Fact of Life--Kids develop and reach their potential at different rates. I know of many players who while their game wasn't mature yet, they made mature decisions and did not let ego get in the way of the big picture. for example sometimes it means choosing a team in the NAHL even though you had earned a spot in the USHL...spot as 6 or 7th d-man vs. top pair defenseman on #1 penalty kill and power play unit....which is better for your development?

I remember being at a Booster meeting in Fargo and he was talking about the new NCAA rules regarding the play clock and when the game clock stops and starts and him talking about their being less plays in football games now so he was planning on a lot more no huddle and playing fast on offense and I am sitting there thinking "but Coach you haven't recruited any talent on defense in a couple years, wouldn't it make more sense to keep the offense on the field as long as possible?" Sadly I was correct in my assessment.
