I can. We would have an even bigger flood of them across our borders looking for work here.
