Love your confidence. We just beat Utah Valley and we are 2-0 at Chicago the last 2 years. If you don't understand that we are undefeated at this Chicago arena. I like our chances of winning this and no way we lose by 18.

I'd say we have just as much of a chance as anybody. The 2 teams we have to beat are teams we just beat in the last week of the season. Having won 4 in a row I like our chances. Go Sioux

Wow, what a way to finish the game. Congrats to Mitchell. Really cant believe we won this game with our starters ( Anderson, Webb, Huff, and Mitchell, Mathison) only shot 12 for 42. Probably the worst combined shooting game from these guys all year and we won. I will definately take the win and now lets go get the conference title. We need to win 2 games and I'm sure both games will come down to the last few minutes.

No doubt Utah Valley has done an amazing job the last couple of years. We've lost to them the last 3 times but honestly we should have beaten them each and every time. Today we will finally hang on to a win against them on SENIOR day and send Micthell and Mathison away with a big victory and a 13-1 home record for this year. Go Seniors and go Sioux.

Montana wins by 15. Didn't really care who won the game but we beat the Big Sky champ. Of course that was at home and we all know what we do on the road. If we can figure out how to win a few games on the road we might just do OK next year.

That would be a shame cause he is by far the most athletic player we have and has by far the most potential. I dont know why Huff is expecting any thing else from another team though. For any team to be successful you must play together and play as one. His current style would not fit in for any other successful team. I believe he would be making a huge mistake thinking his style would work for another team. Wish he would really think this out and make the change that is needed to help this team out in the future. He is an impact player but must play as a team. UND has proven these last 3 games what they can do with him scoring less than 7 points in each game. All wins.

I'd say it has everything to do with basketball. If he leaves he will have the exact same issues where ever he goes. The next coach wont give him as long of a rope as Jones has. I hope he changes and stays but if he is not willing to play as a team then I would be just as happy having Schuler or someone like him playing the 3. It worked just great last night.

Have to agree with you on this one. I have been on Huff more than anybody because he has so much talent. He needs to work things out and has shown at times he can play as a team but last night once again he tried to play for himself when everyone else was playing the best team game they have played all year and the results showed. Maybe after last night he will wake up and realize what happens when all the players play together as one and take great shots.

Best TEAM game they played all year. They continuously made the extra pass and found the wide open guy and the shots were knocked down. By far the best they have looked in the past couple of years.

Officiating is so bad everywhere. People wonder why scoring may be so low in games, its because players are getting hammered in most shots and nothing is being called. The officials are allowing basketball to be played more like football and then all of a sudden late in the game you barely touch someone and its a foul. Absolutely no consistancy in officiating. Its horrible everywhere.

I have to agree in most of what everyone is saying. However, the free throw shooting is up to the players. I'm sure they practice it all the time and probably make most of them in practice. Come game time its on them to make the free throw, coaching has nothing to do with that. The lack of discipline in shot selection and screens has been bad all year. Why does Mitchell and Wilmer and Brekke have so many fouls setting screens 30' from the basket, that is rediculous. It takes them out of the game and its also stupid and a lost possession that we cant afford to lose. How can they not understand they can't move, its up to the guard to run his guy into them, not them run into the defender. Again this has to be the player not to move but they do. We do have alot of talent in our first 6 guys but until we get help down low we will suffer next year and we must get a replacement for MItchell. Nobody we currently have on this team can fill in for the loss of Mitchell. I may have seen another recruit at the game yesterday and he was a guard. In 2-3 years we will have 15 guards on this team. UGH

Big weekend. We need 2 home wins to avenge earlier road losses to these teams. If we finish out 3-0 at home we still have a shot at the number 2 seed in the conference tournament. Finishing as the 2 seed or the 3 seed means we get a bye into the semi-finals which would be huge. Go Sioux

You won't get any recruits if there is no conference or no NCAA aspirations. You babble on other threads and have no concerns at all for UND athletics.

This players seems pretty solid with very good size. Definately need someone of this size and shooting ability to replace Mitchell next year. Again, the problem is we have no scholarships at this time available.

This entire month as well as December was brutal. A road win is good and hopefully this win will give us additional confidence to close out the league schedule with 3 home wins. Then on to the conference tournament in Chicago where this team is 2-0 in Chicago States arena the past 2 years.

If they don't cut players we are in trouble. One big question, is Goodman done? I really like watching him and thought he by far brought the most from the junior class but he has only played like 14 games (3 this year) in the past 2 years and requires another surgery. If he is done that is one scholarship. Haugen has not travelled with the team at all lately so he is definately at the top of the list if a cut is made. He has not done anything the last 2 years and like Goodman has received 4 free years of education. The other I would think would be Archer. He is the same as Haugen as far as production the last 2 years. I really truly like all the above players and they are great young men but if a cut was made I would think these 3 would be considered. It just depends on how many new players Jones wants to bring in. Its not a decision I would want to make but something has to be done to succeed in the next couple of years in the Big Sky.

I have brought up this exact same scenario and without Mitchell and no one new we are in trouble. As hard as its going to be, scholarships must be cut before next year and some new 4 and 5 position players brought in. In order to make an immediate impact they more than likely will need to be junior college players. I'd say its too late to bring in an impact high school player this late in the recruiting process. We have a sound foundation in the sophomore class for the next 2 years but they need help. Jones has done well on recruiting being the fact we have had no shot at the NCAA nor played in a real conference. Recruiting should be easier and better in the years to come being in the Big Sky and NCAA aspirations.

Its always tough to win on the road being a low mid major. A normal schedule has got to help and hopefully a few more bigs for next year. When Brekke gets into foul trouble like last night we are in trouble and next year Brekke will face guys bigger than him in every league game just like last night. It didn't help that we shot so poorly last night from alot of our key players and the coach cant help us there, but he can discipline what shots are taken by what players.

Just a brutal road stretch for the second month of the last 3. We obviously played a very good defensive game but struggled shooting the ball. Only a couple players shot the ball well tonight.

This had got to be the only conference that does not involve all the teams. Dont understand why 4 teams will be left out of the tournament. I have seen many times over the years a bottom seeded tournament either wins the conference tournament or is in the championship game. Does anyone know why seeds 8 thru 11 will be left out of the tournament? Its only one more round. If we dont learn how to win on the road we will not even be in the tournament.

I disagree. The NCAA does not care what our laws are. They have already said this. They are the governing body that we play in , not the constitution of North Dakota. If we want to play all sports in D1 then yes passing this law will damage that.

So are we closer to getting rid of the nickname and bring life back to UND athletics or did we just take a hit and move further away. All this legal talk has me confused. Someone make it simple for me.
