Nope. A Division 1 wrestling title and a Division 1 hockey title are given to the best college team in the country. You have 129 teams fighting for a Top division title in football and UND and NDSU are essentially playing for 130th place. I am fine with our football team competing in that division but many bison fans seem to lose sight of that FACT.

But we also normally schedule 60-80% of our non conference games at home for hockey which is just smart business and if NDSU can schedule 3 or their 4 or 2 of their 3 non conference games at home or if it is a 2 and 2 they try and make one a FBS team and get a check then I can't fault them for that.

To be fair. It is an exhibition game....but to make your point we will often schedule a kind of 2 for 1 with Eastern schools in hockey where we will travel out and play Northeastern and Harvard on a Friday and Saturday and then in the following year or two, those teams will come to Grand Forks for 2.

I couldn't agree more. I have always said it really is just the few rotten thousands of Bison fans that ruin it for the other 50.

Game is usually interesting...especially at the start as it is UND's first action against an opponent while Manitoba has already had 4 games(8 if you count their European tour in August).

Do we want UND's name to at least come up in the investigation? Not to ultimately get in trouble, but if they at least looked into us it lets the fan base know that at least we are trying!

When it was 35-21 I said to my buddy if we can get one 3rd down stop we might actually win a game we have no business winning....but we never did make the play on 3rd when we needed too.

True. But this team isn't currently able to overcome a 10-14 point swing at that point in the game. the 7 points off the board for the UND touchdown and the bogus call on Tank Harris that allowed MSU to continue a drive and get 7 instead of settling for a long field goal attempt. 21-0 on the scoreboard is a lot different than 14-7 or even 17-7. Not complaining about the poor calls as they happen in every game, just pointing out that in our current state we don't have the ability to overcome calls like those.

Ok. Don't have a problem with the set of plays we ran that drive but holy crap get the right personnel on the field. We are running Santiago's plays for Olivera and vice versa.

UND 23 Montana State 19

A friend of mines nephew played there a couple years ago. It never worked out for me to get to a game down there unfortunately but he said it is a great college town. I will gather additional details.

I guess we will see what happens in Big Sky play. We played UTAH who has a very good defense, Missouri State who is a bad team but they do focus on stopping the run and USD who is either very improved at stopping the run or we are in trouble. If our offensive line isn't able to control the line of scrimmage and get to the 2nd level with blocks it might be time to go to more 3 wide receiver sets and use Cloyd or a 4th receiver split off the line as well. Spread the defense out a bit and still have a primary focus of running the ball but make teams spread out their defense and not be able to stack 8 and 9 in the box. Throw some quick passes and bubble screens and use Keaton's running abilities again as well.

Entire team not ready to play. Getting horribly out coached and out schemed. So many mental mistakes.

I would give him a C. First 2-3 drives had some head scratchers for sure. 3rd and a short 1 and we run a play that starts 7 yards deep? Wasn't too happy with the 3rd down call that led to missed field goal either. After that it was alright.
