  1. While I agree with many of your points, I shouldn't be able to sit in my livingroom and score 100% on the old QB1 game in predicting our offensive play calls. So obviously Bubba and Rudolph have no confidence in Mollberg to throw and our offensive line to protect......then I truly believe Mollberg should of had 12-15 designed runs tonight to at least try and take a little heat off Norberg. I like this kid running the ball but when 7041 people know he is going to run how effective can he be? I like the fact that he hits the hole hard and always runs north south....but give him a fighting chance.
  2. I heard through the grapevine that a couple weeks ago all 3 coaches were in NW Canada looking at a kid who could be "Toewslike" in that he will likely be a top 5-10 pick but he has made it known he would like to play college hockey. Any insiders here have a better idea than I do who we could be looking at?
  3. It is a scary thought to think that position likely pays over minimum wage and allows them to work more than 10 hours a week.
  4. I see Kelly O'Keefe has a strong background in branding and it is great that he is a consultant but no one on the actual task force has any background in tis area. They didn't even think to pull someone from UND's marketing department. I remain skeptical. I want a name and logo that won't become a laughingstock while realizing that this new name and logo will likely remain in the background for the next 30-40 years.
  5. The fact that there doesn't seem to be anyone on the committee with a marketing background or experience in collegiate licensing is more than a little troubling. With companies in the area like Lake Shirts(Blue 84), CI Sport, Coaches Choice(in full disclosure, my employer and a big NDSU supporter), and even S&S Promotions. One would think they could find someone like a Rick Fletcher from CI whose company works with collegiate licenses all over the country and would have valuable input into what works and what doesn't from a marketing and logo standpoint, or a Brad Ness from S&S who currently have the Green and White clothing line and I believe is a UND alum, or my brother who was a collegiate buyer for Scheels for 10+ years and has worked with colleges and licenses all over the country for Coaches Choice and is also a UND grad or Jason Loney from Scheels who is also a UND grad would make sense.
  6. Doesn't matter, I live in Fargo so I have learned to extrapolate....going forward, anytime they play a top SEC team close or beat them, that means that UND would beat that team as well and from what I can tell this goes on in perpetuity.
  7. Former Region 5, District 20 guy until the family moved from Linton to Bismarck. Linton Lions Napoleon Imperials Strasburg Clippers Zeeland Vikings Braddock Bobcats Hazelton Tigers Wishek Badgers Emmons Central Knights Hague might have been in this district as well?
  8. If our offense is going to be having the QB stay in the pocket and throw then without a doubt Bartles is the guy who should be quarterback.....if we are going to move the pocket and have the QB move around a bit, maybe mix in a little read option and call plays where the QB is designed to run the ball then Mollberg is the guy.....right now it seems like we are going with plan A and option B.
  9. Looks like Dan is a strong reader! Unfortunately, comprehending what he has read is not a strength.
  10. I have said and truly believe that if NDSU didn't give Time Brewster at least 1 if not 2 championship rings it is a travesty.
  11. My claim to fame or maybe infamy? 5 Intramural softball titles spread over 3 different decades, 3 different schools(2 of which I never attended). 2000-NDSU 1994-Moorhead State 1986, 1987, 1989-UND
  12. Didn't say they were the oldest, just among the oldest. Blake did play a year at Ferris State and then sat out a transfer year and he turned 25 in September of his senior season(so just before hockey season started), Debus turned 25 a month into his 'Junior" season(November). And Woog didn't actually turn 25 until about a month after his senior season......Debus would have been 26 as a senior. On a Sunday afternoon game at the Old Ralph(I was actually in attendance), UND fell behind 3-0 early and the Gopher chirping started and once UND scored 1 everyone(the Gopher fans I was with looked at me and said f^ck, can we leave....it was the loudest arena I had heard to that point) could kind of feel the momentum changing and Blake who never needed an invitation to run his yapper started letting the Gopher bench have it pretty good as UND poured in 5 straight goals in a short amount of time to run the Gophs out of the building....at some point during the onslaught of goals, Coach Doug Woog made some statement to Blake about being 25 and Blake told him he was "only" 24 but he would be 25 next year and said that he would be back again but asked Woog if he would be.(Woog tells that story great!)
  13. Fun quiz for Gopher fans. who are 2 of the oldest players to ever play in the WCHA? Dan Woog who turned 25 shortly after his senior season. Steve DeBus was 25 during his 3rd season and would have been 26 if he had played his 4th season.
  14. Simple. The University of Minnesota should just turn down the Vikings and tell them they will have to play somewhere else.....of course this would also mean turning down the 300k per game they are getting and the stadium improvements that have been done. I don't disagree that the Redskin name should be gone but the the posturing by the University is ridiculous at best. Sadly it isn't the first time. If they had any convictions they could have refused to play Florida State in the ACC/Big 10 challenge....the conferences have different numbers of schools so not every school participates every season and if the Minnesota athletic department was so adamant they could have refused to play the Seminoles. They also had no problem selling Sioux merchandise at Mariucci arena while puffing out their chest about how against the name and logo they are and if not for the WCHA and conference scheduling they wouldn't schedule or allow their teams to compete against UND while right across the street UND's Fighting Sioux swim teams were competing the same weekend.(pretty sure they were not in the Big 10). They also had Central Michigan on their basketball schedule a few years back when their policy was to not play schools with Native American nicknames unless scheduled by conference. I have a hilarious email conversation with Maturi on that one.
  15. Only if we adopt the very capable Kenny "Sodbuster" Jay as our mascot!
  16. Maybe the goal should be not despised. As far as new Uniform's and the deal with Addidas, I would just stick with "University of North Dakota", "UND", interlocking UND, etc for branding on the Uniforms. I would NOT put the new name on them.....stick to T's and Hoods and general merchandise for that.
  17. Frattin was one of Toronto's best players in the playoffs 2 years ago. He kept getting dinged up for LA and they brought Toffoli up and he basically took his spot. similar players, Toffoli is 4 years younger.
  18. OK. Have to give credit where credit is due. That was pretty funny, even if it was set up by Dave K. which is like hitting it off a tee, but hey it was there and you drilled it, good for you!.....please don't wait another 2200 posts to post something funny or relevant though.
  19. Put me in that camp. Remains to be seen if he is =, >, < to Bohl and in my opinion he would have also been a major upgrade to Mussman. It will be interesting to see how the next 4-5 years play out as Kleiman has a pretty well stocked team right now and Bubba is damn near starting with a team similar to what we had in year 1 of our transition.
  20. True. But the trust level wasn't there as most saw it as a basketball arena for NDSU with the hockey being a charade.
  21. You are pretty dense. I'll give you that.
