Greene's tripping call didn't look like tripping to me via the camera angles shown, but his back was to the camera so I didn't see the stick work. The BS call of the night was Dustin Penner's goaltender interference call. He bumps into Roloson as Roloson was moving out of the crease and Penner goes. BS call. They just bumped. They should have let the game continue. Anyways, I will say two things about this game: 1. Edmonton got lucky. They came out in the first period and looked rather pedestrian. Roloson looked solid (I feel bad, really!, for the Wild. Two great goaltenders and they didn't even know what they had..). Thank goodness they got lucky during the second period. Anaheim dominated this game. 2. Congrats to Edmonton. Sometimes the other team can do nearly everything right and it doesn't go their way. Tonight you bent just enough not to snap and you came away with the victory. Good luck in the finals.

Your question is easy to solve: Part of the sentence or ruling (whatever) was that, after Bochenski's 18th birthday (barring a repeat offense), the record of his counterfeiting charge will be removed from the books. Ergo, it doesn't exist. A clean slate so to speak. So, according to this law, Bochenski wouldn't have a problem. At least, that's what I took from what I've read on here a while back. Other posters here have better memories than I.

Lets face it, the worst thing that could happen is that we have another rough start. We may not make the Frozen Four or even deep into the NCAA playoffs, but that's just less than a year away. There's a lot of time. I think Aaron Schweitzer was a "Who the hell is he?" type recruit (if not, then I'm wrong again. ) I'm not at Goon's point where I throw up my hands and say "we're doomed" just because Phil is starting in net. I just think that Berry will have his work cut out for him because I really do feel like the team has started taking JPar for granted. That's dangerous to have. I don't much like this whole "We're heading into '01-'02 all over again" type attitude. I have faith in Hakstol. Even if it is a terrible season next year, Hakstol is the man. Berry is a great associate head coach. Eades is quality too. I may have massive heartburn at times. I may get gray hairs like crazy or lose all my hair (bald, I'm told, is sexy), but I still have faith.

You are correct about your info. If he hires an agent, he's done in the NCAA. However, often many of these agents act as unpaid "advisors" for some time at the behest of the family (which can sometimes lead to the 'unpaid' tag becoming 'paid'). The fact that Jordan has one isn't surprising, but whether this agent is being paid or not defines whether or not he has eligibility or not. If he calls his "advisor" his agent, but there is no contract, then Jordan still has eligibility. It's a quirky rule. I'm not sure I truly understand the rule (why a collegiate player cannot hire an agent with the collegiate player's own money), but that's how it is.

John Murray's signing was a bit shocking. Why did he sign with the OHL? Playing time? Surely not, because if that was such a concern why didn't John commit to another NCAA program that would have offerred him more playing time? He had to know that UMaine has a pretty solid goaltender that is enterring his sophomore year before committing. Very interesting. Matt Lundin, I'll say again, would be a bad idea for the Sioux. Yeah, he's a Minnesota-born goaltender who did pretty well in the USHL his first time around, but he did not wow anyone in a Maine If UND did get Lundin, it would be have to be for the 2007-2008 year (unless I misread that report) and quite frankly, there are better goaltenders available than Matt for that school year. Bryce Christianson would be an ideal candidate to replace Jordan Parise should Jordan leave and he's eligible/willing to come in next fall. Everywhere I've read states that Bryce wants to play a season in the USHL.

Probably Meaningless Comparison between UND and NDSU

Yikes.... what a bad prediction. Hale has graduated from the top 20 prospects list and DeMarchi has gone down. I will stand by the prediction at the time I made it though, I really thought Hale's kidney problem would cause trouble and it did for a little bit, but I didn't think DeMarchi would falter like he did. How about Barry Tallackson though? I thought he had nothing exitting the U and now they are raving about him in Albany. Oh well. I was wrong about DeMarchi. Wasn't the first time ;)

I don't know, but that get up (especially the headgear) is just well... bad. I hope that guy is paid.

Heh, I'm a bit fixated but... This bolded print works for almost every team except for the Wild. In their caise, the bolded print should be changed to: In a wide-open game you need guys playing D going up and down the ice. O is a bonus but isn't required (which is why the Wild aren't breaking their necks right now to resign Gaborik). ANNNNYWAYS.... I agree with Sic all the way on Vanek. I do think he will recover. Vanek's offensive upside is simply far too strong to have him bench warm a lot. Like him or dislike him, he's still young in the NHL. As for draft order, I disagree with a lot of posters here, but I cannot pretend to predict who will go where with the exception of the first overall pick. St. Louis really isn't as big of a pro-NCAA draft organization as some posters seem to think. Most of their collegiate players that are currently on the NHL club were acquired via trade. With that in mind, I think St. Louis will still draft Erik Johnson first overall and try to sign him right away. The only factor there is with Johnson is whether he'll sign right away or pull a Jack Johnson on St. Louis and play at the U. I think he'll sign right away and falter a little bit his first season in the pros. However, the argument that states that Johnson will suit up for the U is a strong argument as well. Pittsburgh needs defense and would LOVE to get Erik Johnson. If they can't get him, I think they'll try to take the best two way forward they can get. Chicago, in my opinion, will go off the board and try for speed. They're known for boneheaded picks like the Bruins are and I think they'll blow it this year. Washington also needs defense and perhaps goaltending. I don't think they'll use this pick to pick a goaltender though. I think a Jordan Staal like player would fit with them if they can't get their hands on a solid defensive prospect. Bruins- They don't usually go hard after collegiate players. Look for them to take a player from major juniors or from Europe. Backstrom comes to mind. Where Kessel and Toews ends up is hard to say. I think Kessel could end up in Chicago or Washington. Toews could end up in Pittsburgh or Chicago or even fall out of the top 5 altogether. It's really hard to say.

Because I don't want to be a Store Manager at Burger Time Anyways, if we become suite holders, does that mean we can complain that the student section wasn't loud enough? Oh, and Jim and Sioux-cia, would our suite be called the Siouxsports.com suite?

What's to kid about? I've been told that, seriously, many times. I actually find it amusing. Could you imagine? All the angels waiting in line at the gates of hell because all of the smart financial minds are in hell because they weren't Catholic in life? Half the banks in the afterlife would be in Hell because the Jewish Banker Coalition owns most of the assets of the world! Anyways.... and the king of all trumps, I can meet Jesus in hell as he wasn't catholic either.

Oh man! Now I'll have to watch my language at the games! Don't wanna teach the avatar anything new! But, in other news, I could pump the avatar for info on Meghan Mutrie

Well that "fancy lawyer" was nothing more than a well dressed schyster (sp?) who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before.

Very true, but I still want to see the movie just because I'd be considered a "bad Christian" for doing so. But hey, I'm Jewish, so I suppose I already am a "bad Christian."

Disagree on the troll alert. I don't think he was trolling. I think he was greatly misinformed.

Absolutely stunning if it were true. Marc Chorney was very much pro-UND. So is his aunt, who lives in Grand Forks and teaches there (I worked next door to her for a semester and talked with her quite often). No, I think this is an exaggeration. I mean, if we believe every rumor there is out there regarding UND, then I think we can expect Fabian, Bina, Foyt, and Martens to be the entire upper class next season.

I'm totally interested in this, especially if I can finagle a job in the F-M area.

Do you all think that the DaVinci Code would even make half the amount its made so far it it wasn't this contraversial/had this much protest/took the Vatican away from other issues to make an official statement about two hours + or - 30 minutes of fictional broohaha? Seriously, even if the movie sucks, I totally want to see it BECAUSE the Catholic Church is so up in arms about it!

If that's the case, then why didn't goon cite the buckysieve gem that called all Sioux fans "cousin loving hicks" or something of that sort? Sorry, I think both sides are wrong in this assessment. I think Gopher fans are just as guilty of name calling and pettiness as Sioux fans on this site. When Sioux fans, not just the antagonistic ones, cite time and time again that the Gopher poster is wrong, the Gopher poster still gets upset and start saying demeaning and hurtful things. When that happens time and time again, what's to make those antagonistic ones (and the rest of us alike) believe that the others are anywhere close to being anything different? You enjoy the Gophers. Great. Don't you even suggest that you don't find even a MORSEL of enjoyment every time the Sioux lose. And should the Sioux lose to a team the caliber of Holy Cross, I'm POSITIVE you'd have whole threads on GPL and USCHO dedicated towards laughing at us. And you know what? We'd PROBABLY deserve the ribbing too. buckysieve thinks we are backwards hicks who sleep with our cousins/sisters/relatives. HOW is that not conducive towards labelling whatever the rest of what he has to say from then on as irrlevent? And this is especially after I specifically asked him to rescind that statement and apologize to the rest of us who didn't antagonize him? Yeah, I've agreed with my fair share of Gopher posters here. I've even gone far enough to hold some of them in very high esteem. However, when they say something we don't like it's one thing, but when they say something that we don't like because it is worded in a defamatory manner towards the Sioux players, UND as a school, or its fans, then why in the HELL are you Gopher fans so offended when some of the more confrontational Sioux fans strike back? buckysieve has yet to rescind that statement, and I doubt he ever will. He now calls all of us "backwards." I personally resent being called backwards or a cousin-loving hick. I HATE being lumped into a pile and labelled. And, if that's the only thing Gopher fans are capable of doing on this site, then I hope Jim seriously considers making this a private forum and kicking ALL of the Gopher fans off of this site. Not because all of you are bad people, but moreover, to keep the bad eggs from your side of the river from poluting the waters. Then, when Jim is asked about it, or if other Sioux fans are asked about it, we can use broad generalizations to classify all Gopher fans too. These arguments are like 5 year olds searching to take advantage of each other by telling on each perspective's parents. The Sioux fans going on talking about whatever and prodding the Gopher fans (usually by talking about Kessel or laughing about certain aspects of the Gopher program) and the Gopher posters either outright responding to such prodding or sifting through the masses and making assumptions about this and that and generally searching for stuff they can find offense with (the whole Holy Cross thing). Get over yourselves. Both sides. I'll remind you all again: Sioux fans: We are hosts here, though that entitles us to a broader breadth of what we can say, it doesn't mean we can be altogether rude. Gopher (and other teams') fans: You are guests on this site. What is said may be inflammatory, petty, or utterly disagreeable to you. Live with it or don't come here. As guests you are expected to act with respect to the Sioux posters and the site admin for the only reason that you are guests here. You don't have to like everyone here. You just have to respect us at least in the barest of definitions. Jim runs this place well and I'd hate to see this site become another Gopher and Sioux bashing place. END of lecture.

Oh dear Parise... this guy is picking Forney to head to Minnesota. Well, if that's true, Forney better get used to playing defense because a pure offensive talent has no place on the Wild. I hope he goes to a team that plays a less crappy game than Minnesota.

Oh my goodness a Minnesota vs UND flamefest! Great! Hmmm will this thread be open in the morning? By all that is holy, I hope not. Jim, maybe a sticky for the smack threads should be posted here? I think both sides of the Red River could use a refresher. State of Hockey, Piper, et. al., like us or hate us, you are guests on this site. Respect the hosts or get out. I think Sioux fans could be better hosts at times, but I don't think that we should have to put up with all this Gopher poster smack just like the GPL people don't have to put up with Sioux poster smack if they don't want to. Be better guests and hosts, please. So far the only Gopher posters who seem to have a realistic perspective on this seem to be sagard and Greyeagle. I haven't seen WPoS lately. ANyways, end rant.

How about David Wilson of the Streetsville Derby team of the MJAHL or something like that? He's from Ontario, he's got a shaved head, he's 6'1" 195....but he's 21. He's a 1985 birthdate. He just won the top goaltender award from the Royal Bank Cup people... 3.11 GAA with a .914 Save%.... I'm not sure what to think of that. If you have a higher GAA but a good save% does that foretell a bad defense or inconsistency (one game you'll be lights out, nothing gets by you and the next game you'll let in 7 goals on 10 shots)?

What has changed since LT Buning has come in?
redwing77 replied to Driveforshow's topic in Other Sports
So, just for clarification's standpoint (so everyone can understand it) does this mean that if legend attacks another poster after this post, will he get a suspension? Or does this post not qualify as a warning? Seems pretty plain to me, if he attacks a poster 4 times, I think the third time constitutes a suspension. I love having a nice administrator on the board. -
I liked what Chay said. He seems to be real level headed. Doesn't seem to come across as wanting too much and is willing to do and play wherever the coaches want him to play, including forward if need be. They brought up him being a lot like Lee Marvin and I really do think that is the role he'll play with the team. Only I think Chay may get more game time than Lee. Again, like Marto, size is an issue. 5'9" 170 is SMALL for a defenseman. I really think that the closer you are to 6'0" 200lbs the better. I'm not saying UND should nab up every 6'5"+ Dman out there, but I don't see a 5'10" or less 180lb or less defenseman matching up real well in the corners. I know that slights Bina too, but I really think that, in the corners, size is your friend.
