  1. I....I don't even....nevermind
  2. sadly that explains a lot. Unfund the government?
  3. I have a crazy idea. How bout we follow the existing rules and regulations. If you are unable to then you go back. Path to U.S. Citizenship This page describes the most common path to U.S. citizenship, which allows a green card holder (permanent resident) of at least 5 years to apply for naturalization. Other paths include: •Green card holders married to U.S. citizens •Green card holders in the military and their family •Citizenship through parents Eligibility Requirements If you are a green card holder of at least 5 years, you must meet the following requirements in order to apply for naturalization: •Be 18 or older at the time of filing •Be a green card holder for at least 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing the Form N-400, Application for Naturalization •Have lived within the state, or USCIS district with jurisdiction over the applicant’s place of residence, for at least 3 months prior to the date of filing the application •Have continuous residence in the United States as a green card holder for at least 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing the application •Be physically present in the United States for at least 30 months out of the 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing the application •Reside continuously within the United States from the date of application for naturalization up to the time of naturalization •Be able to read, write, and speak English and have knowledge and an understanding of U.S. history and government (civics).******************************** •Be a person of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States during all relevant periods under the law******************** Hell, just enforce the last 2. Whatever Agency brought you over here will be forced to reimburse any and all government funds they may have received and also pay for returning the criminal back to his/her homeland. They will than hopefully do a better job of vetting any future potential US Citizens since it hits them in the pocketbook. They should also be monitored on their "success" rate and if it is below a certain standard they get unfunded entirely.
  4. Yeah, because the legislature would never over step their bounds and........never mind
  5. Well. Caufield was a member of the team for the entire season.....he didn't quit.
  6. They are equally awful
  7. Don't forget Josh Persons
  8. What are you? A sailor? Who uses condoms?............Austin Powers
  9. Lowell did acknowledge that staying North Dakota was far and away the most popular choice. Like I said, if you are going to bring the far and away favorite this far in the game and then just cast it aside you are going to end up with a name that many will consider invalid. I can live with Roughriders if it garners more votes than "North Dakota" among Alum, current students, faculty, and/or those who have contributed to the cause.
  10. Anna Burleson, Forum News Service -- The committee was split on whether to continue to play as "North Dakota," with members Landon Bahl, Chelsea Moser and Lowell Schweigert speaking out against it while Dave St. Peter was in favor of discussing it further. "Now I think is the time for some courage and the popular choice based on what was submitted during April, obviously to all of us, if you look at numbers, is 'North Dakota,' but popular isn't always the right choice," said Schweigert, a UND alumnus and committee member. "North Dakota" received 21 points when the committee voted on the name with St. Peter awarding 8, the most, and Bahl awarding -8, the least. Begs the question. what is the annoying emcee dude doing on this committee? The fact that he can basically cancel out the vote of St. Peter makes about as much sense as Lakes bison possibly getting to vote on our future name.
  11. Alum, students, faculty, donars.
  12. So there isn't going to be a vote? I would have actually been fine with that as I said from the start. form a committee and hire local consultants to pick a name, no public vote(sure, send out surveys to alum and students but that's it).....not pass the buck and turn it into a complete cluster f%$# that this has been. Should have just had the committee formed, left out the wasted money on the consultants and brought in a few people locally with experience in the marketing business like UND alum Jason Loney of Scheels who has a little experience with Pro and College licensing and a couple key people from any of the following large regional companies whose job is to work with logos and designs like CI Apparel, S&S(Brad Ness is another alum), Lake Shirts, etc.(I left out a couple companies including mine). Narrow it down to 3 or 4 acceptable choices and have those companies go back to their marketing people and art staffs and come up with some concepts and ideas rather than pick a name and then say "welp lets see what we can come up with" They gather the info, discuss it and announce a name and explain why they chose that name and it's over. Now they are going to end up with a name that the majority of people do not want since they dangled out the possibility of going by the current status quo of being The University of North Dakota and that is the most popular choice among the people who truly matter. Absolute transparency isn't always the best thing when you involve the general public due to the 7 out of 10 rule. It is to be expected though when any government agency is tasked with something like this.
  13. FYP
  14. So which is worse? Choosing to go by The University of North Dakota and having The Fighting Sioux as the de facto nickname in perpetuity? or Choosing a nickname that is looked upon with disdain and scorn and having the Fighting Sioux as the de facto nickname for the next 15-20 years anyway(See Marquette)? I think, although by no means do I like the name for my School, that Roughriders is the only name that could possibly shorten the above time frame. If we end up something incredibly lame like Nodaks or Sundogs we will be going through the process of choosing a name again in less than 10 years. Bring back Explorers, add either the Green or Fighting Hawks to Roughriders and North Dakota. Put it to a ranked vote 1 through 4 on the ballot for UND students, alumni, employees, and large donars only and be done with it. The whole thing has been a clusterfuck and I just want it over at this point.
  15. No. The majority would have voted for something else. Are you trolling us with this?
  16. Well. You don't speak for me. I don't mind Nodak Nation as an occasional description but as name it is brutal. One of the worst left. At this point we should be down to North Dakota and Roughriders. And as much as North Stars is a far superior name to Roughriders, it is Minnesota's. I could have lived with Explorers even though 1 other school has the name just because of the marketing and design potential.
  17. No. No it wouldn't.
  18. Well. Maybe we could be the Raw Dogs instead.
  19. Pretty much my thoughts as well. They would be able to use an X by itself or X's for quite a bit of cool apparel and design ideas.
  20. Well the list doesn't look as bad when pared down to 15. Pretty easy to get to 6 I think. Blaze-no Cavalry-no Explorers-3 Fighting Green-no Fighting Hawks-no Force-no Green Hawks-4 Nodaks-no North Dakota-1 North Stars-2 Pride-6 Roughriders-5 Spirit-no Sundogs-no Thunderhawks-no
  21. Dangit. 4 strikes against me.
  22. I am considering applying for this position. I figure I have 3 things working against me. 1.I do not have an advanced degree. 2.I possess common sense. 3. I am not tone deaf to the real world around me.
  23. And having 2 stud running backs and a stud fullback to join the QB in the backfield didn't hurt either.....not to mention Wide Outs who didn't mind not catching balls but relished blocking downfield.....growing up a Nebraska fan I have to admit I was a fan of watching the option offense.
