Greene hasn't found his NHL game really. He's played in 30 games this year at most and has seen rather limited ice time in most of them. He's coming around, but this is not his season. So far, though, Hockeysfuture is big on Greene, as are the Oilers front office, coaching staff, and players. Oh yeah, and Edmonton fans seem to like him too. I think he'll find his niche. Like Commodore has found his.

So? The Wings lost to my 3rd favorite NHL team (My 2nd favorite is New Jersey). I'd be more pissed if the Wings lost to a team like, say, the Flyers or worse yet, the Wild.

I'm going to try to word this carefully, but is anyone surprised about just how wonderful Colby Genoway is doing in the AHL? I mean, I knew he was pretty offensively gifted in college, but I had no idea he'd be THIS good when he moved on to the next level. My memory isn't good though. Was he signed by Hartford or was he signed by the Rangers and assigned to Hartford (Yes, there is a difference)?

No problem, but I did it more for Stafford_rules. I didn't want her going and jumping off the Columbia bridge.
-
Not being antagonistic here, but this is something I've never heard before. I'd love to read the article where you found this information. I wouldn't be surprised at all. Nor would I be surprised if places like Fargo and Minot appeared on the list too.

For those optimists out there, this Sabres' Prospect page just lists all the prospects whose rights are owned by Buffalo, not necessarily those who have been signed by the club. That picture at the top is Drew when he donned his Sabres jersey after being drafted (the number of the jersey is 04).

Fair enough. It's your opinion and I can respect that, even if I don't agree.
-
Maybe not, but I do hope whomever it is that is designing his attire that his/her career in that field would die. Hideous.

You need to reread Stafford_rules' post. He said (Not to rip on Smaby) that Stafford was the better contendor than Smaby and listed the main reason because Smaby got ejected a few times. EDIT: And I agree with you otherwise. I think, if Stafford stays, he would be a good replacement for Smaby as Captain. I'd still expect Fabian to get the C, though, but Stafford would be a great Captain or Alternate Captain at worst.
-
Isn't Randall Godfrey a LB that's shorter than Anderson?
-
Ok, not to rip on your post, but you are ripping on Smaby. He was a great captain. Just because he gets ejected for various reasons (officials calling everything) doesn't make him a bad captain. Porter, Prpich, and even Stafford were ejected a few times this year. Now you are questioning Smaby's competitiveness? Drew scored a ton of goals this year. He did REALLY well, but I'll challenge you to name one player who played better defensively than big Matt Smaby. Travis Zajac played good, sure, but man, Smaby is a better checker than Zajac. Positionally, Smaby is better than any other player on the team, the next closest being Chorney. And his leadership was praised by all of his teammates and the coaching staff repeatedly throughout the year. Offensive stats are nice, but they do not define what makes a leader or who wears the C. I think you're wrong when it comes to the leadership choices the team has made this last season. I think Smaby did a GOOD job. And Tampa Bay will be very happy to have him in their organization. Stafford would make a great captain, that much is true. Sometimes, I think he should have wore the letter instead of Prpich or Porter for various reasons. But I never, not once, questioned who should wear the C for the SIoux this season. Smaby was the man. And he played like it all year long.

Any luck with Digger? As much as I love Digger, I don't think he'll be drafted. Could sign an NFL contract though, but I don't think he'll be drafted. Two reasons: 1. Size. He's somewhat undersized. 2. This draft is LB Heavy.
-
Heh. Dbag? Wow. You called me a name! ergo, I win! I was right! Whenever name calling gets started, that is an admission that the person who was called a name was right. Why? Because you've left the issue behind and attacked the person bringing an alternate and opposite opinion to yours to the table. Nice try though. Would you care to rephrase?

I agree. Close this thread. But, Sioux-cia, I tried to be an optimist and think that it wouldn't go there. It did. You see? Optimism sucks.
-
HF.com Article complimenting Greene Greene joines Commodore as becoming fan favorites.
-
I'm not doubting Sioux-cia's post as it does explain why we use the name in very good detail. But what you say is intriguing. I like the name of the Fighting Ojibwe, or maybe the Fighting Iroquois (even though the Iroquois aren't from around here). However, one thing that many people are starting to lose perspective on is that it isn't the Native Americans UND is fighting. It's the NCAA. Whether or not Brand or Harrison hold the hostile and abusive opinion or not is one thing, but they are abusing their power to dictate their own personal agendas. They are illegally modifying the NCAA bylaws to suit their own beliefs and that's descriminatory. THAT is what we are fighting. This has nothing to do with the Native Americans.

Yes and Yes. David's claim to fame was that the Tri City Americans (Jonathan's WHL rights belong to them) targetted David as a ploy to get Jon to sign with Tri City. They claimed that David's stock would fall drastically if Jon didn't sign the contract. Tri City was right, IIRC, David was selected in the 5th round (or maybe he is projected as a 5th rounder in the WHL bantam draft). David plays a different game than Jon. It's similar to Travis and Darcy Zajac. Jordy Murray is Brady's younger brother. He was just invited to try out for the U18 NTDP team. He's very small (5'8" 155) but he's got speed. Some say that Brady is the more talented Murray. I don't recall if the results of that tryout. So far, I can't find any info regarding success for Jordy as far as the U18 team is concerned.
-
That's a good article. He's even gained 1 inch and 10 pounds!
-
And hence the saying "Power corrupts" applies. Myles and Walter (who the hell cares if I misspelled his name) are drunk on their power. They need to do the opposite of Emeril Legase and "take it down a notch"
-
Matt Jones then You know I'm kidding. You should feel no obligation whatsoever. I'm still happy I have that autographed Brady Murray card all decked out in his baby-blue billboard jersey.
-
Maybe I'm just bitter because I didn't win the autographed Toews card? But you can make it up for me by sending me any Karl Goehring stuff you may have I like your idea. It's been done on other message boards too. undinthenhl, you could start a thread called "Sioux Player Pics" and in the comment line (that line under the link aka thing you click on to get into the thread) you can put "WARNING: This thread contains many pictures." They've done that on hockeysfuture.com boards when they get the bug to post prospect pictures from various teams and sources.
-
Not that I am aware of. I thought that was the case before. What IS new is that the European players now have the same rules as Major Juniors (2 years then reenter draft/Free Agent) whereas they used to have their rights held by their drafting team for, basically, as long as the team wished. Don't quote me on that though.

What was meant was ribbing, but what I forgot was at the end of it. My apologies. The "chill out" was towards the picture poster guy. He seems to be totally getting riled up over your posts. And you have to admit the Coyotes aren't the greatest team in the NHL. That was what I was ribbing you about. Saying the Coyote sucks maybe was harsh. I dunno. I think a lot of NHL teams I don't cheer for suck. And I'm still perturbed at Gretzky for certain decisions he's made regarding the team. Not supposed to reflect entirely on you. After all, you do have all those cool prizes. And you do provide a lot of fun over the website during intermissions of games. Sorry if you took offense.

brianvf wasn't gloating, but the guy who started this thread was. I mean, any thread that starts out with "Told you so..." is gloating to me.
