Nope. I think Plante was asleep for a few seconds. From the other end of rink and even first replay it looked like the Denver forward floated a pass for Plante to skate into and shoot and it looked like Smith was moving toward the puck and reaching for it at same time.....from the second replay, all of this remains true but when Smith realizes he isn't going to get to the puck first he lifts his forearm/shoulder/elbow to make contact and hits Plante in the head. This is the same view the referee had and not sure why they even conferenced to discuss it.

Watched it live from the other end and thought it was questionable. Got home and watched the replay on TV and after seeing the first replay which was from the side of ice where the team benches were I thought, Ok, maybe 2 minutes and then saw the replay from the penalty box side of the ice and it was a no-brainer 5 minute penalty and game misconduct.

Or have refs call obstruction and interference beyond the first 2 weekends.

I think him being from Finland greatly hurts his chances of being on Team Sweden. It is amazing that in a year that NHL guys are not playing that a kid who would be playing in the NHL this year if he had left Denver isn't on the Finland Olympic Team.

I am not sure if it ever came out as to whether Josh Morton ever officially applied for the A.D position at UND but if he didn't he has to be kicking himself right now as the Michigan State Athletic department and University in general are imploding. I am guessing he has freshened up his resume.

I am not really against a mascot per se. But the fact that the last time we had one it was an embarrassment to the school, state and region makes me a little leery. Then when you consider the whole nickname process that eventually gave us a mediocre name and the sh!tty logo we have now and......well it is a little hard to have trust that this will turn out alright.

It was a sorry excuse for a mascot and was rightfully ridiculed and made fun of by our own fanbase and other schools as well. Didn't someone finally steal it and burn it?

The guy pushing it for the Letterwinner's club wasn't a fan of mine. I said it was a horrible idea and looked terrible and would be an embarrassment. Fortunately most agreed with me. Our relationship grew that summer when he thought I was messing around with his girlfriend.(I wasn't)

This whole premise of Carson Wentz addressing this subject is idiotic. Philly fans are and have always been jackbags. It is a badge of honor for them. The Vikings got their butts kicked. Get over it. Where are the stories of the Falcons fans receiving this abusive treatment? Plenty of d-bags in every NFL stadium. I have seen it in Minneapolis and Denver firsthand. Went to a Monday night game against the Bears at the old Metrodome(nothing like adding an extra 7 hours of drinking for people who already can't handle their booze). Saw people staggering drunk, passed out in their seats, falling down stairs, puking on themselves, in bathroom sinks, on bathroom floors, on the stadium stairs, on the concourse floor and about a dozen fights as Viking fans wanted to fight anyone who they perceived to be a Bears fan....Went to a Bronco/Viking game at old Mile High on a day where it was snowing heavily and the perfect temp to make snow and ice balls. Saw several people wearing Viking gear have to receive medical attention and or go to hospital. In hindsight, if you were wearing purple that day it wasn't a good idea to return from the concession stand with your hands full as it leaves your face and head wide open for a 65-70 mph ice ball to the face as you make your way up the stairs. I see some Viking fans are planning revenge on the Eagle fans coming to town. Most of the infamous Eagle fans you have seen all week on You Tube are not going to be making the trip to Minneapolis as most couldn't afford a bus ticket to Cleveland, let alone a super bowl ticket and plane fare. In addition most of them probably have to check in with their probation officers and/or aren't allowed to leave Philly.

I was on student senate and helped lead the effort to stop this travesty from happening Unfortunately they found funding elsewhere for this embarrassment.

Obviously winning takes care of everything. 10 regular season games 2-3 playoff games 2 conference tournament games 9 wins would be a lock I think. 8 wins would be fairly safe win 7 of 13(not make St. Paul) and it could get interesting.
