  1. Feeney is in the portal. Sounds like he didn't want to be the No. 3/4 this year. Not much to see here, but good luck to you Mr. FEEEEENAAAAYYYYY!
  2. Oh, we definitely want him. I appreciate your admiration of me. It's good to have a fan.
  3. Yep. Good kid and seems like he was well-liked in the locker room. Has a lot of skill, too. Just couldn't be consistent with his lack of size. Wishing him the best, for sure.
  4. #BlueChippa
  5. Yep! And if you've heard him since, I guarantee he was told not oversell "opponents'" goals anymore. He never blows up like that anymore.
  6. My favorite part of that call was Scott Hennen announcing Michael Parks' goal over the PA when Nellie tied it.... "Scoring for North Dakota (not exact, but close) .... Mich... aelll.... Pa....." LaPanta: "SCORRRREEEEESSSSS! BROCK NELSON TIES IT!" .... Then the X absolutely explodes. I am hearing it in my head and I'm legit getting chills.
  7. Man, I miss that tourney. So many incredible moments.
  8. I nominate @Dustinas the commissioner of college hockey.
  9. Perfect. I like this idea a lot, actually. Each region plays out over 3 days. Could use two close arenas, if need be.
  10. Would the west region only host western teams and vice versa for east? I don't think I'd want that.
  11. So, same format, just two eight-team regions held in two areas of the country that support hockey. I dig that.
  12. But so would a decisive Game 3. Think of the first round of the NCHC when we have one on Sunday night at the Ralph. The crowd is always killer. Add the national tourney to that dynamic .... big time.
  13. Oof! That was a deep cut lololol. Well done.
  14. Holy eff balls!
  15. Very common conversation to recruits is "we see you coming in around X season if everything goes to plan" ... So, he could have had that in his brain since he was 15 that he was coming in 22-23 and someone in his camp didn't feel like he should budge and that he was ready. Everything we've talked about for 4 or 5 days now was summed up in Brad's article. Spicer made his move and bought in to himself. I wish him the best.
  16. Basically summed up all I was referring to yesterday.
  17. Savoie signed. I'm SO sad
  18. What makes you say that? He's made two very tough ones already this offseason. This is anything but simple.
  19. Like @Walsh Hallsaid, regardless if Budy stays or goes has no bearing on why Calder is gone or why Spicer isn't coming in. Spicer is not coming in because he's not better than the four recruits ahead of him, otherwise he'd be here this season. He was told to wait a year and he decided not to.
  20. Yes, that is the point, thank you lol. Calder was also very likely told he was getting little to no scholarship this season.
  21. 18 scholarships per team divvied out as the team sees fit. Some are definitely getting little to no money athletically (can still get academic scholarships, too). My guess is that Blake and McLaughlin are close to full, James a little less and Striden less than James. Strinden could also be getting large academic scholarships. My guess is that Budy is getting very little money if any at all.
  22. One needs a scholly, the other does not.
  23. Like I said and corrected, I meant to say/should have said he would have been the youngest since Toews (although I missed Cag). It was meant to be a comp between Spicer and Toews. Sorry for the confusion.
  24. The point of my 18 year old comp was about him being the youngest player since Toews (I didn't realize Cag was younger) to come in to UND, making that talent rare. Schmaltz, Cag, Boeser are all good examples. No need to overthink this. Trying to develop the understanding that losing Spicer sucks, but it's not the end of the world.
