Classless Mexican Soccer Fans
sioux fan in phoenix replied to MinnesotaNorthStar's topic in Community
For all that the U.S. does for Mexico, this is a sad commentary. Their poor citizens stream across our border illegally & receive billions of dollars of free medical care, education & social services--& they in turn wire home $$$ to the tune of 14.5B/year, making this larger than their huge tourism industry. We're supporting Mexico's poor class & we get booed? Talk about ingrates. Yeah, elmduf, right. It's our arrogant national attitude that causes others to hate us & for this you could care less that a bunch of backwater 3rd worlders cheer "Osama" while the American taxpayer is basically carrying that pathetic, corrupt country on its back. You're not defending the "Osama" cheer but you're also not condemning it either. Sad, sick & disgusting that a fellow American would feel this way. This speaks volumes about your weak American patriotism. Over 3k people died on 09/11--I'm sure surviving family members of that incident would agree with your giving imbecilic Mexican fans a free pass on this one. -
Man, some pretty funny stuff here Had no idea that soft porn qualified as a sport. How do sorority "sleep overs", "Bad girls behind bars", "pole" dancing, etc. qualify as sports?

Matt Greene vs. Brian Canady
sioux fan in phoenix replied to hockey_heaven83's topic in Men's Hockey
Let's see, at present there are 20 votes. I certainly hope it's 20 women who voted here--if not... -
From Sioux fans: After further review you are a complete dork. Congratulations, but don't have any kids!!!

Thx for the clarification, guys. Didn't know that the ref could ask the goal judge how a goal was scored; I thought it was only if.
-
Why is that? Both teams have the same # of points & the same remaining # of conference games. Why the difference?

FYI, this poll is about who looks better; not who's the more valuable player. Is forecheck the only woman here who talks hockey? -
Sounds like the offensive defenseman this team needs--something along the lines of a Murphy or Roche. Great news & it sounds like this is his 3rd year of juniors.
-
I wonder if there is anything in the NCAA rulebook about going through a prescribed course of action when a disputed goal is in question--in this case, if the puck crossed the goal line before the buzzer & if a ref is supposed to consult with the goal judge. Also, I thought that the red light would not come on if a goal judge flicks his switch after the buzzer-- that the light was somehow connected with the buzzer & was inoperable after the buzzer. Did anybody see a red light?

For some reason, that quote stood out for me.

I think we have offensive depth when our players actually put forth an effort & try. Players were stepping up while the gang was away at the WJC but, when they return, it's like they (2-4 lines) become complacent & expect the top line to do all the scoring & carry them to victory. The same is true in life. Just look at a fairly large workplace & you'll see some employees busting their butt while others ride their coattails & loaf around. I think that may be a part of the problem with this group of talented players.

"The sun even shines on a dog's butt once in awhile."--anon Those comments by Eaves aren't surprising. I wouldn't expect him to say, "Yeah, we were badly outplayed & were lucky to win" or "The Sioux are a much better team than we are & it's amazing they didn't win tonight." He's just naturally praising his team & trying to instill a winning attitude in them. However, you're right. Getting dominated isn't a very good recipe for postseason success, & in the back of his mind he's gotta know his team doesn't have nearly the talent that the Sioux have & that his team can't expect to get outshot 2-1 & go far in the NCAAs. If he doesn't realize that, he's wildly delusional.

Didn't know you were a Sioux fan (the poll is directed at Sioux fans) For me, I chose a Bulldog sweep--anything to keep the Gophers out of the top 3 & as a play-in at the Final Five. I'd like to see rubber legs in the Gophers when they're entering the NCAAs & playing a possible 3 games in 3 days is a good way to achieve that. This is also good in that it forces the Sioux to play their best hockey in order not to fall out of 1st place.

True. A thread on this board is critiquing the parallels of this year's team to last year, but it's not kosher to single out certain players who aren't pulling their fair share? How does one critique a team without evaluating the performances of each of its players? (coaching competency, team conditioning, systemic reasons etc. aside). Siembida was blasted while he was a Sioux & no one should be immune if they exhibit prolonged subpar performances. If Massen had a bad weekend-fine; a bad month...hmmm; a bad season...what the..??; a bad year-time to ask what the hell is up with him...I want him to succeed just as badly as anyone here.

Call it what you want, but you're right, inability to finish, Bruckler and poor Sioux goaltending.
-
Cry me a river. Your personal relationship with him is clouding your judgment. The guy has been performing at a substandard pace for the better part of a year & you want to put him on a pedestal. Jackass.

For what it's worth, thanks for the updates, guys. Great job!
-
With negative results both nights.

BOOOOOOOO!
-
Pull the frickin' goalie!
-
Time check?
-
Maybe Blais will pull the goalie with something like 3 minutes left.
-
Alright, guys!!

Time check, anyone.
