And it's pretty common for rosters to have exaggerated stats: athletes are generally shorter & lighter when you actually meet/see them So my guess would be 5'8", 158 lbs. If Oshie were a boxer or wrestler, on the other hand, then I'd take these figures as gospel...

Am curious also about Oshie's physical stats--we have another Brad DeFauw here or another Dave Hoogsteen or something in between? No listing on Heisenberg yet...

It's really common amongst a handful of elite h.s. 5A football teams here. Kids will transfer from across the valley to one of these winning schools. That's why every year you see the same teams in the playoffs-no small wonder. Might be similar to Danny Irmen who transferred from some Fargo school & played a year or so at Red River. It's official now, dagies. You might wanna make a mental note of that moose97 (?) who stated this on USCHO before the rest of us knew.

Oshie is like a lot of the h.s. athletes around here (specifically football, basketball & baseball) who transfer to successful programs in order to get recognized & hopefully recruited--except in Oshie's case he transferred halfway across the country. No wonder he was clueless re: UND; but still, if he's a true college hockey aficionado he should know about the Fighting Sioux. Come on, T.J.!! Hell no it wasn't a coincidence he just happened to transfer to Warroad--just playin' the system Welcome aboard, T.J.!

Thanks for clarifying that, PCM. I know it's a sticky situation but it's nice to get the coaches' impressions sometimes as they know more about a kid, his abilities, strengths, etc. than some beat writer for the Forum. I understand your point though.

It sounds like we're in the same boat--$$$, opportunities & other big-city trappings are just too difficult to replace with peace of mind & a sense of community. I don't have any kids yet & that probably explains why I still live here. Note to anyone out there with youngins who's contemplating moving to Phoenix: DON'T! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RALPH & HERBIE--JUST DON'T!! Never have I seen a f***ed-up state across the board like Arizona. Pi$$-poor education, rampant crime, psychotic drivers, a gazillion illegal aliens, awful social services, crazy summertime heat, crooked politicians galore...you name it, we got it...the bottom of the barrel, that is. I think, no I know, that God shakes the continental U.S. like a big acorn tree & all the nuts fall down to Florida & Arizona. Geez...
